hey wuzzup Turtles scraper blackout outdoors today we're going to be taking a look at the condition of the bic lighter we've been doing an exposure test on this big lighter and we're coming up or we might be at nine months right now it's been about two and a half months since we last checked in on it so I'm going to finish this little feather stick I'm working on just for something there something to light up should the lighter still work and then when I talk a little bit more after that this is what we're working with today I did a little platform style a terrace okay it's called a tear so I laid down here try to light the bigger mass up top let's go check on this later here's a lighter sitting I wrote the date on the sticker that came on the later as a new lighter and that's completely worn off the date so maybe I'll put that on a 5 a sharpie know if a sharpie on me but at this lights or if it doesn't light we'll take a look at the lighter in closer detail once we see if this works place your bets now it lit right up that was the first try first flick I could feel moisture all over it and it's wet you know it's been laying on this completely saturated substrate but went right up went right up still sounds completely full or not completely full but it sounded like there's still a lot of fluid in there that doesn't surprise me because it's been under the canopy this entire time besides the winter when the leaves are off but there's hemlocks around just conifer so it'll block some of the Sun in the winter it's lighter less strength son but really not surprised that this worked like a charm so the last video we uploaded I believe was May thirtieth on this and now in this that video is film prior week prior to that upload so it's been over two and a half months since we checked in on this and I can see a little bit more rust forming it's a little bit more noticeable now there's a little bit right here where my index finger is you can't know if it's going to pick that up probably not there's a tiny bit forming right here where that guards meeting the top of that housing is a small small spot forming and over on here sort of this event as well I can notice a little bit more maybe the camera's not picking up I can tell a difference maybe by next summer the camera will be able to pick up the rest illness and remember this is not the be-all to end all tests we gotta get you just gotta keep we're doing it again and remember this is not the be-all to end all of exposure test for the slider because these are just the environment the factors this one has been tested in you know we haven't really done any I don't know like impact tests or different climates different yeah just different climates so just keep that in mind when you're thinking like oh the pic lighter is indestructible blah blah blah it is to a degree you know it's a high quality and expensive piece of equipment but for I guess scientifically speaking and doing an exposure test exposure tests and variables and controls and all that this really isn't that but it's a pretty good test to see what this what this layer is made of so I'm not sure when we're going to check back in on this maybe it'll be in a couple months maybe it'll be a month maybe it'll be five months we'll see so stay tuned for another update on the lighter and we know what you thought about this video anyways thanks for watching mrs.
