winter is beautiful it's a lot of fun at the same time it gives you a good workout ride my dearie okay more bushwhacking okay so we reached our campsite let me give you a look what it looks like this winter my wife looks the same the Louie pile for the fall still holding on got our seats fire pit and our teepee still holding up which I guess is good I need to clean that entrance in we're not gonna spend the day in there today we're just gonna take care of the pit here and there so something and spend it outdoors completely I still need to get some stuff in there so okay let's try this out hallelujah this feels good my friends well I hope that going into this new year was a good beginning for all of you just before Christmas it was like maybe ten degrees give or take and Celsius no snow around 50 and Fahrenheit and we didn't think we'd have snow but Old Faithful winter came knocking and there's a good three feet two to three feet to you know depending on places yep a few things I know a lot of people have been asking about this hammock chair especially the new viewers if you're interested it's eternal challenge Jeep he's got a YouTube channel you can get a hold him through this channel if you're interested maybe I'll put a link and also a lot of the a lot of people have been asking about this parka here this is an old military French park and maybe 70s that I got from surplus army so I can't really tell you you know II just look in your surplus army stores that's what interests you it's fairly warm it's not warm like the Canadian parka but I find the cane park a too warm because our winter seemed to be not as cold as they used to be so anyway this is our first outing of the year 2016 and in the next month I don't think I'll be able to make too many videos because we are very busy but what I have planned for 2016 quite a few things I hope I'll be able to put it all in got some canoe trips and anyway you'll see as time goes but in the next month or so maybe not too many videos but middle of February it'll become regular and of course you'll be seeing some sharing again of maybe different products knives of course you know I love knives I know for some people it's becoming a pain I'm sorry about that but I got a problem with knives but anyway I just like to share and promote you know new knife makers and all that stuff so you're gonna see some of that also I really want to you know thank all of you I'm very grateful for 2015 for all my faithful viewers your comments your likes your sharing and also supporting Josie's Cooking Channel our website the Amazon store you name it you guys know who you are and thumbs up to you we really appreciate that and for the new viewers the new subscribers well a warm welcome and I hope you're gonna find something interesting in the year to come I like to do mostly outdoor videos I know you've seen a lot of sharing on knives these past months before but my main video making is being out here that's my message you know to enjoy the outdoors to inspire people to go out but of course you have reviews once in a while if I took a look at my videos and if you're new you can go back and take a look at them there's only about fifteen percent or less of reviews all the rest is outdoors so that being said sit down a little bit and I need to get some wood make a little fire have some coffee a little lunch and we'll chat some more so don't go away of course you can always get pieces of wood need to get my anger all right so one of josie's Christmas gift is a little pocket boy she's gonna try it out for the first time now remember that this cuts only wouldn't you pull okay so when you push don't put any pressure Jack down just go you just push normally and pull hard push gnarly and pull hard you'll see it's gonna cut well so you like that thank you all right now you got more chopping or more sawing to do so we can hear some open water running here I didn't bring my ax I don't feel like digging need to put some water here but I see some open and running and water there so let's try and get there without hopefully pulling in anything
it froze quite a bit a few nights so they look at beautiful water and you can see I'm not the only one drinking you got a squirrel coming to drink here go through this okay okay so we're back with Miss Josie and this is our second gift this Christmas it's a condor rang and I have to say that even though it's condor I was quite surprised of the quality of this thing and if I have a choice in the big knife that would be a Peron just give you a quick look
I think the steel is 1075 you know like probably most axes normal axes and she always wanted a pair you go sideways I'm gonna give up what can't give up that easy this one okay I'm saving my energy give a good whack you're not working hard enough there yeah thank the camera if you want to work a little better yeah I know you wanna save energy well you gotta hit harder yeah try the big piece right a big beautiful just hold it make sure it's against the piece of wood so doesn't bounce there you go okay I think they've had enough watching your hack
yeah but off-camera I think someone is and blushes getting the win a baton yet more here yeah just about and she just got used to the swinging because you know with choppers grabbed a little bit at the end and everything went better
yeah she's got a strong turn to put on this big piece here pieces a little funky but what's your fingers there's still some good piece on in it for sure that makes a nice chopper baton er the whole deal okay people have seen enough of the piranha like this I love it well now we get the war they're standing there okay so I know people will be asking this is French straight bag that I had Malcolm make for me from the hidden woodsman I already showed you one that I had and I made a review over it so I'm not making a review again but Josie took it so I had yeah you can smile she likes it she has a reason to like it because as I've mentioned before I'm not a hammer psychic but guy I don't like big bags hanging around you'll work and this thing's always in the way you bend down whatever this one is just the perfect size and this time I had Malcolm make me the a tax camel color which is great it's different it blends in unto everything and you know his work is just top-notch one thing I did notice that he changed let me show you closer okay here it is okay now hard to see the real color in the video but one thing you did change is this here and I love that this is used to be velcro and they put a nice strong zipper by for another external pouch and I'm gonna show you something else that he's doing while I'm out here I didn't know the inside is just roomy and there's yellow so you can see this is to keep your things inside more securely these flaps well that's what I think anyway and it's got inside anyways yellow there's another pile anyway you can take a look at my review or there's tons of reviews out there but this thing here is new that he's doing I can't remember what he calls it but it's a signaling type thing well attached can't lose it Orange
