hi scooter here Matt home getting ready to do processing dear heights so I can brain tan them I've been out here with a commercial steel scraper it's just a flat blade with a bevel on it and you scrape these hides down to get this fat and membrane off so you can get it down to the white well I got six of these to do two of them with the hair on and a sheep hide to get brain tan here and I'm going to hope to do the tanning all at once so I don't have to make a bunch of different batches of tanning solution anyways like all these to get done I ain't got a whole lot of time to spend on this really and this section here took me 20 minutes this section here took me about a minute and I when I was playing around with I know you guys are going to think I'm crazy but I'll show you how I did this basically with a four inch angle grinder with a wire wheel on it I'll show you you got a you know pay attention to how you're going with you guys can see that goes pretty good it doesn't tear up the hide it peels out right off all the way down nice and bright white like we want check it out this is what I did with the blade this part here you can see how there's still some on there I have to keep scraping I look at what I did down here this is all the way down to what we want it's just peeling you see this hide wasn't skinned out the greatest it's just peeling that meat right off so there you go quick way to flesh them huh all right guys here's about 35 minutes worth of work see I got it 98% flesh you got to do a little work with the hand scraper here and there ain't going to get us all out of there all the work I guess see I put a little hole in it about the size of a dime or so right here I got a little carried away but how to put a hole in it with the hand scraper anyways I always do so there's a quick and easy way to flesh deer hides I didn't know if it worked it seems to work pretty good like I said not really any kind of traditional way or anything like that to do it but a good way to get it done quick it's been Steve Davis thank you for view so thank you for your support we'll see on an x-ray
