ESEE Zancudo | EDC Folding Knife | Field Overview

Description

Krik of Black Owl Outdoors gives and overview of the ESEE Zancudo, an EDC folding knife option. Designed by the guys over at ESEE, the Zancudo is similar to the size and quality of the Ontario RAT 2 yet has subtle changes that make it stand on its own.

Video Transcription

hey what's up Turtles Kirk here with blackout outdoors today I'm going to be doing a video on the essays on kudo folding knife the cheapest I found this knife for I believe was twenty six twenty seven dollars but hovering right around thirty s where you're going to see see this knife it is a EDC folder this is the coyote brown color option on this side of the knife you can see the coyote g10 scale on the other side there is no g10 scale now in the hand that's okay as a righty all my fingers as I'm holding it are all making contact with the g10 the pocket clip over here offers enough girth that you get a decent grip on the knife but as a lefty maybe I'm not sure how comfortable I'd want to be holding this pocket clip but nonetheless as an EDC folder gerzean really never holding the knife for an extended period of time so it really shouldn't be an issue righty or lefty the blade itself is comprised of the aus-8 steel to drop point with a full flat grind it features this black coating on the on the blade the weight of this knife is little over three ounces

overall length is 7 inches closed length is 4 inches I will do a side-by-side with the rat 2 which has been my EDC of choice for since I've had it I'm always get it out now little just size comparison between two popular knives pretty much identical in ratio handle blade length all of that and for me personally as an EDC goes it needs to be small I'm not going to carry anything bulky in my pocket because it's just not going to be comfortable that's why I like this particular size of knife as EDC's go I really just like the blade compared to the rat - I like the blade a little bit better on the Zancudo just a design of it pretty much the same type of knife same quality same design features more or less because this is an EDC you're mostly just going to be doing quick tasks with it or how at least use my EDC involving open up boxes cutting you know quick quick swipes nonetheless not really holding anything too long cut a piece of paracord trying to slice just push and see how good the edges relatively easy no really song or anything like that slice straight through it clean cuts on the paracord make sure to pick up my trash before we leave grab a little stick to just do some more whittling so just with this little bit of whittling having no scale on this side just the pocket clip really never felt awkward or weird or goofy or anything like that so maybe some of you won't like this but to me personally really not an issue comfortable enough in the hand since it is small enough knife so cool little design is this mosquito on there I believe that is one Zancudo what it means in Spanish is mosquito kind of cool and for me picking an EDC in a folder there's tons and tons of choices out there you know a lot of quality knives a lot of different companies making them so for me basically it just comes down to aesthetic material choices are there you know plethora of them available it always this comes down to aesthetic for me and I just like the you know like the look of this knife the design a little bit of a fatter poem swell right here make a little bit more comfortable in the hand and then you get this little place for your finger to rest your index finger to rest get a comfortable grip on the knife and this coyote Brown really is this a nice contrast with the black coated bleed the black thumb studs the pocket clip is multi positional whether you want it tip up or tip down depending you can change that via these two screws there's a small lanyard holes coming through the frame here and the scale on this side and that's basically all there is to the knife I know se has some some new knives coming out very soon some more of the bushcraft line non-coated bleeds different type of grind edge grind so be interested check this out but again all in all just you know decent quality knife for you know bargain price for a folder if you need it it'll serve you well so hope this video is helpful give you a little better look if potentially you want to buy this knife if you have any questions about this knife you know don't hesitate to leave a comment remember to check out blackout doors calm check us out on Facebook check out everything we're putting up on Instagram as well this is Craig signing out with blackout doors later Turtles
