Torso Beast - the ultimate small factor sleeping pad
Description
Our popular foam sleeping pad system The Beast has added a new smaller version, the Torso Beast or T Beast. This model packs smaller and is lighter, while still giving you the ultimate in comfort. It is so effective at insulating you from the ground that it takes much less blanket to keep warm. The T Beast will allow you to sleep comfortably on uneven ground, even rocky ground. Like our regular versions, the T Beast has a snap system that interfaces with our ponchos, fleece liners, Osni series cloaks and blankets, Hammock Survival Shelters and more. It also includes the tent pole adapters, allowing you to use a wide variety of poles to support a canopy. The Beast is part of a shelter system not just a sleeping pad.

I'm pretty jazzed today about something and what I'm jazzed about it's a piece of new gear you know you know me wilderness innovation we're always coming up with something we always got some deal and today is no exception I brought with me this is the Beast and this one here this is three of the three inch thick beast pad this beast right here this one is 2 inches thick pad well I've got another one here you notice it looks quite a bit smaller compared the two right here this beast right here I've had it in mind for a while and whatever what else is cool about the t beast it has all the other features that all the other beasts have it's got snaps down the side it's got your tie outs for adding tent poles and all that it's got your tent pole adapters just like the other ones everything's the same except it's a smaller profile that baby right there is only about 7 inches diameter across here so it's pretty sweet and I narrowed it up I'm 20 inches wide here and that's about as far as I think I can go because the objective is to sleep comfortably so I can do it on 20 inches wide I've tried it out and my length here is 44 inches but this is a full three-inch thick pad so so I am I am able to get plenty of padding under me plenty of insulation all right I've kind of looked around and I think I want to go right here with my with mighty beast way nice I rarely ever use a ground cloth with my Beast thinking about doing it with this one with the torso length just because I'm kind of out here on this dirt ground a little bit and this this ground cloth is actually made for actually made for my regular size beasts might be kind of nice because I don't know I've got my shorts on today I might be might be getting a little tickle from the grass and junk it's all right here so here we go that's it so the ground cloth does have a little hook on here you can see you can see right there and if I want to hook it on here somewhere you know just to hold that corner up because we've got that mesh that covers the foam pad but I can just pull that up here anywhere I want and I can hook it in there and that'll just stay in place you know and there's a lot of different ways I could bring it around here like this I mean any way I could conceive of I could hook that in place you see we do have the double double sided snaps female on one side net on the other just like the big regular beasts we have the d-ring here at the 45 degree angle so we can clip on our tent pole adapters we just don't have as many snaps because it's shorter so there's our beast and a little ground cloth not a big fan of ground cloth but I might I don't know I might like a little better
because the beast is short you know I don't know so now we do have in the bag now we're tent pole adapter straps you will notice something a little different about these we've got a couple straps that are longer than the other two these two here go up here at the head end because this is the regular because we're in a regular configuration up here at the head end just like our regular size B sir but we're shorter down there so we need a longer strap so that we can configure our poles just exactly the same way
get our set of tip pulls out and everything we've got here is usable the shock cord with the adjustable cord lock is used to secure the poles in an X shape the nut the Slipknot pad here yeah gives the gives this extra grip for windy conditions so now we just put all this thing together here putting the poles in is the same on the t beast as it is on the regular full-size beasts same type of deal we just plug them in the little pockets then we take this shock cord that originally held the tent poles in a bundle and we use it to hold that X shape right there that is what holds everything up right there so here's the little strip of Slipknot that comes with the poles nowadays and this fabric on the one side is just absolutely will not slide choose four ball gloves
you know all different kind of things so what I do is I just you don't have to be fancy you just wrap the non-slip side towards the tent tubing and then we just put our shock cord around there and zip up the tie and that thing that thing will not slide anywhere all right let's unroll this dude here now this is a HSS so this is this is almost a poncho just another hood it's our hammock shelter system same size the PSS xlx wide yeah just without the hood so this becomes my canopy now so I've got a tarp kit for Poncho's here we've you know you can do your own thing or our kits just make it really simple because it gives you everything you need in one little handy bag right there so I've got for Ted stakes three Hanks of parachute cord some shot cord some easy clips the Ted stakes these are Eastern aluminum Ted stakes and they have a shock cord in them which helps you in certain conditions to have a little shock absorbing in your shelter so what I want to do on this back side I usually I generally like to put it in first and you see we've got this is the end of our tent pole adapter and I'm just going to kind of come out from that just a little ways and drive that stake in and we've probably hit a root here so I may have to move it around there we go front side here we'll just shove the shock cord through the tie out loop let that just kind of pull out a little bit and I'm going to tighten it along this edge a little bit as if I can stake in here okay all I do is tie a piece of parachute cord on here and I've pulled up on this and I'm tensioned all the way around I got a good little bit of space out in front of me here to clear me in case of the storm now you can see on here that this is an HSS hammock survival shelter not a poncho I could do this very same thing with a poncho I just I just cinched the hood closed and snap it down up there to keep the weather out and it works exactly the same as this setup does right here Here I am this is on the the tea the tea beast the the torso size so you can see this thing fits me just fine it comes the top of my head I've got the width I need it's comfortable and I'm carrying a considerably less volume and weight by having this smaller size and as you can see it does work very well overhead we've got thunderstorms off and on here it's been raining but we're dry as a bone inside of here now if I wanted to lay on my stomach you know I've got to I've got the ability to do that [Applause]
[Applause]
you
