Blizzard Bivy - Local Materials + Poncho Shelter

A storm blew in with high winds and snow, how would I make a very quick simple shelter with the clothing I had on and whatever local materials were available? part of the idea of this poncho shelter system is not of course just for rain and just for kicks let me see what kind of quickie little shelter I can make for a sitting Divi know I'm protected inside of here I've got my Oni cloak on underneath the poncho so that gives me some thermal protection as well a little bit of some bark and stuff I'm gonna go around the backside you put that in as kind of a wind block so I can shove a little that in there big piece of bark hey bro

look at that there we go like you stick that alright try to pull this off of here so here's my whole shelter from the backside I've boarded it up with sticks and and bark and stuff like that so it gives me a windbreak wind protection and the more it snows the more it'll fill in the cracks then seal it up even better see dad busy so I'm gonna be sitting on the ground so I want to raise myself out of the snow a little and notice there's some sections of bark here there's a nice piece right there bark this bark is there's a little lighter and full of more full of air than just regular wood so it will give me a little bit of insulation as well so I've got the bark down here in place to give me a little padding above the snow a little bit of insulation I can see this whole hillside here is covered with these reeds here's a close-up what they look like see they got that hollow stem inside of there that's nothing but insulation right there pile up a bunch of those and you're really good to go these good insulating value so I can make up a big mat of these to sit on to further insulate me from the cold that makes a soft insulated mat and I can crisscross a couple layers have plenty to sit on that'll really make a nice set up here I've got me some more book and in this read type material then I add a little bit more to it to finish off my seating platform here just natural materials I'm just finding out here as I'm out in the woods okay so I'm wearing my shelter but I'm adding some comfort by doing this little bitty right here the soft police just said insulate off the ground a little bit of a wind block on the with the stump and the bark and stuff I found from the side the storms coming in between all that I got a nice little shelter here so there's my seat a bivy area right there protected underneath the log and with the stuff I put on the backside to kind of block the storm makes out a nice little corner to be protected out of the elements in addition to my poncho and oceany that I'm Larry so pretty well situated comfortable underneath shelter I'm wearing and I'm protected from the storm I'm wearing my osa knee so I got my thermal protection my poncho the wind protection

I am i well sheltered here feels really comfortable sitting here and leaning up against the stump of this tree a seated position is one of the best ways to stay warm because your body heat is trapped up here around the trunk of your body and because hot air rises it comes to the top so it stays around the core of your body which helps you automatically to stay warmer than you would be if you're too lay down I could use a fleece as well under here just to say man it would work in a similar fashion ok so this is officially very comfortable you
