Video Transcription
now you guys have been watching my vids for a little while you remember my new campsite we've had this summer unusual hot days every day is hot quite a bit you know it's not as far as you guys in the States like it doesn't hit the hundred but around the 90s and usually we don't get more than two weeks of that kind of weather here and it's been like this pretty much all summer and I'm at my campsite this morning haven't been here in at least a month and you notice we don't hear a sound have a Creek fairly nice-looking creek anyway where it does it has almost dried up I'll show you I was really surprised how dry it up it is okay usually this is well you guys know this is full of water look at that dry there's a little puddle of water left here and I've got these that you'll be able to see them whole bunch of little brook trout's trapped so I'm gonna focus you okay see so that's not good I'm making a video in a fire box I want to boil some tea good thing there's some water left here I think it's gonna be worth before I make the video all right check out bigger puddles I'm just gonna take a little walk along the creek a firebox she calls a fire box his name is Steve you sent it to me to play with it play around with it so we're gonna take a look at that and at the same time well I got something from Australia as well which is called fat wood fat wood from Australia take a look at those two things in just a minute okay just before we look at this firebox a few things I want to say before I forget this is the fat wood that I received from Australia from Rob rdp project no introduction to him you guys know him and I guess this was sent to him by let me see here au survival fairly new channel and also mr. rapper 84 I'll put both their links down there because they both have to do something with this fat wood and their new channel so you can check them out and I'll put rods channel also just below the screen also I will put because when you see me play with this fire box I'm gonna be clumsy I haven't had a chance really to play with it so I'm gonna look a little bit dumb maybe and just in case you guys are interested in seeing this a better review and what this stove does I'll find a link to his channel and put it as well under so fire box first impressions obviously this is not an ultra light type of stove now if I say anything that you know that I mistake miss say anything that has nothing to do if I'm wrong Steve if you're watching please correct me I think this weighs about two pounds I think Steve had in mind to create a sturdy stove something that will last a long time that will not you know twist and turn and all that good stuff it's made of comes with this little bag here it's made of stainless steel and I think it's 18 gauge which is very thick especially for a stove like this if you don't know what 18 gauge means it's the thickness of the steel now this stainless steel I think is 18 and I think Steve said in one of his videos that most of the stoves out there I made out of 22 or 24 the smaller the number the thicker the steel Justin you didn't know all right so I'd say it's around seven inches this way and maybe five that way so let's take a look here take these two things apart all right this pan off and you can't really go wrong when you do open it you can't really lose parts you know unless you lose you lose these parts here and there's only really one way that you can make this work so you open it up and the bottom part is down here but you just close it's set I'll show you the different sides to it now it looks like diameter of the square is about five inches so it's a big stove it's a big stove yeah better look guys interested in seeing it wind breaker I believe and you've got all types of holes for adjustments and stuff you've got this pan over here that okay not that way
let's be patient with me guys haven't played with this much okay so the pan which is the ash pan slides right under there okay so you don't burn the ground wherever you are and you have all kinds of slots here everywhere to be able to adjust anything you need to adjust now if you put it lower you can put your let me turn this you can put your fuel on top here and then put your pot at the top something else you know there's all I won't mention all the adjustments because I don't remember all of them but you guys are smart you can you know use the imagination actually what I'd like you guys to do if you want just by taking a look at the stove whatever things you think I didn't say that would be a good idea of how we can use this stove
write it down in the comments below for everyone to see that'd be pretty cool and of course Steve knows quite a bit of his stove so he can write some too so you can use your fuel you know if you have a fuel what do you call those things with the cover and use that and you can bring extra of these if you want put the top I'll show you that later also you can use the ash pan here put it at the top just a minute just this here I know this may look complicated because I don't know this stove but once you know what there's a way okay this way maybe no I like this this happens as you can see I'm used to just making a fire I'm not used to these things but this is looks like a cool stove anyway there's a way you can put this at the bottom here or you can put your fuel tab on this and then put your pot on the top so you've got your your fuel you know your alcohol stove whatever you want you can put it also here if you adjust this you put this a little lower to put your tab your fuel tabs on etc so these things here too before I forget these two hooks here can go on both sides so you can you know move your your your stove out of the way or if you have to move it without at too much accident and it's got the same holes here on the side so you can empty out your your ashes if you don't want to burn yourself alright so what else am I missing here I'm sure I'm missing a lot that's why guys I'm telling you this is not a review of this I just want to show what for you guys to see it's like a puzzle okay that's how it goes just like this alright so it doesn't go in it just goes at the top here
