I guess there's some work to be done [Music]
okay so damage report [Music]
that's too bad back back side there okay this is very fixable okay I got to figure out how I'm going to do this you
Oh
Oh
okay so a few things here first of all these tarps I mean they're so old I've had them for so many years just looking at them they feel like gripping to pieces so I have to be careful and use whatever I could it's going to be good for tonight but just tonight I mean if a big storm would come they wouldn't work so I'm going to have to dispose of them after tonight so obviously it's been raining probably two weeks in a row maybe had a couple of sunny days but it's pretty incredible the rain we've had
so it's soaked everywhere I've got a little problem right here as you can see I've got a hold but there's more holes in the other tire this here
is too wet I'm not going to lay down on that
what I want to do and hopefully use it cover this
so it's live here here
okay so we're able to make it kind of safe with three but the tarts yeah
I might keep that there for betting this we'll see
okay this may be a little bit of a pain try and do something with that wrong too
okay
there
hi
rolls there
[Music]
[Music]
okay so I brought my bigger sleeping bag because believe it or not they're 90 - for tonight and I didn't want to have to have a fire all night so that's why I got the big guy imagine that
eight of me - four not counting the win you
now obviously this is to protect my sleeping bag on the sparks and members okay
pretty much since not done yet though by the way I know I'm saying somewhere a little like overnight or like myself hanging don't have to go into my bag each time I need something it's all in my head
it's a good thing I already asked them would prepared saves me a lot of work so I'm going to do a little bit of topic [Applause]
listed would full of not [Applause]
[Applause]
[Applause]
Hey
okay guess not we've to get myself some very small dry pieces because everything is soaking wet so
forget about the little twigs that I use normally
I'm afraid even this is kind of wet yep okay so I won't bore you with this way I'll continue my slowly but surely my little pile here oh there you go folks that's pretty much myself for tonight probably going to after supper going to split a few more pieces but I've told you already that I'm not using the fire all night so I'll just keep some big logs closed like that so it burns slowly while the fires going and even that little kindling there I don't know anyway it's not bone-dry that's for sure that's why I brought a piece of hot wood and this is the grill that I have here at the camp I put it this way and this hook here in the back is hooking the rock so it's not going anywhere I got some steak to cook and stuff and when I have some cold I'll just throw it under I'm not going to cook directly on the grill it's because it's you know pieces of steak anyway you'll see but that's about it
still have some snow and over here that's for sure the 8th of May now
for the newer the newer viewers you will be asking me probably some of you what is this kit well all I can say is that it's from toks that's all I can say can't remember that dimensions or stuff like that some of you knew the last time I think but that one goes inside the other I've got my little goodies there make time to see and I'm going to explain anything a little bit of a little sponge windbreaker when I use the alcohol so it a bit of soap orange singing there and firesteel little rag to wipe my stuff so they just take everything out I'm not going to need that right now it's just in case if ever I become lazy and I want to quit coffee well so this is the little kit now this doesn't come with it I know it's from another kick just put that here if I use my alcohol stove and put my cup okay but I don't need that right now I'm going to use this wood here okay hold on
they're got your bail get your handles picture covers that's going to be my coffee and this one here I'll go I don't think I'll be using this one but at the same time I have a little pan here this is all titanium this one warps but it's fine for what I have to cook tonight it's good okay so I just you know I want to keep things simple and again I don't have to go in and out I'm not ready to leave so what you see there is going to say it stays like that I'm not going to show it throughout the whole video but it stays like that when I'm done I clean it put back on that little table so you know it's easy access
okay so I know there's maybe a million times
what's the coffee I use this Nescafe three-in-one and being asked all the time so might as well mention it right away now sometimes it could be hard to get maybe in the States or anywhere else but other companies make him now I think Starbucks there's quite a few it's cheap but it's handy because everything's in it and when you figure out the right amount of water mmm okay now I really need to get a fire going because believe it or not I'm getting chilled it's going to be a cold one tonight okay so I'm going to use some fat wood this time mmm the smell of that just amazing folks
come on win oh that's not good okay I might as well try this goes the wind wants to blew my pal we time everything is wet putting your small pieces slowly that's why we call it building your fire
