Haymitch native survival hangout loads of some good friends of mine we're gonna cooking steaks the old way stick around alright so I'm gonna just make sure my rocks clean

before I put it next to my fire all right so now I'm gonna just take my flat rock I got a couple of them one on either side of the fire I'm gonna slide it right next to the fire that way it's gonna start absorbing the heat and came from my hand that's so hot it's gonna stop absorbing the heat and get get really really really hot and I can throw my sticks right on that alright so this is how I like to test if it's up to temp take some water splash it on there especially the back corner and if it sizzles I know I'm good to go all right so is my buddy Joe tending the fire we got some infusions going on yarrow and sassafras get some burgers going and some onions on this side of fire on that side I'm throw some steaks on there pretty soon get my buddy Scott and Kenny over there checking out some boughs making some arrows oh yeah boys all right so Scott's flipping his over let's get some hamburgers over there I'm gonna throw my steak on the side I like to blow off the ash by camp yeah there we go

oh yeah

the zoom in on that sucker that's the stuff right there it's on its way now when it cooks down a little bit more I'm gonna slice it and finish it up in smaller slices and then I'll season it right at that point all right so now what I like to do take a steak put on my flank and then I just slice it up into smaller pieces setting check the grain and it's late work just fine a clamshell

this gives me a good chance to see the inside of the meat while I'm doing it alright so I'm gonna push this up I'll get back to you all right this is where I like to finish off the steak some salt on there a little pepper Wow keep it up back there alright somebody do the sand of these season him up not throw them on the stock

alright system this is where we're at we've got a burger going here and my steak finishing up over here Joe is toasting some English muffins on a plank gotta love it on this side of the fire and the other rock we have with two simultaneous get chopped onions and a burger and this is uh this is how you cook and then let the cheeseburger we have an MRE pack for cheese and a hamburger and a Thomas English muffin that's pretty creative and some roasted onions and it's the roasted onions by Scott and some baked potatoes we do have baked potatoes in there too yeah there's a little bit more of a feast there we're cooking with cooking steak the old way and we're and some other things too good stuff