I guess he calls a blaze orange look at that it opens up I don't know maybe it's 2 by 2 camera doesn't make this you know give it justice good it's really bright and it's thousands and near Cordura tough we've got strong attachments on the four corners so it's lightweight small compact and you can use it for signaling you can use it as a ground cover you know to sit on or if you've got paracord you tie down trees and you have yourself a little hammock chair and if you fold it the right way you could even carry some water okay I'm not gonna do the example here but you know what I mean it could be a quick cover over your head whatever but this is really cool really cool so again I'll just like I usually do anything I talk about today I will put the link in the description of the video if any of you are interested so you know wintertime can be a lot of work but once you're all settled in and ready it's really cool now we've walked a little walk to try and that's what I like to do make things hard I'll be able to take my snow shoes off and walk where I want it won't go without no problems you've got enough fire we're gonna have ourselves a slow coffee pretty soon and that's gonna feel good after all that chopping right don't sleep on me you can sleep later oh and I got a gift too well I could call it a gift yes it's a gift and I couldn't even say it's a Christmas gift because I received it on the 23rd and 24th and of course it's a knife dancer show them okay uh what yeah okay hold on now you remember um AAS Harding knives excuse me I owned another one of his knives and I've reviewed one once and you know of all the wood lure clothes out there he's one of my favorites and I got this from him and I mean I'm just blown away so let me just show you here I review the review just showing anyways this will have to do so here you go of course his work is superb just beautiful Harding a sh and he's got the dangler too that's kind of old dish man you can't see the the work on this on camera but anyway this is it and let's take a look at the knife this knife is just beautiful this is again bhaga bhaga bhaga wood you know that old wood that's carbon dated 5000 years about and this one of course is a little different it's got its brown and it's got an old grayish color I mean it's just beautiful and I know you won't see that on the camera
sadly different tones there's a bit of snow and ice on it there but these beautiful red and brass mosaic pans where's this logo there's the knife yeah AAS harding for the wood lure coat is just awesome and look what's on the other side my name how cool is that show you again if you could just see the wood I just hope this will come out nice on the camera it's just an amazing wood and of course his his handles are just about perfect I love how he makes them just one big swell in the middle those indeed here goes um deep there this you know locks here and that locks here and it's comfortable in the middle this is just awesome can't wait for that coffee to be ready soon also all you knife makers out there watching me listen to this I respect all knife makers because I believe that every knife maker is unique in his work he's got his touches his designs and in a way he's an artist and I know not for a fact because I've never made a knife but it takes a lot of work and skill you know to make something out of a normal piece of steel so I don't care who you are if you're a knife maker hats off to you and you should be proud of your work no matter what it is I mean it always amazes me that someone will look at a piece of blank steel and at the end he's already he has it in his mind at the end it's gonna come out a beautiful quality functional tool and he didn't even start working on it so thousand thumbs ups for all you knife makers out there
come on
I could put more wood but it won't change much I know I know we'll be cooking too oh yeah someone's got her a cup out like this almost begging she's coming she's coming fires nice keep all this wood standing close to the fire no just to dry it up a little bit as we have the fire going and see oh she's getting there she's getting there nothing better like a good coffee especially on a winter day let me tell you it's a beautiful one but here
oh I'm wasting precious coffee gonna be good
put here for now here you go my dear wife enjoy and cheers or what so our lunch is gonna be a cheap one today we're too lazy just your typical lasagna from what do you call that Chef Boyardee okay but the dessert is going to be cooked right here in front of you so don't go away
all right boys and girls we ate our meal now the dessert is going to be this I don't know what you call it custard something thick okay so now we're gonna take it out how it is now this has been cooking for 25 minutes and you have to remember that we have a battle between the heat and the cold on the top so I just put a little bit of that thing there but we're gonna check see there's a little bit of burn there but you know it's normal so uh show you the bottom is normal way it burns a bit you know this yeah all right whoa look at that
don't it that looks cool well done it'll be the end of this vid we're filled up now I'm three stoking the fire we're gonna enjoy it enjoy the rest of our day warm up get some stuff dried up before we head out so what I think I'll do I'll I'll just take a whole bunch of pictures of the products and stuff I was talking about so you see them better and let you go with that and well I hope that this year you have a goal of going out even more than the last should that be a good goal you go out with your friends and family you won't regret it it's always a good time out here clears your mind refreshes you and plus it keeps you in shape and yeah if you're blessed like I am you eat good ok so you guys take care this is Mike and Joe you