right put your fuel tab here and these things come at the top so you can put your pot on it and you can adjust it that's the smaller pod you can put for a bigger pot etc quite a nice thing okay so next step I'm not gonna test this full but it's supposedly a something that will boil lots of water at no time and cook your meal obviously it's got a big mouth okay so if you you know store up some nice pieces of hardwood some nice chunks of hardwood in there to create some nice big fat coals this is gonna heat up like you know imagine this is about Oh going on seven inches here or five inches five to seven inches deep of nice big fat coals will last you quite a while and of course you've got this as a windbreaker if it's you know winning this way the wind's coming this way and so on so I'm gonna find some fuel nice friend here find some fuel rigged this up and we'll test her so sorry guys for this unprofessional review but as I said I'm gonna put try and find Steve Steve's link to his channel you can check out everything he does actually what I'm thinking right now you know my teepee behind the small teepee makeshift teepee I made I made a fire pit remember once in a video and you can't make a really big fire
would be really cool yep yep yep yep yep this will be really cool to use in the teepee to cook and also to keep you warm for a little while and you know where to store up some wood with this you don't need much place you know just five inch pieces yep
that's gonna be great we're gonna test that some other time maybe in the fall so ok enough talking let's get this thing burning alright so what I've done now I've put the some tinder in my firebox you just start that make sure everything's ready
like in any fire because this guy you started this guy from the top ok this is the fat wood that Rob sent me I'll see fat wood that looks something like some good stuff so let's take a little swing at this you know using fat wood you don't really need a big pile sometimes you see people make it a big pile wanted to save on it you don't need to big one see like I'm pretty much done right now as long as you got the rest ready it should be fine let me just show you the size I'm talking about yeah a little pile just a tiny pile it's important to gather it so it burns longer okay let's get this guy up so what do rob good stuff as good as the ones the one we have here just kidding it's excellent stuff super you know when you take a little bit like that at a time even though this is not much it's kind of a last week quite a long time so let this guy burn up a bit add some wood to it let me show you a little bit gonna add some wood to it wait for the coals to come down and we'll make ourselves some tea stay tuned first thing I see notice there's not much wood in it look at the height that flame those holes down there lots of oxygen the big mouth man this make almost a bonfire with that we could sit around that so for the teepee for that small teepee well just a minute it'd be perfect forget the fire pit it'll be a lot safer think I'm gonna like this thing thanks Steve something else I like about this so guys is you can put right away some fairly big sized fuel and I'll create some coals really fast and I bet with this size of a stove I could boil some water make myself a coffee cook myself a meal without even adding wood I have enough coals so it's pretty cool look at those flames very nice you have a tea we're going to be having the tea that I'm really starting to really enjoy it's called a new cook that's in the intimate language and means the likeness of a person but anyway the tea is just amazingly good to have I don't know what it's made of but I know there's at least blueberry in here mmm comes in the civil here this aside get some water get this water boiling few good points I want to mention again about this stove well first of all it's sturdy and I know I didn't explain it well but there's quite a bit of things you can do with it it's not just a wood stove you can use your you know your alcohol stove if you lower your pins bring yourself to extra pins if you want you know you can do all kinds of stuff with that tabs fuel tabs but it's basically used as a wood stove now what I like is that it doesn't take much wood amazing actually just put a couple of nice big pieces in there and you know I didn't put much that's all there is it's maybe Oh quarter full maybe a little more and I like that don't have to chop some so much wood also it's very stable now I've got this Billy can up there that's three-quarters full I just put it on there and it doesn't move you know very stable I like the fact also that it's a big gauge stainless steel it's gonna last a long time and this is going to be actually very very good for my makeshift teepee here for the inside because it's not very big I know it's all messed up I need to work on it but for the size it's gonna be great to cook on and also to use as a heat source because I just put some you know some soft wood in there but if I click myself just a few pieces of hard wood that's gonna last quite a while filled up it's gonna give me a lot of heat from four sides for the teepee so Steve I want to thank you very much for sending me that it's cool I like it very generous of you and guys if you got any questions about this stove I'm not the kind of guy that will be able to answer him properly so again I will leave the link with the other links down there and you can ask Steve about it thanks again for watching now I want to enjoy my Inukshuk this is Mike from bushcraft partners bye
