all right so welcome to another video this is going to be the second of three that I promise showing a knife maker and his knife is work you know small business so we can promote them so yeah we'll take a look at his knife and other things
all right so this is the knife that Sam made now this is made in Canada now please don't take a look at the this is a belt knife as well I just put on my eye my neck so it's easier for me to show it and please home take a look at the sheath okay I didn't order a sheath from him because I already had one laying around so why not use it and he gave me a firesteel with it and this didn't have a firesteel loop so I just rig something up you know with bank line a piece of leather I know it's ugly but it works and it's not going anywhere so never mind the sheath so first let's just take a look at the fire steel that he made beautiful walnut burl if I remember correctly super nice okay so the knife itself is his take on a puka knife it's called the aura just a thing of beauty oh one tool steel 3 inches and 3/4 overall of a little over seven inches spalted maple and it's stabilized so you'll have to worry about anything you got a glow-in-the-dark spacer here which is pretty cool brass butt plate finger guard is also brass and take a look at the cool work he's done it's all nice and hammered that's really cool and obviously you have is makers mark right there nice polished Scandi grind there's a slight my eyes are not as good but I can feel a slight scandi to it and let me tell you that it's really really sharp beautiful work on that Sam it seems that every time I want to show a knife there's no Sun that's okay it's winter time is to be expected so we're gonna play a little bit with this knife so I just you know just mentioned to them that you'll be probably make a scene that you'll start doing videos again and thank them for their you know their patience and stuff so already now hey folks its Josey from cooking with Josie I know that I have videos for a while that's from Sam Sam who Sam the guy make that made the knife for me it's okay just just leave the viola firesteel take a look of the night be careful when you take it out that's the surprise is from it's from Sam you made that for you look at the knife vs. favorites blue you've been very generous thank you sir Wow it's you know you always wanted a knife that's not too heavy but enough to have fun she loves batoning and sawing and all that stuff and it's blue and you go to matching fire steel you know ladies you guys love everything that matches it's not too heavy is it put this here be safe wow this is really I'm not Merry Christmas to me oh okay now you're seeing all this is my clumsiness you're have to cut this no whole state it's nice a firesteel Wow okay perfect Sam thank you again I'm not I'm not expecting this at all and it's a good today well that's the reason why I'm very very grateful thank you so much for making this night for me so anyhow I just want to tell you that I'll be making videos soon as I was saying I'm too tired to make video sometimes I have to work I'm working in the kitchen I'm working at the residence for old folks so by the time I'm done in the kitchen I don't want any more kitchen things to do for the rest of the night but I'm working on it because I'm working part-time I'll be putting some videos and some recipes that our folks but I do want to thank you for supporting me all this year in my youtube videos and thank you for your patience and your support to me and Michael I always appreciate you and the link to our channel is always in the description of my videos thank you Sam Thank You Josie Oh here we'll take a closer look at Josie's knife first of all let's take a look at the fire steel which is I think it's curly maple super Kydex sheath got your strap here can I ask my assistant to come and hold her a beautiful sheath okay this one is the big 7-inch you tillis from is smaller you Tillis I think it's a 4 inch blade but this is all one tool steel 1/8 thick just like this one here bulk ID blue Buckeye burl I know if you'll be able to see how beautiful that is and of course you've got some lovely file work yeah scandi Scandi grind it's polished I mean what a knife and it's it's lightweight and not you know it's it's it's well-balanced like for a seven-inch blade it's not especially for Josie I mean it's not a big big big chopper it's not a big chopper but it'll do nice chopping work batoning which she loves and let me tell you that all his knives are really sharp and proudly made in Canada and I want to mention something about the title a real perfection or perfect knife or something okay what I mean by that I don't mean that these knives are perfect for you or perfect for me not at all because we all have different tastes and knives and preferences and all that stuff what I mean is that Sam is a perfectionist and what I mean by that is his knives are flawless he really takes time even in the detail every time even the ricasso here is just you know it's perfect everything is perfect on these things and yes the you wanted to know the spine is sharp you know what Josie I think I changed my mind I think then they keep this night why not she is looking at that night I'm trying to make a review here Josie but she's looking at me and she says her eyes are give it back okay so what we're gonna do is you know it seems like every time I want to show a knife it's not sunny and it's too bad but it's to be expected we're in the winter time but this thing is not just a piece of art this it it's what it's beautiful yeah and it's going to be useful right because you're gonna be batoning with this and doing a little bit of work now we're gonna be playing again with these little knives here this is one small one big one but being that it's wintertime you know the wood is froze and all that it's not as much fun so we're gonna do a few tasks but you know what I'm not worried about these blades anyway super well done Sam so what I'd like you to do with that knife today to show them how it works you know but torn a few pieces no you need to chop a few pieces of wood and do some it's okay it's made to hit well you're gonna have to be talking with it a little bit she seems to be brilliant
