Oh

this is Mitch Anita survival today we're going to try a natural cordage bow-drill stay tuned

okay so we have a maple sapling right here I just cleared out the area around it I'm just working on exposing some of the roots try to use some of them all right so all around these saplings I've pulled off a couple roots that's what I get this one's really long we'll see how they get on all right so I've got planes and all sorts of machines around me so apologize for that so what I'm gonna do I just have a stick here with my bow I already have my notch in here I'm gonna just put thin end defendant of my two pieces of route and I'm going to tie them to the side and then spin them around each other as I go down the length of my bow all right so I'm going to make a clove hitch

alright there it is all right so here's my route Cordish now what I'm going to do is I just hold the end of it so I can choose how tight it is and how loose it is on the fly of my hand like this so rather than tying it off I'm going to just hold it move the rest of this connected for now just in case end up breaking I have some more to play with so it's about where I'm going to hold it

so I'm going to just wrap it around my finger

just like that just wrapped around my finger well

see if we can burn the sin see I took all tension off so I can put my bow in there very gently now I'm going to pull back on it add a little more attention alright let's give it a shot

stay up a little bit all right so now I'm burned in describe my not real quick now in this little added element of difficulties that it just started raining can I get this a sit right not probably work so my route outer bark has rubbed off but hasn't broken yet so we'll see how it goes

okay

put my spindle in take a leaf and lubricate my hand hook yep here comes the rain all right I'll wrap my finger again with the roof their way a good strong grip on the cordage

location of my hand really dictates how plated is enough alright let's go for the ember try to make it tight ah

gentle very delicate my root broke what looks like I got an ember oh yeah bring you guys up to that nice nice big fatty Ember where as rain comes in with natural route cordage there we go nice there it is natural cordage Bossier is the roots of maple all right listen missionary survival appreciate you views here calms me sport to the next one take care
