all right welcome folks I know it's been a while since I've done that inside video I apologize but winters here and when it comes to these little reviews it's a little cold for the hands and we you know me personally I tend to go a little quicker and I miss out on stuff but this should be an interesting video for your next EDC so stick around [Music]
alright so what I have with me is the brand new TC 15 by thrunite and my first impressions and having it for a little bit it's going to be very popular everything you need probably in an EDC but I wanted to you know make Troy make a comparison with something else that is also popular Olight the s30 r3 baton now this comparison is not to bash any company I love both of these companies I love their flashlights and stuff it has nothing to do with that it's just to come try and compare apples with apples and that's what I have here anyway and see you know what would be best for you and if there's any positives or negatives and stuff like that and I'm gonna be as honest as I possibly can so let's get into it now obviously this is a review mostly on the thrunite but again you know I'll throw in some stuff with the old light and compare and at the end we'll we'll check it out together so first I want to see or let's check out the what they call you know technical parameters and modes and stuff I guess we're a little bit more interested in the modes so this little flashlight has a max of two thousand three hundred lumens high of 1050 and you can read the rest you can pause it's got medium-low Firefly and strobe its impact resistance 1.5 meters and waterproof at ipx8 one thing I need to say obviously right here I know if you can see I can't see through the camera lens I got a look you know over that two thousand three hundred lumens last two minutes and it will come down to I think it says a twenty it's so small and that 820 will last a three minutes and you've got all the other limit minutes at the bottom here for the rest okay so we have a distance of two hundred and forty six meters okay this is on the TC three now Olight instructions now when it comes to instructions okay o light is a little bit simpler and much easier to read so there's a plus right there so it's pretty much all the same when it comes to how it functions but I just realized here this one has a maximum of a thousand fifty but for just two minutes then it comes down to five hundred I thought it was two thousand fifty max and that's it but no okay well that's a big minus there but anyway five hundred lumens medium-low and moon it's got the same impact resistance ipx8 also and the distance is a little shorter 188 instead of two hundred and forty six so I'm not sure if this was important to you or not but that's one thing that I that I see instructions are much easier bigger on the O light and a small you know through a night here of course this has nothing to do with the flashlight itself but I just put it out there in case that's something that
would interest you or not so this is it folks now I'm not gonna go over the you know premium aluminum body it's all the same it's all good stuff these two companies have quality you know smooth reflector you can see that I don't need to mention all that stuff anyway it's all gonna be in the description a link below but this is it now the first thing that I really enjoy about this flashlight is the new style here I really like that to be honest I know what you call that in English gnarling or but it's different then there are other through nights I love the black clip I love the size of it it's only it's about five inches think about that not really sure about the weight but you can check that out and link all these things interests you okay so both flashlights function pretty much the same when it's closed you just hold it you get your little moon or Firefly and you know you just go through the modes by holding it and anywhere where you are you just double click you get the high intensity turbo and this one has a strobe we can double click again sorry double click there you go okay
now this one has a strobe the baton doesn't so if that's the thing that interests you or not there's a difference there now let's talk a little bit about this 2-minute thing now think about this for just a second okay this is a small flashlight okay now both flashlights come with their own batteries alright hey I don't need to show the battery but they it's all included in the price 2300 lumens is a lot of lumens for a small flashlight this size and of course if it would last any longer something would happen it doesn't matter we're not there yet when it comes to technology I guess but it can't and this is an EDC flashlight so being that's an EDC flashlight let me tell you that for me personally anyway if I need that 2300 lumens which will be rare but if I do need it two minutes will be plenty for me to see whatever is going on two minutes is pretty long so it's fine it's got a maximum of a thousand and fifty so that's cool and you go you got different modes for reading or whatever it is you do so it's a pretty cool flashlight also both of them have your typical indicators I can't remember all the colors there but it'll light blue red or purple I mean green anyway Green is fully charged red needs to be charged and purple it's not charging properly I could be wrong but something like that and both them are very very similar both them also are rechargeable okay you've got USB port here no need to open that so that's pretty much it so I don't want to take forever to do this review because I know you guys don't really like that you like to see more of action or comparison so let's get right into that in comparison that's what you got okay when you buy the O light lanyard USB and charger and we all know about their magnetic charging system I really like that when you look at through night you have the flashlight and of course the batteries are included in both USB charger and lanyard 2 and they add some old rings and stuff in there to replace you don't have any o-rings with the old light and what they have more is a holster so if that's important to you or not thrunite has that more than the old light all right size comparison well you can see that the thrunite is half an inch longer and a little bit beefier this one is slimmer both of them have deep pretty deep carry pocket clip s-- strong clips
