all right just a little something for you guys those of you that maybe have purchased the Janus that Maxpedition pouch now you've noticed that you've got some kind of a well you got this that comes with it and well if you decide to wear it somewhere else on your belt this comes off so if you don't know what to do with it well would be good for tarps this is the USMC tarp I think it's 7 by 8 give or take it's not a very big tarp all right so let me give you a little look of this little makeshift setup it's uh you know a little different than what I usually do I thought I'd make something different so you got your typical tripod you know I just used sticks that's on the ground doesn't have to be solid it's just you know the meat hang in there and then I made a kind of a triangle exterior of the tripod and I use some longer Brad some a twisted branch to be able to fit my skewers you know completely inside as much as possible so that they're parallel to my fire below and for the Bannock because I didn't feel like holding it all day well I just use a two pieces put them one on the ground one on the ground the other one sticking out same thing on the other side right there right

so I can then lay Maya Bannock on and you know turn it as it needs to be cooked on the other sides so this first time you guys are watching me I do this once in a while it's one of my favorite things to do now this is not the 24 hour beef jerky that normally you would do this is a quick fix but it's still excellent to eat so this is the setup for today having a quiet little time I'll take about Oh another good hour and a half maybe for the meat because you want it you just want a little bit of heat to dehydrate at the same time the meat so it's nice and tender and of course I just you know put up that tarp because it feels like it's going to rain again so this tripod method I use just when I think it might be raining because what I can do after if I see it rains a little bit too much got some boughs prepared put around just to cover the meat not too low so it doesn't catch on fire just tie the ends up and just you know protect a little bit from the water and if you'd be in the summertime it protects it from the bugs and also will keep or retain a little bit more of the heat and the smoke all right so you leave a little bit and someone steals your place AHA because someone is hanging there right but I guess someone was getting cold

uh-huh is that possible it's nice and warm there isn't it all right okay so one more chore I asked you to do yeah get some water please and now I got something else then we'll be able to really relax

so we're pretty much set now got some meat got some Bannock some water slowly blowing up for us and I found an interesting little piece of wood here a piece of maple with a nice aged color you're going to try and make a little spoon you know cooking spoon just uh and I chose it because it's split already here

I don't have my axe or anything I don't feel like working too hard so let me show you a little closer this was a piece of wood I like the old age

and it was already split on this side so split it in two and with this one here I'm going to attempt a weird-looking spoon use the fatter side for the bowl so time to get to work well it's not work waiting for my food to be cooked now doing it this way is actually a technique but if you're not used to your knife yet do not do it so the more I look at this the more this is going to become unless my wife really wants to use it a decorative piece of course it needs a lot more work there this is actually going to be quite an awkward kind of a thing but hey I'm having fun

short fingers

as we go all right so everything is almost done I'll give another ol good 15 minutes at least

vanning to be done and the meat as well so there's your Banach she is almost yeah 15 minutes same goes for the meat meat is looking darn good we can focus just too much heat let's see if we can get through that heat now anyway let me show you what it looks like from another side now when you're doing this if you would do this to you know preserve meat for a long time you try and take all the fat out as much as you can because the fat will not dehydrate and will spoil your meat as you can see here a little bit of fat like t4 today there's no problem it's good that's yummy needs to be all like that right there all right so the Sun is out and just to give you a little it's out not much but it's out start seeing through the mean it's a good sign just a little tip this is the first time you're doing this I'll show you when it's cooked it's time to eat it's time to eat all right so there's one pass me the other skewer please mr. Sun is sticking out good nice oh man this thing smells so good huh oh yeah she's nice and done I know someone who is hungry trying to steal some from the all right so you see you just tear it see the inside how you know it's cook it's another sign I want to taste it camera woman yeah batter up mr. banner here and she is going to sieve out let's cook a little slight easy on your piece of wood

okay so that's our meal for for this lunch

can't forget the butter well another beautiful fall day just a wonderful time I know this video may be a little bit longer but you guys are great you're tough

well you can watch this long you've never tried this before I highly recommend it

have another video I doesn't quite a while back talking more in detail but it's that simple so we're gonna be eating this ah praise God for that son doctor suddenly was getting kind of chilly go anywhere you guys take care first amazing
