we're on mention a to survival hanging out with Shane oh yeah we're going to woodcraft today what craft wood are I left yeah what craft beer putrid Stadium - what whatever they call these days possibly Bass Pro as well yeah right on yeah just picking up at our train station we're just hanging out and the weather turns nasty today I don't know where this is New England 60 degrees yesterday
yeah want a coffee or something no no I'm good man yeah yeah I mean I stopped if you're gonna go yeah right right i hungry grab something yeah I'm thinking uh we hit up the stadium there's so many on the last time you've been in the area there's so many stores there now even in like Bass Pro there's a restaurant you know yeah yeah there's one in the Prudential and I like just kind of stumbled upon it I thought it was like this cool place and now I'm like holy to change when I was in New York for the tryouts for a loan there was like 20 of us try out for the show
I was like starving eating like granola bars and stuff like just surviving off granola bars because all they had like they gave us was like a bunch of like chemical junk food and I like I just couldn't eat any of X I was worried I would get like allergic and sick and whatever so anyway so I knew that ahead of time and I literally brought like nine boxes of granola bars at me yeah and like after that I was in for like I don't know how long was I there for for the tryouts multiple multiple days I don't know a week or something in New York week but uh and they're finding a five but you died I found a five guys on a phone we had a couple hours off one afternoon right and I'm like I called up a cab company I don't know where I'm like in New York all the cab company might do I need to go to five guys like 15 miles up into the guy was scary drove like seriously 97 miles an hour in the highway that was like normal they just said we don't do scary business man I'm like it's like a cop car in the back of those things you just it was just like basically in a washing machine yeah it was it was near Bear Mountain in New York yeah yeah that's a beautiful area man that's close to Connecticut ish where you're just like maybe it's not the best restaurant but and you were so hungry at the moment that like in your mind always so like it's like dude those cheeseburgers were like filet mignon man it was like when face we're not good burger White Castle but that movie White Castle yeah these houses yeah do five guy to do it it was a hot meal first hot meal I had like a week without seeing like packaged food you know I was like oh my god it's steaming us
I'd like had that where I've been in the woods for like up to I think the longest I've ever camped out was like like I actually can't down not like car camping like a real cafe I've been like certainly unlike even for day trips I've been like out of my hot food and like gotten to the point where I just want something hot that I've like skewered sour patch kids and like that's amazing dude it's like we were talking about and like this property really want to find a spot on the spot you know you buy ice pop or you wanna camp right you go even further to find a spot on that game yeah for us when we're at like those was halfway up that ridge line against that piece of ledge that Lake remain you yeah right next to that River without a lack cherry tree well that was a nice and I think
he's done his property as you you know for what he has Pearl and we really found the spot this Bob right I don't even going to Foxborough like your whole life or anything but yeah I have actually I usually I've never really come from Boston until I finish college but there it is woodcraft yeah that's cool yeah same here so I've been going to Foxboro Stadium since I can remember seeing the Patriots when they had their old logo in the 80s when I was a kid and all that big bridge was built there oh my god yeah before there was dude that was all a single parking lot where like the gravel in the parking lot was just like chunks of junk yeah there's potholes everywhere and those a couple of like a couple of lamps here and there but like that's it and it was as far as you could see it was just a single parking lot did replays did things and then they like like the first thing that they they built after a craft bought it was um he put up a kit big canvas tent that's a Patriots place was first
it's called Patriots place it was a tent a single canvas tent and you walk in it was like a pro shop and they had like $150 jerseys and I'm like what is this look who's gonna shop here like it you know like we were already complaining that like the bratwurst were like 4 bucks now you know they made way back when and now now that was like like a brand-new stadium he tore down the old stadiums a brand new high striker sample it's tone down a stadium built a brand new one got rid of all that stuff and then it has like bass pro shops and grocery stores it's like out of control dude I'm like I remember when this was like a wasteland like what is God these to be a carnival do you ever go to the carnival they're electrons like it midnight just yeah flashing lights everywhere am that's awesome yeah it kind of gave you a really good perspective of like you can run 5k around that place and not be fully around the stadium like it ended before we started oh my god yeah that's crazy yeah it was a you know at the flying chairs and the carousels like the legit carnival
massive carnival used to be there yeah same place an axe yeah 17 bucks yeah they have decent website made in Germany
