well I think I like this spot right here I've got a hurry there's a storm coming in NYTimes coming I've got to hurry and set up a shelter I'm going to do this in a timed fashion once I start yeah I try to do it in 15 minutes or less yeah I'm going to set up my poncho which is in my backpack I'm gonna set it up right here facing the creek so let's get started right here set a timer for 15 minutes now that's retarded all right so I've got a timer here for 15 minutes and there we whoa whoa whoa cancel not an hour 15 just 15 minutes there we go 15 minutes here we go let's see we can do

all right so Knights I'm going to think of us sit up right here between these two trees hopefully I'm wide enough right

I just stuffed my poncho in last time I used it not camping trying to desert was headed up as a hammock pull my runners out of here my bag man I've got a tarp accessory kit for Poncho's here just dump that out right we're gonna dump that out right there and go to town using it here first of all some cord it's wrapped in a figure 8 like we always do make it easy to deploy it and I want to be right here yes alright so there's that yeah we'll go around the big tree here I think we're about we're about the same height here quickly with us out of here soon right I'm going through going to tire well I'm

here

take it slippery did I close my line know what I want to do here is want to face the hood to the back so it'll shed water at the ring I'm going to put the foot in Dover I'm going gonna go the first that's what I'm going right there when I can pull this out like an awning in front of me okay okay and okay so I'm gonna take this and here it might wind up need a bigger stick and there we go through here

you need to be bigger that's not very tight now I might use I might use a shock cord on this okay [Music]

so I'm going to use my get four tent stakes and your four tent stakes in your tarp accessory kit for punches then I'm going to use the elastic part of it the shock cord so that I can have a little tension on a little less the city this work nice right here Oh got three there [Music]

down down over the rock here little here we go alright so now I got tension across here tension up there now we'll do out the front end PI over to there all right

grab or you know pull out a little the end see a nice thing about that figure-eight whined as I'm holding all the rest of the cord in check so I had to pull it all through here every time I do something have that little Swedish not in there all right now here around they come over here I got to go for taut-line two times to the inside one time to the outside there I can just let it fall snug that up a little tension on it you can't really dress out a taut line without a little bit of tension on it so there we go right there now we'll do the other side I got about five minutes to finish the shelter boy you're gonna be able to do it we'll do the same thing right here see my end through there

notice how the notice how the cord just stays put nicely right in place for me no no hassle with it I'll pull out my Swedish hitch right there and it will tie it over here somewhere you see where we are right there now tie it off over here around the tree so here we are taught lying once twice to the inside once to the outside just let it fall snug that up the little tension on it dress it out a little bit now we just snug it up and we are they are now we're pretty nicely set than that pretty good to go here for twelve minutes here twelve and half minutes then I've already got my shelter set up here got 19 got some space back here I'm in pretty good shape right now so let me just clean up this top right here with some shock cord loops and we'll be good to go all right so I've got my three of the three loops of shock cord and you'll have to put how to put two of these together they'll be long enough so you just slide the loops together it makes a square nut no I should have plenty of length to go all the way around the turn okay on the other side earng okay pulled on it too much I'm going to they can't see this show you after and I just put that link through there

click the cord lock do this other in put the cord lock through there and I just zip it down and we're secure okay so there's 15 minutes like I think I could easily done it in about 12 or so kind of piddled around a little bit this step up her back in my bag right in there shelters up and we're good to go there's the back view and notice it's all it's all being kept tight because of the elastic that we put on all of our tent stakes so that way and maintaining some tension all the time on it which is a lot better than having to retighten nuts all the time all right so I'm under the shelter

you know we're raining or whatever would be out of the rain snowing or whatever I'm out of it so there I am safe and secure in here under the awning I've got plenty of headroom plenty of width the room to move around so I grab my fleece poncho liner here this has been a tax they're not a taxes is in this one is in real tree extra nice nice fleece I can wrap around me in cool weather and you know to do pretty well in here well it's cozy right here you know some people don't like me to use that word cozy but hey it is what it is man it is what it is so I'm cooking mostly on a bed of hot coals there's a little bit of somebody's twigs here burning as well but but I can cook just solely on hot coals I've done this before I've really been I've really been totally flame free just just hot coals only but I'm kind of rushing a little bit because of the sun's gone down it's getting dark you
