okay so I want to show you a secret place ready

sadly I had some horses not much water I got to tree hit fall I fell excuse me blocking your nice view but it's still not so bad now I filmed here a couple of times maybe three four times I don't want to film too many times because it's a secret and you guys can't tell anybody there's some mysterious thing that can happen like this Wow

I do this more often this saves me a lot of work you know I had to do this at least once in my videos so this is this is uh hmm they call this children I think it's the Adirondack tarp shelter or something like that now it's not as neat as people make him but I had to I don't have much room here but it's going to do fine now the one thing I didn't really like about the shelter is that there's not much roof area it's just a you know the point point end of it but the pro that's the con the pro is that you can go really deep inside you got like I know four feet at least so if the rain does come down at a certain angle a little bit you're fine of course this would not be a storm proof shelter

you're not announcing any storms or anything so but I like space and this provides it well let me tell you that the fall is here we got always lows of like five six seven eight you know in the 40s 45 about every night now so that's good there's a bit of mosquitoes but once the temperatures go down they're going to go down with it which I like

so good just getting some stuff ready here

three o'clock Sun Goes Down pretty early already like 6:30 and it's not completely dark but dark but right now before I collect some wood I think it's time for a coffee yeah you were right thanks for letting me know I know a bunch of you you know you're talking to me I can hear you through that camera just to show you a little bit what I mean see it's the end there's still quite a bit of a roof but you got a lot of room inside now don't mind my stuff that's my stuff for tonight so it's there's no freezing temperatures yet so all I have is that you know blanket I gotta remember and take my hands out out of the camera lens because it focuses on and I have a you're no roll mat and my sleeping bag which is good for zero or thirty so we're still good still good now a lot of people when they use the shelter they'll take this and this corner here and stretch it this way to make it wider and it makes it look nicer you know it's all stretched up but I rather you know there is I'd rather it be a little flimsy like that and to be able to close you know like a wall so anyway very simple yet effective today's are supposed to be a very cloudy day so same time I'm testing my camera and there's not much not much light you know any camera that doesn't have enough light well it will be as clear and I'm suspecting to lose some crisp or crisp teenis

I can say it that way but we'll see I was lazy today so I brought my alcohol type wood stove kit so tonight I'm gonna use it use it to cook what else that's it yeah I'm gonna use it to cook and a coffee and the rest well I'll just save the fire for a fire so it's less work for me so I changed my rig a bit I decided to use the fire box for my alcohol stove just because if ever I well run out of fuel well this bad boy takes wood and works great so nothing to complain about let's see here

okay I haven't done this in a while so I make I may look a little bit dodo one just love these little inventions just awesome so this fits perfectly here and the height Steve thought perfectly because the height is about a little over an inch where it's the hardest prop you know a lot the hardest gosh I'm running out of words again the hardest of the flame anyway right now it's just coffee so more than enough alright get my water in the crink did I say crink okay you guys are gonna laugh at me tonight or today or tomorrow it seems I I can't even talk so let's go to the crink let's go the crank and get some water okay I really like that that cold weather is coming now well the cool weather anyway

I got someone else Oh talk about another blessing Frank I know I didn't want to be mentioned but I'm pretty sure no one will know who you are except you he had a brand new GoPro Hero 2 with all the bells and whistles and SD cards and you know batteries the whole works and he wasn't using it anymore and he's sending it to me that's gonna be pretty cool because there's many times I was wanting to film especially now with that camera I cannot risk it I mean the other one no problem

I'd risk it a little bit but this one but with a GoPro now I'll have two cameras two good cameras and hopefully be able to do some good filming so and all the other guys and gals that are sending me stuff through the mail and those that gave through donations and those that even could give anything you guys are as precious your words I'm rambling right now okay but I appreciate you that's what I want to say okay I want to talk about one last thing and it'll be pretty pretty much all the talking much in this video but I want to talk about censorship not YouTube censorship but my censorship on my channel

meaning when I said that I would block you if you would you know give any nasty comments I had a lot of people who are confused about that and some of you didn't like it so I just wanted to you make you understand I'm not that severe

okay now God gave us free will and free speech and I completely am for that but there's some people that will take free speech at another level ala I don't mind any criticizing about me my videos if you don't have the same opinion as me and you write it down I'm not gonna block you for that I've heard some new ones on this video eBay grrrrrr you're a fake yeah all these things I'm not gonna block you for that but what I mean by blocking someone is when they bring not just nasty but hurtful disturbing and even threatening comments now I know even as a Christian you know Jesus died for sinners and they need to get saved too but I can and I agree but I've tried and reasoned with some of them in the past and let me tell you it's just like I'm fueling their anger I'm fueling their frustration and it doesn't get better it gets worse it's just like how the saying goes when a dog bites once you'll likely bite again well it's a little bit like that so that being said with my experience on YouTube and all these comments I need to protect my channel its interest and protect my viewers also because in the past and I know my viewers a lot of them you know they defend me and I appreciate that