feels like ads and stuff over here oh you know all sorts of stuff an entire corner just dedicated to would turn like lathes and stuff kidding me right now that's a nice match - connects does it really give stitching peerage that much yeah for sure heavier
Logan harder axed bison I don't know what language that is German she's another marine an urbanizing dude it's got a double that's crazy-looking ax though that's kind of cool and that is a weird-looking ax it is the green is D sympathy this is this would have to go this is like completely quick oh it's funky though I like this a little bit good to uh literally over the dough did the fit and finish is really bad no yeah hey though for 70 bucks or I didn't finish just horrible it's kind of good have to its how he did things but things will get fried weapons 20 inches 22 inches 600 millimeters [Music]
it's drill presses and stuff - this place is out of control there's it's legit snowing out right now yeah that is crazy axe I'll put it back up bunch of turning tools what turning is so cool man one of these days I'm gonna make a pole lathe spring pool yeah sure it's so weird huh it's all that ice no check those out is that always brother yeah yeah this is right there
I didn't know they I mean they get the council to a woodcraft cults man this council tool oh man see the sign please do oh really yeah for show they're not talking really all right how you supposed to handle them my dad should have a guy's 6:4 in your in your building we'll put it so I [Music]
man like why can I not handle this I think I own this is a key so that's the key so I got this I did the UM the the balance on that is like real all about the balance it's like so like like do it when you get a good axe you hold it just like wants to stay how it is nothing is fun the bit is so fraught heavy that's still going right a bit is so front heavy on that that like when you hold a just wants to loss to fall forward so they didn't balance the pole to the bevel and sewed well so when were you swinging him when he start getting tired like you get wrist and arm fatigue because the consignee wants to go down so you're fighting it all the time to keep it going I bought it I'm like so this is a beater then we've got it Roger that yeah there's something I don't want to use repeated yeah I've looked at him a couple times in the head on them looks a little too long and skinny you know what I mean
it doesn't have a big enough bit on it a wide enough bit that's close enough to the center right right yeah that's the that's the that's like there that's like they're like grants furs Brookes version it's like that's like their small forest axe it's been out for a little while yeah
rooster actually you know rooster mod Craig roost great great axe mod guy I think he just collaborated with them on a short like it looks like shingling hatchet almost you know with the hammer pole that thing looks pretty sick but the cheeks the cheeks on the council tools are a little too thick for my liking you
yeah if you could see if you could see that thing in profile you can see that it's kind of it's kind of chunky and wide a lot of the Holtz Brooks are too but I mean for what they are you can't really beat it something else there's an old axe has like really flared Pissarro cheeks and then it cuts him immediately
I like yep has like a there's a bunch of access that haven't my Kelly my Kelly axe had that but it depends on it depends on the maker I mean I there are different names for but [Music]
it's like an electronic really nice green it's good good this is okay it's nice yeah one six inch maybe 27 yeah I guess traditional kind of boys actor maybe American felling axe style 20 years yeah yeah that looks more like a boy sax two and a half head that's pretty good console development times yeah
[Music]
colleagues my clamps and that's crazy just like eight foot clamps yeah if those have that that keeps out for sure it does yeah it does there it is right there you see that can they see that see that guys see how that's like a like a recessed had an interesting that's I was talking about tonsil tools do not you masks
of his cost here's some 42 bucks that's a transference Brooks yeah well it's not that grain is money though oh my god yeah it is that's really good great very front have you know yeah let go of it I just wants to sit down like he just wants to fall down really bad yes could be from that rubber they add that's fine clamps Oh plenty I have find the stencils man that's this is and this is a place a heavily rely on marking stenciling yeah so they have that little talk with myself [Music]
Oh his first time I've been here at dis woodcraft boys yeah period like kitchen - right yeah yeah put your own handle on oh dude yes the file gouges yes man do loonies curbs over here the number eights I use number seven curves these right here that's that's my couch that I actually bought from woodcraft they shipped it from the store number 7s are awesome
yeah dude this place is sick we'll get all these couches oh my god I draw knives like that's I know a lot of people I think that spoon sees corpse as a spoon
the carving jack it's a big person in the knives mouths yeah these are great for leatherworking the angled ones it just it's such an accurate strike yeah oh do they get extra handles what this would be perfect at the ditch this just made but that's really cool 15 bucks it does sit I have to get that this is who went it was a dinner one for a knife
