well hey folks this is mike from bushcraft Barton's you know since I've been on YouTube that's about well let's say maybe about over six years ago there weren't many custom knife makers nowadays it's incredible how they're popping out in the last three years you've noticed there's a lot of them and I'm actually happy that you know the bushcraft world or outdoor world forces these people to come out and show us their talent and you know most of us love knives especially when someone comes out with his own idea his own shape and his own purpose of design it's kind of cool and it always interest me especially loving knives so in this video we're going to take a look at another knife from another custom knife maker that's from the United States ok so the knife will be looking at today is from mr. Neil Whitney this is it right here ok so this is it right here you can see dangler system let me get a little closer nice d-ring you can snap it from your belt if ever as you can very well see beautiful sheets and stitched completely eight to nine ounce veg tan leather stitching is great nice solid sheets love it take a look at the knife real quick now this is a design i have not seen much yet it looks like some designs but not like this know if you can see it well there I'll try not to flash your anyway i'll have some proper pictures at the end it's a four and a quarter inch handle four-inch blade full tank instruction you got g10 scales with the liner's like liners this type of Steel is 1095 if I remember but you can make it 0 1 and even the the scales you got other options colors other types of material you've got your scanning grind and now you can see here at the top and the bottom is polished now the reason it's polished when I receive any type of knife as you know me I always like to give it a straw it done it did come in really really sharp ok but I always like to give it a strop now because it didn't get the whole bevel is because he's got a very very minor secondary bevel so I wasn't able to get it there but that's fine

the spine extremely sharp extremely sharp I wouldn't say a sharp as the cutting edge but almost it's really sharp and give you another closer look get the pins in there lanyard hole g10 is black and grey the grip on it this one's got a nice beefy handle as you can see and I love that it's got a good grip think have good control over it under what grip you use it as fine work mr. Neal so I'm just going to play with it a little bit I don't know if you've noticed of course i can't get well in the picture in there but you'll see in the picture it looks a little bit like a scoop them just a little bit the blade the better you know the belly going up of course it's a little higher than the skookum if I would take this here and just take this part off just a little bit it will look a little bit more like a school come anyway it's difficult to see on that but it's different different shape and I know because it goes soups at swoops up like this it's going to be a nice slicer as well so let's play a little bit with it and see how it goes okay take this dead birch tree pretty dad I guess right away right away I love the beefy handle let me tell you and you know it's one eighth of an inch thick spy so it makes the bevel at about 11 degrees I think he told me so bigger part tougher

i love i love the action of this that slice it just slices and because it's so beefy even though i haven't used it that much i don't think there will be any hot spots it's very stable in the hand yeah shaves through hard with no problems I'll find another little piece of wood make one last test use this dry peas slice this very well very thinly you can hear that which you love that slicing sound no efforts just making a little test here and you know what because I know I'm talking about about this but because the handle is so beefy it's not tiring because when when the handle is too small you're concentrating on trying to hold it so it doesn't move so that tires your hand but this one fits so well okay just a few sticks hair feather sticks now that slices alright so a few more things the retention is just about perfect just about perfect the finishing on the knife is just great it's uh mr.