but sometimes it goes too far between a troll and a viewer and then another viewer comes in and then all these

really bad words come out and I don't want this channel to be like that I want to have peaceful interaction as I said a more knit community and just think of the newcomer that comes in and watches a video and goes to comment and he sees all these nasty comments I'm gonna lose him he's gonna go he's not gonna feel at home and I want them to feel at home if you think about it it's like any community or I should say any church building your workplace your school hospitals malls anywhere where there's people and there's some kind of business or some kind of a community when someone comes in and starts mouthing to everyone and starts threatening them yes you can sit down and reason with them but if they keep coming you're gonna do something about it because you want to protect your business you want to protect the school the church etc so that's the image I'm trying to bring it's pretty much the same thing with my channel so yeah you can you know absolutely your opinions and your criticizing even if you're criticizing is bad it doesn't bother me I will not block you but any really tough stuff I just can't take that anymore one last thing you're gonna hear me talk about God in this channel and that's a fact and I lose a lot of subscribers when I mentioned God Jesus salvation anything about Bible I lose a lot of subscribers I think either I think the worst month was a thousand that I lost but as I told you I am NOT trying to build a big channel so in that sense it does not saddened me at all but in another sense it does saddened me because they might miss out on God speaking to them you know if they have an open heart God can touch them and even can lead to salvation so that's what's hurtful so if you're watching me right now and yeah I mentioned about God and it's not a religion it's a personal relationship okay that's a totally different thing please don't unsubscribe give God a chance let him touch you you know it's it's a free gift and all you need to do is to repent from your sins because Jesus died for our sins to come to him you don't go to a church to a priest to a pastor you go to Jesus he's the only one who can forgive you you ask him to save you based on what he did on that cross and you'll see he'll transform your life completely and give you eternal life that's the gospel folks in a nutshell so please don't subscribe and even right now if you're mad or frustrated stay okay I won't be talking about God all along my videos but I certainly will because he is the my main priority in my life well I'm looking for chanterelles let me tell you travel quite a bit and they are rare this year and well it's normal we didn't have any water hardly any rain all summer and even right now the fall but I am not giving up because I have a nice steak and I want those chanterelles even if it's just a handful well here's a few not the best but at least it's better than nothing for now still nice and fresh

a little dried up but it's a beginning man I want to deserve these you gotta get used to that camera in the sense that it's much heavier and I'm going through the brush like I used to with my other camera but I can't with this one I have to be very careful think Mike think okay not bad started changing color a little bit but that's okay this is the last day I eat chanterelles this year because there's none there's like none whatsoever

this because this one is like perfection and I know that water is the cause because I go to some patches I used to be and it's all babies they even they're just coming out and it'll be too late first frost they'll be done but this one here is in its prime oh this thing is beautiful this is when you should hopefully pick them that just a beauty yep that's gonna be good just take the major little bugs out of course you don't want to with any mushroom we don't want to soak them in water because they'll absorb it and you'll ruin it so I can't like just put it in there in the river take this part off oh yeah a hat is useful I found quite a bit well quite a bit it'll be satisfying let's say okay well oh gosh no I love this one yuck so I wouldn't normally recommend to camp by a river for a number of reasons as a lot of you know the first one is flash floods they really do exist and can happen if you are on on the river it's a much bigger than this one wow this is a creek actually but believe it or not in the fall or I mean in the spring drink meltdown there's a water up to here it goes down that's just drink milk fall I say melt fall hailey when the snow melts during the during the spring

I didn't eat these mushrooms yet okay yeah flash flood is number one danger cuz you can have a major storm ten miles away on that river you go to bed and all of a sudden in the middle of the night you'll go swimming and it's happening people have died of it so always make sure

