Setting up a Hammock after Midnight Using a Poncho, Beast, and Osni Blanket

Description

In this video The PSS Poncho is set up quickly as a hammock, The Beast as a sleeping Pad and an Osni Narrow Blanket as covers. It was exceptionally comfortable.

It seems most of the time I am setting up the first night of my camps, in the dark. I have learned to do this in limited light, many things by habit. I can set up my sleeping pretty much by memory. It pays to have things that are simple and multipurpose, such as our PSS ponchos which can be hammock, canopy or poncho. This makes it possible to adapt to most situations.

**This Poncho / Hammock is part of a Poncho Shelter System **

well about 12:30 quarter to 1:00 in the morning time to go to sleep I guess I I rarely actually set up my camp my sleeping arrangements till after dark I have my kit here my hammock kit I'm going to pull one of my shuttle slings out of here head hider a little more get this one put up and this a new experimental deal I built the Marlinspike into the very end of the shuttle sling so I don't have to use the tent stake just for kicks we'll see how it goes

I've been used to Mike that for a little bit well two or three weeks I guess runners Dyneema runners these are 24 inches these uh shoved through here so we're just gathering the fabric here onto that hard part of the runner and when it kind of fills up we'll just pull back like that just keeping you just work your way across pretty simple when you come out the other end let me see there we have it even it up so that I'm just kind of even like that my shuttle sling is hanging down from the tree now to show you so the black here that's your I call that the static line of the running line that's the long piece of your sling the orange part is the shuttle the shuttle has an eye on it right there and so the eye is what you connect to your hammock and it just slides up and down the static line that's all there is to it so that's how you adjust it slide it down slide it up the only thing you have to remember is when you slide it you have to just run your fingers up it like that so just kind of tightens it down against the static line and that that right there some people call that milking it you just milk that up like that and that just locks it in place so it can't slide the other side up so again the same thing and then tighten it up we just pull up on the line on each side until we have it set how we want it I usually draw the I usually draw the hood up because this is a poncho I draw the hood up so it close it off and then I usually I usually dump my pockets out and whatever else if there's any other things I want to use the hood basically as a pocket for the hammock and there it is in position okay so now my narrow blanket has has double-sided snaps as you see as you see right here may a female on one side male any other I can snap those snaps either into my hammock the poncho hammock I can snap those in on one side to hold that in place which is really handy so when you turn over in the night if you do or whatever you're not pulling your covers off of you so there we are the bed is done ready to sleep I did in the middle of the night so now I'm good to go I'm ready for bed you
