the silk Turtles it's creek here with black outdoors today I'm going to do a video on how to tie a bowline have a piece of cordage it's going to be using hope illustrate really show what the what the bowline looks like let's start wrapping it around this tree because a bowline is used to place around a fixed object I'm not sure if it's Bolin or bow line guys I know the loop it's kind of loot category it's not i'm not you know got its origins from from the maritime industry the sailors which a lot of knots and hitches and bends all that oh that's where a lot of it came from but if you know go line by line let me know drop a comment for the sake of the video this tree is going to be my fixed object you won't find a tree like this on a ship but so we got out here in the forest tagging in my left hand side again in my right hand I'm going to go close to that close to the object pinch with my left hand these two fingers and create a loop underneath a static end hold that loop continue to hold that loop I'm going to take the working end here tag in pass it through the loop while continuing to hold this loop I've created switch hands this is the tag in through the loop now and see that coming through the loop under around and then back through the loop where the started pull that tight beau-line bow line and it's a really secure really secure you know configuration on a piece of cordage has the same principle as the Sheep end and Weaver's bend which I've done videos on and it's really important to understand the physics and actually why this works it's I like to think of it each end you're sort of making them huggy hug each other see this sort of sad again coming through here wraps around and it's holding holding over here and then it's duplicated on this side sort of hugging each other it's like to think about it and do it one more time then put some weight on it put some load on it and show you piece of cordage wrap around the object I want to secure this too

hence the static end in my left hand create the loop underneath making sure this is underneath goes up a little bit pass SAT again through I'm sorry the working end through the loop I've created continuing to hold the loop keeping it pinched pass underneath static end wrap around and then back through the loop where I started you can see as I slowly started type this you can see the physics where it's getting applied how the friction is being distributed on the bow line and tighten that up now step back stoneham and tighten this up put some weight on it on my weight on my weight on it I'm pretty good but this video is helpful this great sounding out with like algos later turn us