they're going to save everything let me hear some cracking well folks
the game has just changed good old fireman he can't beat that you can already feel the warm comfy homey I even put some very damp wood already and as you can see I got them all around even that pile in the back there to dry it out but that's all inside the rocks so there's no problem even if it starts burning my coffee should be for yeah I can see steam already coming out so then keep an eye on that you
I'm going to keep my my fire low at the moment don't really need more than this Coffee is ready so because the wood is fairly damn sadly going to have a smoky fire pretty much all night right now it's flying I'm just hoping that the
the wind won't change right now it's parallel to my bed which is what you want I'm sure if it's too hot right now yeah
well it's been a while since I was able to get out I was actually really anxious got to stop looking at the weather because it's kind of weird major flood in Quebec surprisingly I mean it happens in certain areas frequently every spring but this year I mean it's almost everywhere where you have major rivers few people died I think too so so tonight they're dancing -4 and if it continues raining like it is now it's just that you know drizzles not nothing major might wake up with snow tomorrow I hope not
ah perfect perfect temperature we almost feel like going to sleep right now pretty comfortable as fire is well thank God for fires let me tell you we have to take it easy in the woods I know we've got all kinds of chores to do especially when you're filming but my mistake I get so caught up with the filming and the scenes that I really stopped enjoying my time here and I don't take time to rest and it's not fun anymore
so now I'm changing my habits I know that when you have many scenes in a video it looks cool it looks professional I'm going to keep it amateur because if I keep on going like that I'm going to get fed up of doing videos and I don't want that to happen like right now it's 6:15 and I'm done I mean I still have to cook supper haven't had supper yet I want to do it before dark cuz I don't like eating in the dark can see what you're eating but right now I'm lying down I'm relaxing plus I have a sore back and it feels good so you guys out there trust me I've been doing this a long time if you're starting to make videos okay I really really recommend for you to start making videos but remember to take time to just relax and enjoy your surroundings enjoy your fire enjoy your coffee enjoy the one you're with I mean just enjoy enjoy enjoy my moto is enjoy the wilderness and well sadly I'm off track and not anymore trust me so just a little rambling I guess you want to see what I'm seeing right now I want you guys to fall asleep because I'm not done yet okay I got a supper it's nothing special but I'm pretty sure it's going to be good okay so there you go that's my TV my warmth and I'm going to try and not fall asleep especially when the plane passes over so as usual I always seem to forget a lot of things I forgot it all kinds of utensils right
so let's move some holes here my cooking area
so tonight I'm going to be having some marinated strip steak - the clutters frozen Hey
so let that heat up now I just hope I am hoping that a stay there that I have enough place for all the steak I have okay so now don't ask me what the marinade is I have no idea but it will surely oh okay I'll have enough place break it up a bit all right so a steak is done I was too much in a hurry obviously so I put it right in the fire I forgot my button too bad the butter rosin but anyway looking good yep if I do say so myself that's enough wait till my buns are are cooked or warmed up
oh boy that won't be long okay time to eat okay so let's test it out make myself a little fork here oh wow
Wow even though I overcooked it a bit it's still very tender and very tasty mmm
man
put that little sauce here one last time look at that folks whoo
can forget my little bugs of course my very careful with the knife stay of course the butter is frozen oh it's melting come on get off there my tables too small one more why not yeah cover on this for now I got a second hey
okay
Cheers
mmm
where we are Wow
gosh it feels like winter my nose is running Emily let me cut this up right away so I don't have to concentrate on cutting stuff
and
it's like a neat now don't wipe that on your pants it's not the thing to do okay now we're talking Oh my other button is almost ready so one last time Oh hot
so
let's be careful by the bread knife I don't want to cut myself Lena's chart
so obviously this video is going to be a long one or a longer one I guess say I know a lot of you have been asking for longer one so this one should be that kind anyway
and I know it's not everyone that likes long videos
because some of you like watching videos on your phone and I understand that it's not pleasant to watch a 40-minute video on your phone and don't do this at home he prepares clean okay so if you do see that it's a 40-minute video just wait till you get home and watch it
hmm
okay
I don't really need febris dicks I like to make some after supper it just you know relaxes me so
and at the same time if I happen to need a fire tomorrow morning well I'll have something in hand I don't do it for that do it just to relax relaxing purposes they got a beautiful fire right now I don't need