like here I know I'm safe now this comes from the mountain the top of the mouth is not too far here and there's no hurricanes coming or stuff like that oh by the way you guys going through hurricane I'm praying for you my heart goes for you man those things are nasty anyway there's no problems here I'm safe second and that depends on the time of the year is rivers obviously aren't always in valleys and when it starts getting cold well obviously it it's like a cold well our cold channel there's many names for it so yes it'll be colder by the by the water more humid so you wanna go a little higher not the top because at the top if there's wind you'll be cold too and if you make a fire your fuel will go by fast you'll need lots more wood anyway you just stay about in the middle or just a little higher not close to it and another reason which is not so much as important but I guess it's a choice preference some people are annoyed about of the water or can't stand it like right now there's hardly any sound but when there's a good rush of water people can't sleep with that others can some people rather sleep far away from the water because they feel like they need to hear at all times if there's some someone or something coming so when there's rushing water it you know love blinds but it stops you from really hearing anything else and some people don't like that and the fourth reason well most animals are active at dusk and during night and they need to drink so if you didn't see in your and there's an animal trail well if you don't want to be bothered by them big or small don't can't buy it so those are my four reasons really but to each their own but the most important is flash floods you don't want to die in that okay so this is ready time to collect some wood you guys want to do it for me I'm comfortable right now yeah you okay anybody else you all right are you guys you guys Rock met you two go ahead I'll be waiting

I know there's people out there being trolled for cutting dead trees well control all you like this guy is they're all stuck together so okay hmm I was wanting to put this guy right on you well not on you but I wasn't thinking that the camera was there so okay thank you don't need you shall be sufficient what surface it is sufficient sufficient this okay let me just did you do this again this will be sufficient for tonight yeah okay so the first course of Sapa this is what I was talking to you about Idaho spuds now just this is seven servings now of course I don't have this fool there but it goes a long way it's expensive but it's good okay usually Josie does this know if I'll be able to do the same as her now of course you have to rehydrate them first

just boil some hot water and follow the instructions let soak for 10-15 minutes you don't eat that and he's salt or pepper they're already seasoned so I'll probably be making a mess of this we shall see

Josey where are you she made some nice I know if it's I didn't put enough oil there's no way I was gonna turn them I like it when it's golden brown so looks like it's not gonna happen so I'm gonna need to just eat them like that that's all yeah I guess I didn't put enough oil I don't know but I'm eating it just like that that's it

cuz I sure you don't want any gosh there's a lot of flies here a little bit of pepper hey you sure you don't want any hash browns with your ketchup nah I'm good like this time to eat hopefully it will have better success and by the way this oil is virgin olive oil

I won't need to spice these up because I have a steak that's already spiced up keep an eye on these nuts burn them it's gonna be good do good mood [Applause]

okay there another thing I like about cast iron well we all know this but cooks evenly all that good stuff well that thing stays hot a long time and when you're out here that's a good thing because your plate stays hot this will stay hot for quite a while usually you have to eat quick especially now I can you know sense the temperature dropping got some chills with my food is going to stay nice okay this is going to be I know it's gonna whoa whoa soak it in the juice you chanterelles now I'm going to show this just once okay

Oh Oh don't want to lose my chanterelle please oh oh no stay there stay push hard-headed chanterelle anyway I can't turn it and show you okay anyway this is the only time you'll be seeing this okay hmm where are you know what oh yeah my central too bad they couldn't get any more of it I'll just give you a nice look Adam did I say Adam at them speak proper English this is the last time you'll be seeing them this year anyway this time I'm putting my hand oh boy see it captured them yeah I know that there's a lot of people who love morals morals morels anyway those mushrooms but for me personally nothing beats that you chanterelles are just awesome yeah more awesome

- juicy I think that camera is good in low light because it's actually dusk you know much darker and that what you're seeing right now that's a good thing not only is it good when there's Sun it's also good in low light so I'm gonna slowly eat my meal and we're gonna light a fire see your Sun Goes Down 6:30 sunset a quarter to seven it's in an hour so we'll light our fire a little later than usual I don't have tons of wood but I have enough for tonight I mean it's getting chillier we feel it I have to put my jacket so after I finish eating this I'm going to clean up my mess wash my dishes and just relax maybe get a little bit more wood now I know what you may thinking or what you might be thinking this is dangerous as close to the tarp actually there's no problems at all I'm a Bigfoot from the top it's impossible very safe miss you see oh you know I wouldn't even be afraid to use it right in the tent hanging from the center as long as I'm at least a foot the flame is what's gonna cause a fire there's no embers or sparkling with this candle it just stays this high so no problems