this could be for already done and good to go I guess you could make things but if it's already well of course you can that's already done you pick it up forget it
nice carving knife or even a lot of companies only sell spoon knife bleeds they don't and tons of guys that make them that's how they sell them yeah I just waster man exactly yeah and while those guys it's just great I love it [Music]
this cold world soon right there look at that
yeah it is like you wouldn't even really have to trace anything out you just have your ship carving blades it's got a little V V gouge and everything yeah I've seen people use these for coal rosing you know little blades like this like really really fine blades oh yeah that's cool speaking of chip carving how to curly maple toolbox yeah it is dude you see the joints on the side dovetails oh wow that thing's a tank they probably probably pinned it to nice yeah you can see with it right here and they put a little bit of wood to cover the holes and stuff
this is this whole table we're just below my mind I don't open my hands on one of these tables yeah do what with the wood vices built right in sugar spirit grain or something chip carding and stuff well no much one of these tables cost oh here is this table is the elite 2500 Europe bench making ads finest you know it's expensive when you don't see a price you know it's gonna be a lot of money when they don't tell you how much it is you have to really want it and then how much it says Oh 4,000 or wood plane is that just made this someone made a plane about a wood that's cool yeah wow this place is cold man I'll do this a tag on it a kitten 470 bucks for the sink for this table now workbench Wow Oh storage cabinet just the cabinet's waters left I'm like really
yeah that's why that's why I forget it be like 1,200 bucks is on how much as that table man I think septic I would love to have nice wood vices like that well that's I mean yeah that's this this is like the epitome of what you'd want for a finished wood working vice yeah you see this and who's that girl on Instagram she Cole roses like a maniac a mealy no no no no rift chika warrior he is one of those here maybe she's also find on Instagram followers she's amazing [Music]
so many tools what Domino's pre-cut what was this oh I thought those wit Domino's pretty cut don't really look like it you do kind of look like it yeah a little few cookies that'd be funny though you could take those I'm totally making their dominance
so I'll do this plans and stuff gentlemen is that lay box somewhere in you got to show me what way you're spending your money huh I'm like knocking stuff over the belly yes no it's like a hickey part of something is detailed roughly yeah exactly if you can carve that you can probably carve a spoon relief carving yeah there's a lady that I follow on Instagram that literally makes this stuff every day of that quality she's saying see this reminds me of Swedish carving techniques it's like gives you small tasks mm-hmm paper and I you know small tasks to do and you kind of build up to things that are a little more intricate and detailed like a fist shelf cyntha that's awesome it's cool Doug outside does some amazing gnome carvings mm-hmm that's cool the thing that I've always taught those girls is monthly carving hankerchief yeah that's like a dream right there no I think it was a book on how to create your perfect match I think that's what the that's what that book is it's how to make how to make a bench good burn what burning it pile graphi it's cool wooden puzzles that's cool they're turning on blades in their containers out of Cana chair College across from here that's cool
basically I know they had a classroom exercise
a lot of project plans yeah they do how to build chairs wooden heart fish that's amazing white bass the catfish yeah carve that oh that's nuts this is where I bought my planks from because I just didn't know where yeah I bought basswood blanks like chunks of wood wow that's cool so hard to work with others
[Music]
this place is crazy well I got wood here too huh

just some serious wood oh god dude knife scale would ya follow me for our purposes anyways the old bass would blanks this is Patagonia rosewood coffee would notice all the end grain is waxed yeah
a lot of boards like yeah all right feather feather-light that's cool yes bass we're over here a walnut dude I would love how thick that is well I would love to take it's actually not a bad practice take something like that 185 bucks for that board it's a great tool
mocking game yeah another Fidelis is like some little balls over here they're like super robust outside calibers there's a cool Christmas to look at all the stained my condos they got up take a milk paints here don't you kidding me dude that's what everybody uses oh my god no paint a lot of people make their own - yeah because there's something in it that's no pain man this is what all the the slide people use they'll paint yeah it does
that's sick dude I'll be coming back here for some of that Danish Oil teak Wow
this place is insane yeah it's like to find a shop that has all this is kind of it's almost overwhelming hey bro come here you gotta see this dude the pigment from milk paint so you take this right exactly and they mix it with like raw linseed oil Wow Thanks that's the stuff right there like this anymore pumpkin chocolate brown how much are these yeah babies the question 15 bucks I know that's a lot of pigment in there well six off the little us makes one pint of liquid the water is added
