Osni Cloak Introduction - Coat, Poncho Liner, Woobie, Sleeping bag, Under Quilt and more

Description

We started out wanting to make an upgraded Poncho Liner and wound up with an incredible piece of gear. Using Climashield for insulation and ripstop nylon for shell material we made a Liner that will snap into all our PSS Series Ponchos. It can also function as a stand alone item when the poncho is not needed. Here is a list of the Osni Cloaks main uses: Great Coat, Serape, Woobie with hood, Blanket, Half Bag, full Sleeping Bag, Poncho Liner, Hammock Under Quilt, snap on Over Quilt, Hammock liner. The shell fabrics water repellent coating allows use in mild weather without the poncho as a cover. The 4 oz Climashield makes this a nice warm piece of clothing, adding the Poncho to it extends the comfort range 15 to 20 degrees. FYI the word Osni (pronounced oos-nee) is a Lakota Indian word meaning "cold weather". Check out this and all our made in USA gear at:

well hello this Perry peacock here wilderness innovation I'm wearing a new piece of gear here a new product we've got and this is our new CS series poncho liner it's made to go with any of our any of our PSS Poncho's whether it's the ultra Lites heavy duties or all the standard line this this works with all of them it snaps into all the Poncho's so that it becomes integrated with the Poncho's you notice the hood on here comes just a little comes just a little past the bill of my ball cap and when I tighten down on that just a little bit it makes it wrap right around the bill of the cap just barely which what you essentially makes us so it's integrated into so my ball cap becomes kind of integrated into the hood of this thing this particular one right here is insulated with climate shield apex the fabric is water repellent so you know and you're not going to be in a heavy rain in it but but you know some moderate rain medium rain light rain that sort of thing no problem at all one of the other nice things about this poncho liner is that I can you know it's even though it's like fairly lightweight and everything like that it's still tough enough now I sit down on the ground I'm not that worried about putting this thing right on the ground or anything like that it's you know it's going to be pretty it's pretty sturdy one of the nice things about it too is since we have these snaps on here double sided snaps and everything I can if I'm using it I'm using it like serape when I can snap

some of these snaps up so the fabric is the outside shell fabric is water repellent and the insulation does not hold on to water so any moisture and stuff like that can pass through from your body as you sweat anything that falls on it runs off or runs out because nothing here wants to hold on to moisture okay so now this is one of the ways that can be used as a half bag and I can I've snapped the sides down I've zipped the the hood shut and actually if I didn't have my boots on one way I've found is you can shove your feet inside the hood if you want and it gives you another foot of length in the half bag set up the snaps on here are double-sided snaps so they can be snapped in different configurations and all that sort of thing some other nice things about it is this can also be an under quilt for when you set our poncho up as a hammock and that's that's one of the things people love about our ponchos as you can make them into a hammock so this integrates to that as an under quilt another feature of this of our new poncho liner and that is the under quilt feature and so I can wear this as I'm wearing it whatever I could have my poncho over the top for you know when you got a real rain coming down so it makes a great coat that's waterproof so I've got all those options now I can also turn this into an under quilt so you see if I want to sit here like this I can do it like that so I I'm using like a blanket fabric here on the shell is water repellent so I'm in kind of a spent kind of a light rain here today at times more than others and kind of gusty at times but right now we got a little bit of a calm so it's just a little misty light rain and you know that's no problem for this to handle that even if this thing got pretty wet the climate she'll the courses has warmth even even when reasonably wet things see here's the ultralight dark OD and I put it over the top of that liner and so you can see that that all fits in here all the same so this little ideal right here Reidy does do a very very nice job and we're really happy to offer it in our line of liners poncho liners to go with our our punch as our PSS series we've got double sided snaps on here we've got a socket on one side instead on the other and of course I can use it as a blanket you know I I can I can lay this out as a full length blackett blanket snap up the snaps draw the drawstring down on the far end to close in my foot area run this thing up and this thing though this thing can can't completely enclose me so you see I'm fully fastened up here all the way up and my foot in down here I have zip down the drawstring so that closes the foot totally in so that gives me a foot to my sleeping bag you know I just just unsnap this thing and play them inside of there it's not too terribly cold it's it's in the high 40s up here right now and with this thing on it's absolutely almost too warm all right so to attach this is the same exact way that we would attach a an under quilt now we do you can see which you just got you flip this out you flip that one over so it matches up and then you just start going down here and snap all these snaps up just like just like you would do with the underquilt

for most people this would make a this would make a reasonable bag so if you have your punch you'll snap to it then then you know you're you're all the way in there now so anyway so there you got a full sleeping bag you can use it for and several different ways that you can use it as a half bag and of course you can choose your cover fabric and your liner fabric separately whatever the choice is same kind of choices we offer on our blankets then if you get real fussy we can probably get most anything you want on the bottom of this and the front in the back there's a drawstring actually built in it's kind of almost recessed in there but that's built in it's got a it's got a cord lock on it so that makes it so when I turn this into an under quilt I can zip down that that drawstring a little bit and close my ends in so now what we want to do is keep any draft from coming in right here so we pull on the drawstring and it pulls that draft out of there now you could you could just run that down there and leave that just like that if you want to and down here at the hood you do the same thing as you do with your punch of hood you just zip it up there [Music]

you can't even take some of these guys if I want to and cross-connect them so that I actually can kind of I can actually get buttoned right up inside of here if I want to [Music]