so this one is slimmer and it's not as long yeah half an inch about half an inch okay now if you take a look at the O light it's to me it's a little bit more fancier I mean you got the blue it's like a little bit more elegant it's nice I like this the rubber switch here a little bit more elegant than the thrunite
I mean thrunite is nice I love that I love it remember we're comparing here and these are just my personal opinions okay you may not agree with me and that is totally fine something else I want to mention the switch the switch is a lot smoother here that a lot smoother I like to switch better on the Oh light and I like this I know if it's rubber not too sure but it feels a little bit better to me anyway talk about more negative stuff here now I love how Oh light and rechargeable how the you know their technology on that is pretty cool but even though I like that better than anything else I do have to mention that you know it's like any other company it doesn't matter if it's flashlights
cameras cars even some of them managed to make their own stuff in a unique way that if you lose it you really have to buy from them and not about anyone else and this is a case with Oh light even though I like this I don't like it when I'm in the bush because if I lose this or if I lose our USB the other kind with the magnetic you see the magnetic goes to behind here okay I'm done I can't recharge that I can't recharge it anymore so to me that's a big no-no sadly so that that's a big negative the thrunite well that's not the case I got my battery pack no problem this fits everywhere are recharged at any time I want
well there's gonna be a lot of not debate but preferences on which one in the sense of size I really like this slim model a little bit more it's not as heavy in the pocket but I also like this beefy I like I like the feel of it I don't know I just like it I like both of them so that's gonna you know that's gonna have to be your own choice it's so beefier but it's okay with me let's talk about power well the thrunite has it that's for sure there's I mean two thousand three hundred lumens think about that on a five inch flashlight yeah it's just two minutes but still there but you still have a constant thousand 50 lumens let's see thousand fifty lumens for 90 minutes so that's awesome and that's disappointing for this one here thousand 50 lumens will last two minutes and then it goes right down to five hundred so that's probably why it's a little bit slimmer and smaller not too much but so there's a big plus here on the thrunite ice point now this is in US dollars you know these two companies mm-hmm excuse me make quality stuff I trust both of them but Oh light excuse me Oh light loses it completely here I try and I looked and the cheapest I could find maybe you can find cheaper somewhere else on Amazon but for this kit right here for $80 eighty ninety five for the kit in US dollars through night for all of this plus the holster is 49 so let's say 50 and it $30 less so again through now wins on that side clusion now even though I love both these flashlights I still need to pick one now it'll be probably three reasons obviously now this is same quality okay even though this is a little fancier and cuter and little blue thing I don't really care okay how how you can recharge them it's very important to me now if if you go out in the woods a lot this is much better
okay camping trips whatever I mean I don't want to have to worry if I lose this I can bring 3/4 of these in my pack or wherever it is I put my flashlight and not have to worry about recharging it and losing that so for that that's that's a big factor for me also the power hey why not two thousand three hundred lumens come on in this little flashlight even though it's two minutes that's strong and I I really didn't even know until I read you see man we don't even read instructions unless we have to do any type of review but I thought this stayed at yeah 1050 lumens it doesn't even stay at that which is disappointing I mean it'll come down on 500 but again remember these are EDC flashlights so how it recharges is reason I would choose three through night the power much more powerful even though it's a little tiny tiny it you know a little bigger not that much and of course third most importantly is the price point I mean it's 30 bucks 30 bucks you get all this and 80 bucks you get all that so I don't know but for me personally even though I like them both if I have a choice I need to go through night that's for sure alright so this concludes this video what I'm gonna do at the end I'll wait until it's dark I'm going to just compare you know I'm not gonna compare all the lights but the you know the ten fifty at least and then I'll show the two thousand three hundred with the through night and how it lights up and all that good stuff I'll be at the end of the video and of course the link to this TC 15 will be in the description of this video anything I review guys you know I'm I'm honest I'm not gonna try and hide stuff I never have but it's all to support this channel and I don't push stuff down anybody's throat I compared maybe someone will like this better go ahead buy it it's okay with me but anyway it just supports my channel and I try and bring you the good stuff before you know I refuse flashlights probably every week from companies because I don't want to show junk I don't what's the use going through junk for me it's it's useless and I don't want to use your time you have two good flashlights in front of you but we saw the positive and the negative so it's up to you to choose if you're in need of a good EDC flashlight so that being said let's go outside we're gonna do this quick cuz it's freezing out here about zero Fahrenheit minus 17 Celsius okay so to my right will be the O light and to my left through night
okay so right now I'm at 1050 she had great big pine there it's got a nice throw okay let's close her up now let's try the thrunite I'd say just about the same just about the same the only difference is that if I double-click I'm at my hands are froze okay at that there okay now you don't see this but that's crazy 2300 lumens in a small flashlight like that that's just I mean and look how wide that is and I like that in a small EDC flashlight
okay so to my right Oh like a little more natural for the thrunite even on the thousand fifty I think thrunite has a longer throw now let's pop her up at 2300 well I'm not sure if you see the difference but anyway if I put like this Oh light through night seriously okay case closed through night winds all the way thanks for watching the links are below in the description see you next video bye