a sharp you need to enjoy a sonic kitchen you could use in the kitchen Josie sorry about the camera cuz it's snowing I'm trying to protect this camera this bag is in the way sorry for the trench French so Josie's going to she can't wait to hit that knife you know what back up a little bit yeah yeah she's checking to see if there's a scratch every time we go out you take care of the toning is actually addicting yeah well it's making nice curls just me that has to control the knife that's all forgive me for that but well that's damp froze so the wood I mean they're still slicing pretty nice try and do the edge of the wood the other edge no on the side no on the side of the wood oh yeah good job you know even though it's big it's still controllable for a lady's hand Josie you owe me yeah you won't see me using it cuz she doesn't want me to use it okay so it's so your knife doesn't have too many scratches
effortless I mean that I really mean it nice control there's like no effort I could do feather sticks my hand is not tired at all right now I'm at the end there but look at that very sharp good angle on the edge you know it's awesome [Applause]
[Applause]
okay I completely forgot to bring this awesome awesome letter in the woods take a look at this now when's the last time you guys opened up a sealed letter a waxed one I don't remember that's a very nice touch Sam awesome so nice I don't feel like opening it but let's see your lawn doesn't break they just not wax yeah some kind Oh what it is but gosh shouldn't have broken this now but it's very beautiful now that I've destroyed it okay someday there's his info which will all be in the link anyway the description 7s you Tillis oh one certificate of authenticity Oh Josie's gonna love that she is going to love that she is gonna keep that look how beautiful and professional this is logo at the top very well done okay let's go back in the woods hello it's in the video because I mean I know I'm gonna get a lot of questions concerning the jacket I'm wearing and I'm sorry about the light there's nothing I can do about it but I just got it closed up just to show you the color okay it's a dark green now this is a parka okay
it's I'm just saying this for a heads up for you guys okay it's 50% down okay and the other 50% synthetic just got all kinds of pockets everywhere it's well-made it's warm it's got two big pockets you've got warm hammer hammer warm hammers those I go warm hammers in my pockets
hand warmers here inside pocket it's got a nice big hood okay I can zip it right down here
got some nice straps and cinches and all that good stuff okay here's the deal are you ready to hear it this is the deal hold on camera obey this is the deal I got this at Walmart Walmart
yes Walmart under a hundred bucks 90 95 or something there's different colors there some for men there's some for woman for ladies and it's a good price cuz it's well-made warm and I just love it so if you're in Canada it's in your Walmart's if you're in the US I have no idea if Walmart if they follow everything you know if they have the same things in their stores or not and no I'm not working for Walmart this is a free tip for you guys he has worked on trying to this is all we're doing she's in charge of the fire to be used to take the black now being that way the best way is to pull your fire steel good job so the knife and the fire still works huh hey that's a new style wow that's never seen that done before what say that again brought to you by who okay first fire with seven inch you do I miss fire outside did a good job with that thank you actually enjoyed building this that have fun with a knife to putting the putting the little branches on the bottom you know though that the fire can burn down but still putting the branches at the bottom you know the little kindling and putting the birch bark on top lighting it up then turning it certainly did so sometimes it's just quick in the moment the moment there you go
spur-of-the-moment nice fun thanks okay where's my coke sir [Laughter]
this is behind-the-scenes filming ill that it's a big squirrel with horns yeah this is behind the film behind the film what you do when you're waiting for a coffee yeah hey maybe we should start a series behind the scene filming when we're not you know specifically looking at or trying to make a scene just film what's not seems okay a well deserved coffee for my beautiful wife you work so hard I'm bringing you more often take care of all the wood the fire processing all right my dear friends I guess we're going to wrap the video here you have any last thoughts concerning the knife Josie when you used it with anything that you find positive for you personally as a lady it's lightweight it's its perfect length you see what I was hitting it a while ago it's especially the Josie in the past of course Josie is not big and strong and you know we she had other big knives like I remember a straight knife I even have a parang yeah Parag and but after a while it can become heavy right yeah the other one I don't know it's probably not even a pound well but that that one is very comfortable it doesn't tire your hands yeah it's really nice I enjoyed using this today I wasn't expecting it the tortoise course those are just like first impressions but that fits your hands about to you it's awesome
thank you again Sam I really appreciate to finish your year to finish her a year and just started well so far I've this is the second knife I get from him and one for Josie and Sam has been I know in business not that long maybe three years or anyway give or take and I've never been disappointed even just a two knives that he you know I have he just can't be disappointed with what he makes like I said there's no flaws they're sharp they're not too heavy and they're very useful this this little guy here man yep you're gonna be seeing this one in a lot of videos especially when I'm carving stuff or doing small odd jobs that thing is just like butter it's just it's fun to use cuz it's small I can go and dig easy and you know it's just it's just a nice knife so anyway enough of my babbling I want to thank you Sam for these knives
and I know I'm repeating myself but I want to promote this guy okay I want to make him more well-known promote his products this company and that's what we talked about remember working as a team I can't do this alone and just in case or someone new looking at this what I'm trying to do is any bushcraft related product that comes my way now and it's from a small business I really want to shoot it out there but again I need your help
and I pray that you are going to help all you need to do is share the video everywhere you can and again it's not for me it's for Sam and I will leave the links in the description of this video check out his stuff it's made in Canada if you need a knife buy it I'd encourage him so you guys take care this is Mike and
