got a bucks off for Christmas and I wanted to share with share it with you guys and I know some of you guys already own this I know Jim has it and I saw skull get it for Christmas as well and I was looking actually for a collapsible buck saw and well after seeing scope and I said okay that's exactly what I want collapsible because you know it's much easier to bring in the bush then you know the normal big metal ones so I was tending not to bring any because it's always a pain but something like this is awesome I can't remember exactly that the website the name of the website it's going to be the title of this video is going to be where you're going to find this just google it up if you're interested not too expensive maybe like in the States I don't know about the shipping the states but just to buy this is 35 bucks u.s. it comes with a nice canvas bag or I should say sheath right it's good stuff it's nice and thick and it's got a I guess a kind of you must of waterproofed it with wax it's 2 foot long and what I'm going to do would be a lot easier I'm just going to put this guy up

and then we'll talk some more make sure I don't lose my arranger bands such may be a little awkward putting this funny guys like that but anyway I'll do my best

don't merriment yeah this is really awkward but anyway be patient be patient for several things entangling in this maybe I should have put it up first before showing you okay make sure thing is in its place stick is now in the middle but that's fine all right so this is what it looks like

okay now the wood is made out of hickory and the blade is a back hole blade so I'm not mistaken I'll just put it see if you can see it back oh all right now it usually comes with comes with the steel a steel bar in the middle with wing nuts I didn't want that that's just preference alright for two reasons I like the traditional method and I want to save some weight in my backpack of course it doesn't come like in this color it's the white white in your natural wood I wanted to you know stain it because well around here when you play in evergreens and stuff like that it gets dirty and this lighter wood would have showed too much and being like this it won't show how dirty it could become and plus I find it looks pretty cool I tried to make it look like you know old wood the middle piece here alright I just carved a piece real fast out of maple to make my middle piece now what's neat about Hickory Hickory is probably the best wood to use for this it's not only used for that it's also used give me my accident please chosen it's also used for you know good axes hammers and such they use Hickory because Hickory can take shock very well and what I mean by that is that when this piece of wood gets shock on it on the on the wood itself instead of staying in one a specific place the shock will go evenly all around the wood now that will happen especially with axes maybe not you know less a hacksaw or I mean a buck saw but still this tells me one thing about the maker is that he makes he likes to make quality stuff and at a fair price he got very good wood easy to install and a very good blade as well books ours are bow saws I mean if your backyard is the desert or the jungle you don't need this right but if you're in my neck of the woods like me this is almost a must all right actually this and an axe they go together they go together they're actually just like twins

you know maybe not identical twins but they're hard to be separated because they go well together let's say this is the boy and the buck saw is the girl so I think it's north northwest buck saws anyways you'll see it on the title if you're looking for a buck saw I recommend this one absolutely it's not too heavy it's well-made and another reason why I want wood well two reasons again I love the traditional style and second when I work with tools most of the time I never wear gloves I don't know I can't seem to work with gloves I wear gloves okay I'm not saying I never do but when I work with tools I rather not do and wood especially in the winter like today is not as cold as your aluminum or whatever steel you have so while I'm here I want to talk about one last thing and I know this you know a lot of people may not like what I'm about to say but I still have to say it an axe and the box and the book saw are very important and I'm talking about you know where I live in Canada I know there's lots of debates concerning large knives and I understand the debates and I understand their usefulness but over here they won't do well and let me tell you why first thing if you think about the winter and cold conditions around here anyway and I'm talking about firewood you know you have to make get some fart lots of firewood or if you want to you know build a fair sized shelter you know these two tools will do the job a knife you're going to have a hard time again two reasons first reason well we're in very cold conditions here at times and what happens to your blade is that it becomes as cold as the weather outside and the wood is twice or maybe even more harder than normal so imagine that knife just hacking and hacking at this piece of wood that's hard your blade is extremely cold what is going to usually happen your blade is going to chip or I've even seen the blade of a knife you know break right into you know it doesn't matter even if you have the best steel on your knife or is the best tempered steel colt is a big factor and that's why a knife here a large knife is no good that's why an axe is there for a reason its strong its thick and does the job and another thing when you try and get some firewood or again build some shelter you need weight a big knife is not heavy enough an X is and at the same time you know it saves me from beating on my you know general bushcraft knife I don't need to do that you know the knife will could perform but I rather use the axe to do what the axe does all right each tool has its function and if we use them well like we're supposed to it's a lot more fun being in the woods and it's less hard now I'm not saying that if you're stuck and you have to use your knife you know to baton and stuff I mean you have to do it all right my knife if I have to do it I will but if I don't I won't I want to save my knife I don't want to beat it I want to keep it you know as much as I can I'm going to use this for what this does I'm going to use the bows are the buck saw here for what for its function and everything will go well anyway just want to let you guys know hope I didn't frustrate you guys with large knives but I'm talking about back here up here in Canada where it gets cold it's best to have an X and a buck saw and life is a lot easier all right I got some wood to cut talk to you guys later
