there's a piece of seen you hear back straps in you we'll see when you when you smash it the fibers start separating we just tap it with a rock and I'm gonna break this down to small fibers

alright so it's getting too late in the night here for me to continue without a fire let's get you Dark it's getting too chilly

alright so have a bunch of feathers here that uh be my buddy Kevin phone or on the scout roll turkey feathers I've got to hear that are brown useless for knock knock feathers and stand up hot ok so I'm going to pick a feather and get to it a lot warmer now now that I have a fire going I put up my hammock so I can sit comfortably so we're going to just start working on this feather here of course the smokes fly on my face right now all right so I'm gonna just take the stuff and rip it back that's not really conducive to good good flushing this will be the front on the side

gonna spit back okay so i'll make it a little bit longer my middle finger you like back here somewhere that's what I have now oh also I like to keep all these little bits you know you can make flies with them for fishing and all sorts of things I'm gonna work on school news [Music]

all rights now next job is to thin the width of this what's real wide and then also the thin down here as well so I want to make the quill as small as I can now I just I just moved my fire pit I'm facing the opposite direction the river behind me the wind was pushing off the river and pushing the smoke right in my face so rather than move my hammock and all that I just moved my fire the other side of my hammock so the wind is still now at my back it's pushing off of up I'm sorry the wind is still coming off of the river instead of being in my face putting all the smoke in my face now the smoke still go in the same direction but it's going away from me and I just moved all the embers of my fire with my little eating bored here so things like that or what make you comfortable in the woods you know now I don't have smoke in my face it's like a whole different night you know it was on my face for like 15 minutes and it was just awful you know blowing my nose and eyes are watering now the smoke is going away from me instead of towards me said I have instead of having to build a big wall and all that out of sticks and try to make a wall behind it to stop the wind from coming towards me why fight it right I just moved the fighting other side of my hammock and now the smoke is going away from me alright so now seem to be much more pleasurable to work on it's my work on changing the length of this first

all right and I'm gonna start working on thickness

alright

as you can see it's nice and thin so I'm gonna make two more I'll get back to you all right so has my three feathers ready to be flushed good to go but before I flex them I'm going to go around to each not just shave it down just nice and smooth alright so just finish taking down the knots now I'm going to scrape the shaft and take some mass off of this so we'll be skinnier little lighter little faster all right so my first feather so maybe my Knock feather it's going to be 90 degrees from where my string is going to be see how my knockers right here it's going to go up and down and string so this file is going to be facing out from the string so I'm going to prep my sin you real easy just by wetting it inside my mouth you know

get a little little soft start to form a high ghoul around it okay so I'm gonna just wrap this around make my little x holds my rap in place like I always do I do that once [Music]

I'm going to put the next fella maybe 90 degrees from that one so right in line with my string now I'm gonna wet my seen you again my mouth wrap over that one as well I'm gonna put my third on here [Music]

do the same thing just wouldn't

you sure it's good and wet all right pull it nice and tight now i'm going to put some more spit on it as I finished the rap okay before it sets I'm gonna check to see if everything is where I wanted to be

[Music]

make any adjustments I need to I'm gonna slide this one over a little bit I just went over a little bit I was checking it out this what I've got so far

okay so I'm gonna just tighten my rap now that I'm happy with what I have do that same tuck under like I always do oh my oh my hanks and everything else lots of spit on there help it self glue camel let that dry I'm gonna do the other side all right i was going to wrap the other side first but if I'm gonna do i always put another wrap over here to protect the front of the feathers I'm gonna do that now so I'm gonna just trim them up yeah okay thirst a wrap that's good to go so I'm gonna do the back

you
