really enjoy a top setup and a lavell or teepee setup because whether it's a hurricane or blizzard or just a rainstorm you're allowed to have living space and workspace and protection for your fire in your living room underneath the tarp it also allows a sleeping space or a bedroom off of it I think that's important a workspace a living space and a sleeping space that's like my little shelter within my shelter having a little sanctuary that is completely closed off that I can completely batten down the hatches is going to reduce convection the cold air from getting in making me cold also putting a ground cloth in this case I use my wool blanket on the bottom reduces conduction from the earth and from the cold wet ground so I sleep warmer with less convection and less conduction also it's much warmer in there than outside when I stick my hand out initially in the morning it's several excuse me smoke in my face it's several degrees colder outside than in there it traps my radiation and builds up heat it's a fantastic shelter so this setup really affords me a lot of convenience even on the go
