morning guys I'm Dave Canterbury with self-reliance outfitter in the path by your school win you know I shoot videos on the basis of what I'm doing for that day so it's kind of like every time I do a video it's a vlog of what I'm doing that day I don't specifically sit down to shoot a certain video necessarily every day

so the last few days product reviews have been coming pretty steady only because that's what I've been doing I've been looking at different products and one of the things that I want to show you today is the new 1.2 liter bush pot from self-reliance outfitters and we've been working on this for quite a while the one that I have hanging over the fire here is one that I've been testing for quite a while now probably about six months to be honest with you if not a little bit longer than that and I had some requests for a bush pot that was a little smaller in volume than the 2 quart Bush pot that we currently sell so I wanted to design something that would be multifunctional because that's the name of the game so this one is a little taller then you would think for the 1.2 liter size which means that will take a little longer to heat up than something that was narrow or shorter excuse me but it has distinct advantages in lots of ways so let's talk about some of the packing advantages of this bottle or excuse me of this Cup and I also want to show you a 64 ounce bottle that we have created that nests inside this 48 ounce cup stay with me okay so first of all I've got a box that stuff here this pretty much brand spanking new because I wanted you guys to see everything in its pristine state instead of after I beat it up so here is the 64 ounce bottle and this is a different diameter than the Klean Kanteen bottles clink canteen bottle will not fit in this 48 ounce or 1.2 liter bush pot only our 64 ounce bottle will fit in there but it nest perfectly inside that with your lid on the bottom so one option for carrying this is in our current bottle bag and I have

the cup already inside this bottle bag and it's a it's a fairly tight fit but it does go in there without too much trouble I don't like things that are too loose in a bag anyway because they tend to flop around so here's a 64-ounce excuse me the 40 ounce cup that was in that bottle bags and the 64 ounce bottle and I can take this lid place it straight into the bottom and put the bottle and cup set inside and it fits in there perfectly in our current design bottle bag

that's one option what I have been doing with mine the one that I have hanging over the fire here is I carry it in my food bag and it is exactly the right diameter again we do everything for a reason when I design stuff I designed it for a reason to be multi functional this is our current food bag made by Camp craft that fits our food tins I have one here that's got biscuit mix just add water one it's got dehydrated eggs just add water so I've got my breakfast essentially right here and I drop those in the bottom of the food bag just like this and then what I generally do is I can't store a tin of coffee inside this I could also store if I chose to do so and normally I don't carry them at the same time but one could easily do that you could actually store the nesting cup and lid in there as well just like this put this on the bottom and put all of that inside this food tin so put your lid in first cuz the lid won't quite fit on there with a bottling cup lid in there then 32 ounce bottle cup lid and you have plenty of room in there if you wanted to add two or three more tins of food if you're going for an overnight you want to make sure you have lunch as well and you want to put something else in there like some kind of rice or vegetables dehydrated something like that so this food tin works perfectly with that set as well and again the current bottle and cup nest inside of that so the other side of that coin is what you could do your choice could be to take the current bottle bag that we sell a current cooking kit in that has our 32 ounce bottle in it and nesting cup and lid which is this one here again I'm trying to use some brand new stock here to give you guys all of the options and if you take these and you take the lid you can drop the lid from that cup in the bottom put the cup in and the bottle in and then you have a 48 ounce Bush pot with the lid your 26 ounce cup with a lid and a 32 ounce water bottle and then you've still got a little room in there if you wanted to nest another cup on top of it you could do that so you'd have two cups and you still got room in there to put that in there or if you chose to do so you can take something like the alcohol stove and I've got two again I've got a brand new in here you could take the alcohol stove package that we sell and you could put that on top of everything in here very easily just like this and it will still close up inside the bag so now you have the alcohol stove the bigger pot the 1.2 liter pot the 26 ounce cup in the lid and the 32 ounce water bottle all in one package so it gives you a fairly versatile cook kit and you have a large pocket on the front side here that you can see we've already got a cook kit inside of that's got a fire steal a set of utensils as well as a bottle hanger now let's talk about the bottle hanger for a minute the current fish mouth spreader which this one is stainless steel we had these specially made these are not the ones you by bass pro shops or Cabela's that have the lead-based paint on these are a stainless steel mouth spreader and we have these made just for this purpose if you spread that thing out a little bit it works just fine with this larger pot in the lid let's take the one off of this cup or ball excuse me Busch pot fits on there exactly the same way because I slots in it and it has strain devices and restraining holes in it so this would be your 48 ounce or 1.2 liter Bush pot and again all of this stuff will easily nest inside of the current bottle bag and you can put your utensils your fire starting up limits and all of those things in there as well and have one kit and one hanging device that will hang both of your pots over the fire independently if you need to and that's a pretty good setup as well so when we developed this system or as we developed this system from the pan to the different size bush pots to all of these things I'm trying to effectively make them nest well together or nest well with certain products as well as be useful to the woodsman that's the purpose of all of this so if you're looking for a smaller Bush pot as far as volume goes to me this is a no-brainer choice it also can be used separately as a cup it's got measuring markers on the inside just like our 26 ounce one does to 48 ounces it's got the heavy gauge steel handles on them they've got plenty of room to get in there with mittens if you need to for a winter camp a nice lid with straining holes it's just a no-brainer system at this point we don't have a setup on our website to buy them as a set but you can buy them separately again this 64 ounce bottle is the only one that will fit in this 48 ounce Bush pot the Klean Kanteen will not fit it okay just to let you know but if you're going to buy this thing separately for use with your 32 ounce cook kit you've already bought it will nest inside of the new bottling cup bag if you've got one of those it'll nest inside that very easily for one complete kit with a 32 ounce bottle or it'll nest in there with the 64 ounce bottle you'll just be able to get less other implements in there at the same time
