bug a bug out fuck in bug the bug [Music]
right so another hard day now I know there's thousands of videos of all those bags but you know what I have not shown you mine yet so I'm going to try and find a better area and we'll take a look at the bag right now not in the best of areas so be patient take the time to have make yourself a coffee sandwich hopefully we'll find a better place okay will I ever get to the top I thought that wouldn't be that high this mountain but that's fine let you know when I get there okay I think I've found perfect little place here nice excuse me nice carpet of moss so now I know the title says bug out but too sure I'm right on the title but I put that title of sole you can look at this bag like you want you can name it like you want but jokes aside I know that these are terms are import important ah but the bag that I'm going to show you is more of an emergency bag there are things in here that I could add tons but I kept it very very basic first of all you're gonna see stuff that has to do with the woods more because I'm a lot in the woods I don't live in the city so it's different setup if you're in the city also I'm not planning with this bag and staying out here for three months okay re realistically that's the right word this bag is for 72 hours I'm hoping that I will be rescued within 72 hours and it's mostly I should say or I don't know maybe for wintertime the thing that I have to be honest with you guys is what the things in here are used used more is in this scenario if I go camping or just go for a day hike or an overnight a lot of times I forget stuff so I go and grab it in there but whatever I grab okay I replace it if it needs to be replaced or I put it back because many times I will use some stuff in there or somebody needs you know I'm I'm a certain place and they need something and I have it I'll just learn the to them so anyway just think 72-hour basic especially winter last year I think that I know if it's last year but anyway I don't know the complete story but two guys left from from work at night and they got caught in a pretty pretty severe snowstorm and I don't know what happened they got stuck and I know if they got out of the car and tried to look for help or I don't know the whole story but they both died of hypothermia the next day they found them dead so you know these things happen and having an emergency bag in the car to me is important and of course I am often out with Josie so I do have some stuff for her but being that you're out with somebody else often what you should do is don't carry the same things I mean you can have a saw there's no use carrying two saws you can have water filter systems I use carrying two there's certain things like canteens that's okay but on her part she carries more of warmer clothes a change of clothes
medicine you know different stuff that you know she can carry her load if ever we try and get back or we just wait it out so that's one point if ever your to don't bring all the same thing alright so I'm going to take my breath I'm going to take my time showing you this stuff so it may be a little longer video may be a lot of talking on my part if it's something that you don't like that's fine okay I completely respect that if not well just relax and we'll take a look at it alright so the bag I'm using is an ilbe assault pack I think it was made for the US Marines it could be wrong now this is a reproduction it's brand new but I think it's made by the same company that did make them for the US military not quite sure about that but anyway it's a good pack it's well-made well-constructed and now I'm not gonna take any time to show you this pack because it's so popular and most people you know you guys know about this pack now is there any reason why I pick this one for my emergency no not really
I mean it's one that I don't use daily or often so it's when I had to spare so it just became my emergency bag for my car okay so this is about a know maybe a 1520 liter pack not quite sure there's one big compartment and there's the front pouch here in the front pouch and it's got good thick zippers I just I just love this pack alright so everything's a little bit mixed up so you know don't mind that I hope so I've got a spork here or a gas bork titanium and in front here start in the beginning that after but I've got part of what I have of food right now I have two mountain houses I understand it's not the most healthy but it's lightweight and when you're very hungry and you have nothing else you won't really care if it's too salty so anything else in here yes a little sharpening knife with it well sharpener I mean dc3 always cool to have something to sharpen your knives ceramic I'm inside you guys know about the fallkniven dc-3 I just left that in front so it's handy over here now I'm not going to open it but I've got a emergency fishing kit because if there is any hope of getting food fishing is probably that you know the most realistic anyway and behind right here I won't get into it but a repair kit all kinds of good stuff in the back here so that's going pretty well isn't it now let's get into the main compartment as you see there's nothing in the back okay nothing on the sides no pockets just straps
and of course it opens up this way okay so the main pouch open it completely from the top pair of gloves always important they protect your knuckles whatever it is you're doing if you need to do some work this is I don't know which company this is but they're good also canteen water boil kit I think I'm going to take a few minutes and talk a little bit more about this because there's gonna be some questions I'm sure as I've said before there are many things well not many but quite a few things that I will take out once in a while because I need it but I always reput it this is one of them I take out pretty often where right I need to do I'll take it out and there's some other stuff also but just remember to put it back in I chose this just because well it's lightweight and we can do quite a few things with this this is the heavy cover canteen kit the titanium one now I got this on my birthday this year because there's no way in the world I could afford that but if I'm not mistaken this titanium is made by Keith and I think it's from Japan now it has a cup and the lid I'm not gonna take that you guys know about these something I did because a lot of times if I open this up I will lose the cover okay so I just put a shock cord with a little clip so I don't lose it and I need it put back on alright okay so as you can see there's a sling here about sixty no sixty feet of paracord maybe about and it's adjustable now you can do that at home it's cheap to do just look on YouTube so I can either put this you know around my shoulders easy access to it and if ever I do need the paracord this does it doesn't become completely useless I can still put this on my belt now this is made by red rhino customs he does that for water bottles like this he makes them just for the canteen I mean yeah the canteen so if you have a cup with it this usually comes with a double now this is well made okay nice thick leather I love it nice big loop it's really well made but it comes with two one of the bottom and I had to take the one off of the bottom just because it would it wouldn't go in that well because of the lid and the cup cuz it's wider because it's