Log Cabin Life: Alone with my Dog in the Off Grid Pallet Wood Cabin
Description
I head to the Off Grid Log Cabin in the Forest to spend a night alone with my Dog. The Log Cabin build is still continuing, but sometimes it is nice to just spend some time alone in this rustic tiny house. Taking my dog to the cabin in the wilderness for the first time was so fun. With the woodstove burning, candles lit and my dog by my side, life was perfect. The tiny house felt rustic, cosy and it was my hygge. I am still striving to learn how to live off the land, foraging for wild plants and edibles, growing my own vegetables and becoming self reliant. I can use this off grid cabin as a shelter and base where I can practice living off the land and use primitive technology, learn Bushcraft skills, improve my survival skills and my self reliance.
Learning how to cook is something I am currently focusing on. In this video I do some cast iron cooking on the woodstove, grind my own coffee beans and take time to reflect. I fell asleep to the hooting of owls, and the wind through the trees was a big ASMR trigger for me. It's still winter outside, but in the Cabin was cosy and warm. Sometimes I think living off grid in a tiny house seems much easier, away from the daily stress of life. I hope you enjoy this video.

you know out loud first time I've ever had hot chocolate and it cooks er I have to say it this place is quite unique it's getting clumpy they didn't stir it very much so today you may have obviously noticed that I've got my dog Jack's with me this is Jack's no he is my little Jack Russell dog he's my best buddy we do loads of stuff together go on lots of adventures camping just general dog walks and everything like that he is brilliant as you can see earlier he's a bundle of energy
he doesn't really tire much when we do big bit we can do massive massive walks you know most of the day I've taken him up to the mountains up in the Lake District walked all day with him with Emmy my wife and he's still not been tired but they're very very loyal fiercely loyal very protective and loud for a little dog but um yeah I'm here at the cabin as you can see gonna spend the night alone with Jack's up here he's never been here before this is his first time at a cabin so it's interesting to see sort of you know he's exploring it so it's all quite new to him but so far he seems to really enjoy it anyway he's getting a bit sleepy where we've done a big walk earlier he may have noticed this well that I've actually got a drone now from some of the aerial shots that I was doing that was pretty much the second time I think I've ever flown it I've had it about a month or so now I've just only practiced that one time and then so yeah what you see there is pretty amateur stuff for me but you know hopefully it came out well anyway so the plan tonight is obviously you've got my hot drink to have got some food to cook got some beer got a bit of whiskey we're gonna chill out it's gonna be awesome how you enjoy the adventure so I have bought Jax's dinner place see you guys are wondering I just keep him in a little pouch this is just a canvas pouch which is his dry kibble bag I do give him wet meat as well but I haven't bought that with me today so he'll be fine on the old pips got him being a Jack Russell he's not very fussy with what he eats yeah buddy no battle dusk is approaching just everyone knows from the previous overnights I did here I love myself some butter just make keeping it simple today bread butter cheese a bit of ham so butter a bit of grated cheese on it yeah this is high in cholesterol don't worry luckily I do loads of exercise so she'll be able to burn that off no problem
quite blood that the cost the larger cars for an iron panel have this is cast iron been using it for a while glad it actually it still fits on the G state say that's impressive given the nuts I think the 10-inch one yeah variety of sizes I prefer I like cooking on cast iron I do it a lot home just yeah you've got to maintain it a little bit more but it's actually I find it cooks food through a lot more nearly done sort of if you can see this gold and brown underneath toast it on top slightly taste it on top golden brown underneath it is so Jax isn't really looking at me enviously now he wants this boy here wants this boy oh he does this is basically my typical lunch that I make at home to be honest guys when I'm doing all the editing it's just a nice quick ham cheese butter simple job done you've had yours you've already eaten me yes hmm yes is very good you know oh I'm actually nearly full already these are so filling Sophie look jeez oh jeez boy it's like the perfect crunchiness as well absolute nailed it he's dribbling drooling everywhere I don't blame you this looks way tastier than your dry kibble oh well empty plate says it all went down a treat promise Jax didn't have any I promise of course it has to be it has to be bottle of innocent gun arguably the best beer certainly in the UK what I like about innocent gun it's all like barrel aged beer that's aged in like all old but bourbon barrels and whiskey barrels and rum barrels and things like that so it has a real unique taste like a whiskey beer taste that's really nice so this one is the Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale version so this one is my favorite it's the original comes in and hefty 6.6% but innocent gun dude I'm not sponsored by them how cool would that be a beer sponsorship but Cheers me drinking on a school night again cheers guys
