today I'm gonna add to the long term kit all right so what I picked up is a feather sleeping bag from the down sleeping bag it's the military model extreme cold I've actually had this for about five years but it's decided finally to add it to my kid okay so here's the bag got a bunch of apples inside

it's super warm super warm when I sip it up has the protector on the inside so I can't go through the zipper yeah it's for extreme clothes rated to -20 canvas outer with with down insulation on the inside has foot box and a hood standard mummy back now reason why I like this bag is because it compresses down to the same size as the military subsystem so it fits inside the compression sack same exact size as a military Sleep System it really compresses down and if you got the same size and for his suit system I can use the military vortex baby so it's the best of both worlds have a down sleeping bag and have a gore-tex baby that fits it that's bomb-proof serves calories

it serves no calories because they don't have to build a fire blanket we have some thousand crazy conditions in it but he needs this heart burning sustaining fire long walk fire which takes a lot of calories you know it really depends on the resource meet a lot fire seems like it gets - thirty here sometimes a couple years but usually - 20 is is our top so you know sit now even in minus 10 in just a little blanket that I haven't done it but it just it takes a lot of energy

takes a ton of energy it really does you have to have the proper bed setup you have to have you know where you can be laying depending on whether or not you're gonna be in a hammock or not to get off the snow or if you're gonna make it bed on the snow you know with this system with the sleeping bag I can just the baby and lay down it's like there's no cutting a bunch of pines to make a pine bough bad there's no making a massive fire because you know even at minus 20 I'll be good to go and if I do want a fire so probably have a fire I'm fire every night it's not like it's necessary to have a burn huge all night to keep me warm all night because know that starts going down you start freezing and you look like so it just allows me to do less work spend less calories save time and save my tools I don't have to cut all that wood so my axe doesn't need as much chocolate you know it just kind of goes down the line and I think that the night that I slept out blizzard conditions got like three feet of snow I think in three or four hours really smoky in there I had to bail yeah if I would have my sleeping bag I just put my fire out if I wanted to cause of so much smoke so you know that was a big life lesson to me realizing that you know my wool blanket has news that's pretty interesting so I just wanted to throw off the new addition to my kit it obviously causes me to have a bigger bag so I've upgraded my little canvas sack

Philby rucksack

if this perfect it's my sleeping bag at the bottom

a huge bag and a suspension system so back

same thing

so what I can do from the fire the embers and of course it adds value don't man sleeping man will break it anyways so I'm gonna be screaming hot - I mean there could be minus-30 and with this system I'd be good to go yeah I would probably good to go without the fire I have a fire just bonus so I think having the baby so the in this bag I think so it stays further

found one put the cortex bivy inside which I always do Spitzer on top dress it down good to go and just show you this is the bottom of the Philby rucksack it has the little military suit system pocket as you can see it fits in that

alright let's move into this Bible School I appreciate your views