not made for that but once you take that off it becomes super handy so let's say I do need this for whatever reason it's off I can use this put on my belt I can take the canteen out with the cup put the lid in my pocket take the bag out completely out put back the canteen without the bag and the cup inside and then I have a useful canvas wax bag that I can just you know use the cord here put it around the lid here and I have a handy bag for whatever purpose I need it for so this has multiple uses that's why I decided to bring it pretty cool okay so let's let's keep on here I've got loads of food I've got two more here well remember this for 72 hours and we could be - okay so it's important you need food if you want to continue whatever it is you're doing one good knife very handy knife this one is a striker you've seen I've got a video of this one one that you're gonna depend upon okay and this is one I depend on I got a video from this on my channel somewhere from David holdback okay now I had these in spare I didn't know what to do but you know what they're very lightweight these light sticks and could be very handy Shema --g always a shemagh you know all the uses or it's very useful anyway keep your neck warm good towel good water filter all that good stuff okay so before we continue this awesome video can't believe I just said that anyway just kidding I could you know it's more of a winter type thing but I always carry also in the car I've got a multi-tool somewhere there and you know some tools i've always have a a folder on me flashlight and my cell phone right those those could be important but i also always scary to wool blankets so i got one here another one right there and trust me had a few occasions i needed them
always in here now those wool blankets many times i really needed them and not an emergency but if I would not have have him or had him I would have to go back home as it was too cold but you know it's always nice to have wool blankets got to I mean Josie so that's pretty cool to keep it on now besides the main meals I've got breakfast stuff coffee
Renault low bars tea you know everything and even have a little bit antenna in here everything you know you want to be comfortable if you can bring it bring it don't be afraid okay also fire stuff especially in the wintertime the cold you don't want to start practicing skills okay you want to make a fire quick as you need it so I've got natural tenders I've got a candle always cool to have a candle this thing is full of Vaseline okay it's not just good for fires but anything you add Vaseline on will start pretty quick it's also good for chapped lips and stuff and I've got man-made also this is a fire kit basically okay what's next now where are you now it's nice to have some type of wood gloves okay to protect your hands
but it's also important if you're going to be playing with fire to have you know some leather gloves so I decided to put that in as well and if ever I'm with somebody else and they have no gloves well they can use it for something else so inside you have a pouch where usually the bladder goes in okay and can come out this the top or any other place it can come out here there's all kinds of ways anyway that's what I have in here another bandana don't we like band Dennis okay of course I've got to warm hats I think very important a water filter this is the the Sawyer one mini Sawyer now I don't carry water because where I am doesn't matter where you go you're going to find wire water all you need to do is purify it and other places you don't have to but I'm not gonna get into that either and of course a saw now this is the gum boy this is a 240 very useful what else is in this nice pocket okay first aid kit right now there's basic stuff in here and there's other stuff that I probably don't know how to use but if I'm with someone that does well he can have something to use it with all right so you still there well that's good you're patient you must like these kinds of videos I don't do them often but I thought this one just be you know just just fun all right so I just put back the stuff in the end of pouch er because I don't want everything laying around in here and this bag is mostly all hygiene you know soap and toothbrushes and toothpaste and no matter what situation you're in if you can if you can keep clean do it okay so more food emergency rations all kinds of tons of energy in these I don't know how many there is there's bar each one bar every 6 hours per person so you know in the middle of the day you can take this in the morning and go for quite a while this is from the US don't rely have never tasted it but it's like good like for almost forever there's no dates so yeah it's called dat Rex so that's in there I also have more food here and I know this is very heavy to carry compared to the rest but it's good protein pulled pork someone send me this as a gift it keeps like for almost ever or until 2020 anyway so it'll be good in there and plus I have another container you know to do whatever I need to do with if I choose so okay what's this cordage paracord I need to get into that II know tarp I can I can this is good I can cover too you know the two people I can remember the the size of it but it's nice and compact I like this Brown sheath easy ground cheese you guys know about these and you know what that's it that's my emergency bag right so as you can see there's nothing nothing fancy just basic stuff it's not you know the end of the world stuff but it's very important I think to just have some something for 72 hours just in case of any kind of little disaster or you know if you're in the woods often in the wintertime or whatever time and you run out of stuff well you have it I could also be a oh gosh what do you call those things you got bug out bug in get home bag that could be a get home bag - who knows but you know even our governments always tell us to prepare for anything all the citizens for 72 hours so it's a good thing to have just just don't overdo it
I mean if it's you know for 72 hours you don't have to have a 120 liter bag you know and carry 80 pounds in it I don't think that's that's the way to go but other people have different stories of course I undo understand that people have families bigger families and maybe they need to do that but I believe in sharing the load if it's possible that's what I do with Josie I bring some stuff she brings the other stuff and that way we can bring more of different things that we would need out here yeah and what a nice September we're having it's probably the most beautiful month we've had all summer 2017 I have to save the year does in a year someone watches well anyway I'm very blessed alright so I didn't come here just to show you a bag but the rest is gonna be off camera and that's just for me okay one other thing one last thing that's very important nowhere I showed you where I left my my second you call it will blanket okay what I do is is I leave my two winter sleeping bags and that is very important because if you get stuck like those two men got stuck last year in a snowstorm it'll be very difficult to get a fire going enough to keep you warm so if that happens you can keep yourself warm and survive in your sleeping bags but I leave them just in the winter right there just in case alright so I just bugged out now it's time to bug in thanks for watching [Music]