hey welcome to bushcraft Barton's channel in the middle of the night just testing testing the light because I want to use that that through night from now on for night filming and I'm just making a scene here to see if the camera is good and if everything works if ever I got something to show you at night I think sometimes night filming is kind of boring you know I accept showing the fire a few times there's not much you can do with a camera unless you got some light so this is a test right now it's that's why you just saw me probably wondering why I was putting that post earlier well the flashlight is on at this lying on its side right beside the camera so hopefully that's gonna work yeah well it's a nice cool evening it's about nine degrees I think about 50 and yeah mosquitoes are gone bugs are gone I would pile is like oh I have maybe another hour and I'm not cutting any more wood it's already it's 9:15 so at 10:15 or 10:30 I'm gonna hit the sack do a little bit of reading and go to sleep you know these next videos that I'm doing you're seeing me probably taking some weird scenes and a lot of them I'm doing a lot of testing with the camera you know just to get used to it so it looks cool there's an autofocus on there that I'm not used to so I have to be careful I'm really I'm really enjoying it all right I guess I'm going to shut her up the camera and put the camera away maybe take a few more shots have fun see how it goes and then go to sleep kind of chilly but I got to do it so brush my teeth and we shall see you in the morning I don't want to look at you coz I'm gonna blind you like these now I'm blinding myself your night morning whether they say right in the morning sailors warning yeah there's some mean-looking clouds out there I think it's gonna rain there's a wind and it's cold it's gonna be cold rain I know I need a coffee oh yeah that's gonna work let's do that don't do this at home how about coffee in bed I've never treated myself to coffee in bed ever ever ever in my life how'd you count yourself pretty blessed you know this is first time you see bushcraft Barton is having I should say Mike Barton

well not action-packed but you know to the point and dinkle doom but some other people want to feel the whole experience of coming out here because I know that a lot of you mentioned and even in the past

that you never experienced that you can't come out you know for whatever reason so you feel like you're with me when you see it and I certainly feel like you guys are with me now because you're watching me aren't you yes you are I was so tempted to start drinking this but it's been quite a long time since I burned myself so I'm getting kind of wise in that area okay so I guess that's all I got to say right now I know what's gonna rain and I got stuff to do today and I'm gonna try and try and get out of here without being poured on hopefully have my coffee and start back in oh yeah that's what I'm ready with

so this is how small the sleeper light snuck back see my hands about a foot high and maybe eight to ten inches in diameter so far you know spring to fall it's not so bad not so bad at all and

I also know I also know that a lot of you have been asking about gear I use in my videos I talk more about it I always forget so I apologize for that maybe write it down in the comments and I'll try to make a list and once in a while just show you know stuff I use this is from this is a Karrimor pack at the Sabre 45 you've seen this before many times these side pouches don't come with it it's a forty five liter pack then it becomes like these either I think are twelve so you know 65 70 liter and this is plenty for me for what I do I'm not uh I'm not a real hiker like hiking 16 kilometers a day to get to certain places and that's not me that works great and well this guy is going to be I'm not gonna throw it away but doesn't seem to want to keep its air like it used to it was by therm-a-rest that's why I'm I have to get myself another fact I mean another I have to get myself another cuz you'll see why I mean how both he comes and the tarp oh I've had this tarp for my goodness I should say I've had this tarp for eight years maybe nine and if you treat it right and you're careful especially if you're using fires it's still kicking it's still going there's no holes in it I don't think it's Dede hammock three by three meter or just about ten by ten or something yeah it's a great size for my needs anyway

so if there was anything that you see in my vids concerning gear you'd like a little more information about just write down the low and I'll try and I'll try and make a list and once in a while when I remember I will show more of it okay so now harp tarp here and the camera equipment now I have to it's not like the other one was this small so now I always have to leave place at the top that's my bag there the black one this tarp I'm gonna come here this tarp and my cook kit gonna go in this pocket and we'll be all set how do you think we have time for another coffee Oh should I risk it so I could leave dry I think I'm gonna have another coffee let's do this now I love everything about this bag it's comfortable its roomy it doesn't have million pockets inside everywhere where you know it's pretty much straightforward the only thing that I dislike about this pack is that it has a hard time staying on its own you know it always tends to one - that's why I've got stuff here to keep some weight balanced so it stays upward but most of the time I always want once it's closed it always wants to fall down you know it doesn't have a flat bottom right it is ready he's going to let that way train wait my tarp is still there but it's just hanging by I'm just letting that burn because there's hardly any left this is gonna be good my friends yep cheers and no I am NOT taking a sip that smell good to you oh I can feel it I can feel it okay all right that's enough it's probably another probably another long video but again you know I just want to say again I know I'm a pain I truly truly truly truly appreciate all your support you know from your comments your financial donations your gifts like cameras and gear and stuff you know what if it wouldn't be for you and I truly mean that this channel will not exist and you know that very well and you guys know who you are I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I praise God for all of you so I have to say goodbye drink this coffee put this away hike out of here before it rains so let's do this properly this is Mike from bushcraft Bartons enjoy the wilderness [Music]
