okay so I'm taking this blade that's still covered up here and I've locked it into this vise and our epoxy has been setting now for about a half an hour and I went ahead and set this washer on top then we're gonna paint over top up while the epoxy was still damp so what I'm gonna do now is I'm gonna grind it off just a little bit more then I'm gonna heat it up with a torch and peanut over okay you can see I ground that down just a little bit more now and now I'm going to just heat the top of that up I don't need to get excessive with the heat okay it's been a couple hours now and I'm going back to that belt with the ears on that's very flexible I'm not really doing anything too drastic just yet I'm just trying to trying to shape what I want this handle and I want to kind of leave the bottom of it I want that Scandinavian style we've got a little bit of a recess in it here

it comes over and I think all of that really

it's just a matter of your own personal preference whatever you want there and I won't leave myself a little bit of a palm swell as well [Music]

and once you've got your handle rough shaped the way you're trying to get it then you can go back in with hand sandpaper and kind of final shape what you want before you oil and finish it and now we're just going to start coating some oil in this handle and I'm just using mineral oil here to start with and we'll have to use several coats of oil before it's over with here on this thing but this will get an initial drink into the wood and we'll just kind of keep going until it's saturated before we begin to work on our blade and finalizing it okay so we've taken it off now and I think if I hold this the right angle you can kind of see possibly the wire edge on this blade that's what we want to knock off with the grinder don't take a buffing oil with the black compound now

his white path okay guys well here's our finished Scandinavian style bushcraft knife see we've got a peen over on the back we've got a nice handle shaped to fit our hand and a blade just a little bit wider than our hand is one thing that's left to do now is sharpness test I'd say she's pretty short guys I hope you enjoyed this video on making a Scandinavian style bushcraft knife it's really nice and this voyager leather works next sheath of mine what i want to talk about real quick at the end of this video is pathfinder TV path our TV was originally set up for my instructors to be able to put videos on that we're about 30 minutes in length give or take and then be ad free of course it was a subscription channel so you had to pay not to get those ads and I still get complaints every day on my channel about ads and the problem with that is is that if you don't have ad sense activate on your channel you don't make any money for the content and the time that you're spending to make that content if you go to a pay channel then you're making the money another way because people have to subscribe to that channel to be able to watch that content and a lot of people will like the Pathfinder TV concept and a lot of people like the normal channel concept but you can't put content that's the same on both of those channels or one person is getting the raw into the deal compared to the other so I think what we're going to do is I'm going to my instructors have kind of dropped off putting videos on that channel for one reason or another life gets in the way of a lot of things so what I'm going to do is I'm going to take that channel over I'm going to delete a lot of the content that the instructors have put up there because I don't want to continue to make money on their content they've been paid for their content initially as they made the video but I don't want to continue to make money off of their videos I don't feel that that's right so I'm gonna remove all of their videos off that channel leave the ones that I've shot on there then I'm going to begin to shoot one video a week that will be a very in-depth instructional video very much like this four-part series that I just did on how to make a Scandinavian style knife in the first video that will be on that channel will be how to make a modified ma Katahdin to use as both a hook knife in the traditional sense of the term or Amaka tagging as well as hook knife in the european traditional sense of the word to use for carving concavities in your wood i appreciate your views i appreciate your support i thank you for everything you do for school for family important business all of our sponsor instructors affiliate some friends I'll be back them in the video as soon as I can thanks guys