oh that's good killer birds so many birds feels like spring in a way it's been really 30 model today that's a good bear such a good bear come in come on there's a good boy there's a good boy dad go eating the crumbs buddy no eating the crumbs mind you it's AIT's the noise get in them if they come in it yeah you'd have a mouse to win you as well oh yeah would anyone else do that with that dog so you cold a bit weird like only you and your dog and your place relatives and family know that that's okay you do in public if one's like that's a bit strange unless they own a dog dog owners we're all weird on me we're all weirdos it's cuz we love these guys so much these dudes the old dudes so how are you guys doing anyway what have you guys been up to lately have you been out in the woods camping have you been going on adventures and he sort of overnighters
maybe you guys have cabins and you've been in your cabins who knows you've been family camping maybe or perhaps you've been on the fishing trip or just a dog walk what have you guys been up to let me know I try to read as many comments as I can it be great to see what all of you are up to other than drinking beer on a school night I've got some good plants I know I've been in this I know I'm gonna call this series I might focus focus I really apologize if that focuses out guys I can't really tell on the little screen that's there but hoping is so I've been thinking of calling this playlist the sort of vlogging playlist in the cabin just log cabin life just basically me chillin in the cabin having some beers coffee food doing an overnight you know just chat to you guys I realize it's technically not a log cabin
it's made from pallet wood from recycled pallet wood that we got from supermarkets and industrial states there's a whole playlist on the channel on how we built this with my ability with my dad there's about eight episodes of us building it so if you want to check now there's a link in the description below but I do get a couple of questions you know that's not a log cabin while you're calling a log cabin technically it it sort of is because in my opinion pallet wood comes from wood which comes from a tree which when fells can be a log so unknown in my opinion guys it's not cabin so I'm going to call this series log cabin life let's genuinely just you guys follow me if you want to the last one was really popular don't know why it's just in here doing stuff and you seem to really enjoy it so yeah I gotta call it log cabin life document just the vlog every now and there not not really often but every now and then just in the cabin and just updating you guys really and we can just hang out together obviously this is Jax's first time a lot of you have asked for dad can we have dad here because obviously he helped build this cabin he will he'd not a fan of the overnights in the cold and stuff but he will come come on in so I realized a lot of the bushcraft guys are saying you know when you're getting outdoors when you get to do some more overnight as that is coming guys I just wanted to be this for a long time I wanted to spend some time in this cabin because it's not gonna last forever it will rot away but I do have plans for more overnighters coming up at the bushcraft camp I've got some bigger trips coming up some sort of different style trips Jack's digging around careful different style trips coming up as well and also I've got a really something I've never filmed on the channel or ever they're down so you guys saw me make this saw us make this flap in the previous episode as you can see it's pretty much getting dark outside now in the previous camp build series that helped to make this hinged flap obviously I want to watch the can was it when I basically got myself a curtain made of wood some of you said make some shutters for the window this is it that's what we're doing Jack's out go into the toilet and stuff and just took him around the woods a bit I keep him on the lead at night obvious reasons he says Jay Russell terrier he's gonna want to sniff and take anything and he would run off down rabbit holes and things if he could say was boy Jack Daniels good ol Jack Daniels I'm not I'm not a saw a huge whiskey drink I don't drink it loads just nice like this you know when it's really chilled but do you have some this is a cheapie bottle I got this on a deal don't mind a bit JD there pickle the census got my I can't holder my candlestick holder Jeeves you might see that in a previous a log cabin life a block but I really like this you know British dramas candlestick holder there is a name for a quorum but it was father subscribers told me but I'm just using that to light this side of my face of it more evenly so it's about 10:00 10:30 dinner where my watches now but about 10:30 now so we're gonna hit the sheets because he's tired he did a massive walk today he's really tired for those asking about Jax's or who will ask about Jack's sleeping arrangements he sleeps with me either in or on my sleeping bag probably tonight in when that stove goes out it will get fairly cold in here no I see not like a tent would get cold or a tarp being under a tarp but it will be warmer than that but he's only short he's only got short fur so if he you know he feels the cold a lot more than then a bigger dog would with longer fur oh you good boy ah oh drop one that stings that stinks damn what are you eating other than kibble Oh that reaps Jax is just drops one of the opportune moment in a cabin that's gonna stink and that's gonna linger because it's hot in here you sting right see the money guys my guys slept on and off ready Jax was in and out that sleeping bag as he does he gets hot me cold let's assume when I'm camping with Emmy but it's the morning now it's about 8:30 light outside by dark in here obviously plan is takács out in a minute just to let them go to the toilet and definitely get some coffee on and cook up some breakfast first off let's do some light in here [Music]