show you a few curls so I'll do that side then it'll turn it around and I'll do this side here and also it creates like a type of mushroom or something I don't know the tree just relaxing having fun oh look at the beautiful fire folks yep
I think I've sent this before but sometimes when you Widow on a stick you don't really need to be making something
just enjoy whittling slicing learning a little bit more about your knife
and just enjoying your time don't know you don't always have to be building stuff or doing stuff little tree
ready for the morning it's ever I know I may be lazy tomorrow morning it's going to be cold or maybe because it's going to be cold I'm going to get a fire going it's snowing right now believe it or not so I already have my water for the tea I'm going to show you is my I've got two to three favorite teas but this is my most favourite and I'll show you what it is
pepper man all that stuff but my most favorite is said uh that one chai spice black tea oh my goodness this is great I think it has a little touch of cinnamon in it maybe I don't know but it tastes great now you don't see the company name it's uh - there you go so if you're looking for a good tea to try out of course we have different tastes but I just love this and to add to the tea I shall have now these are amazing - rice krispies but chocolate rice krispies made by Laura Sakura see that I hope now those two together two two two two two two two
[Music]
that sit for about 10-15 minutes and we're going to have ourselves a tea hello Ross a car since 1913 crispy rice square chocolate chips hundred calories show you what they look like if I can open it up there now they'll oh don't look pretty okay but trust me look at this piece of goodness right here rice krispies with chocolate chips yep well it isn't that a pretty sight it's not just pretty it's nice and warm and I don't feel like getting out of the shelter anymore or the lean-to it's getting cold and comfortable here so I don't know this might be the last scene for the night I'm going to slowly relax enjoy my fire read my Bible and that'll be pretty much it I think so clear up clear up clear up come on boy you can do it there you go hmm gosh a light makes me look like I have a huge nose well it's not small but anyway there oh there you go perfect okay so anyway this will be it probably for this night anyway I'm just going to take it easy close that camera and hopefully we'll see you the morning so good night you guys take care okay so I did say that was the last time but
this in case but I'm taking my little blanket off there's no more embers flying and lift this up important that you're comfortable at night and
so I'm putting my wool blanket and my
boreal shirt so that'll give me kind of a high ground I'm in my pajamas let me get you a little closer here okay so
let's going to go inside I've got two pockets fold
Bible
I'll take care of that when I'm inside and on the other side I will put the camera inside here so hold on okay so my head will be up okay like this a little cushion inside here you can always adjust that this will stay kind of warm and I have a pocket there there there there add my parents are hanging with the rest now I know that my pads will be chilly in the morning but I am wearing we call these Oh long johns so all I need to do now is to get in and get myself warmed up because it's cold and I'll be nice and toasty all night long so okay this way this way I have a neck warmer hey pork to keep that warm and I have a hat so I shall be fine for the night so this is officially a good night all right take care Oh
by the way my man this is too strong here
okay
by the way the headlamp okay is does not stay on my head ever because you twist and turn night and all of a sudden you need to go to the bathroom and the head lab is gone not good so what I'm going to do and I always do is I put it on my head and drop it down to my neck okay that way it's always there and I know it's there and if I need it no problem and it doesn't get in the way like you think it would so all little tips are you guys starting of course there's other tips too but you know you can use mine sometimes okay good night
well good morning folks I hope everyone's doing well this morning uh really chilly this morning of course I was fighting my in my sleeping bag no problems there just getting out of the thing that's the worst right so right now I'm just waiting for that fire to start on the tone it shouldn't be too long I soaked it up last night a little bit so I can have some coals so I don't have to screw around making a fire and that will be long have that coffee that's going to be good
okay
desperate times
this book measures right here mark ah there you go except for the chills morning at the beautiful morning
well I just had a neighbor pass by didn't even say hi that's right there's read the camp these independent neighbors
nowadays the Fox nice to see anyway this will be pretty much it I guess and finish my coffee I need to pack up you know guys don't forget I forgotten but now I'm coming back but don't forget to enjoy yourself in the woods or as I would say enjoy the wilderness thanks for watching this is my crumble sapphire [Music]
