hey what's up Turtles it's creek here with black outdoors I've found a plant out here one of my walkabouts through the woods shooting some videos as a plant I wanted to share with you that I've seen here it's the first one I've actually seen come up with the flowers in this particular plant the species which is that the trout lately your throne IAM americana ms its latin name and it grows in these large colonies would surrounded me on the ground here I want to show you a particular particular specimen that as the first flower is coming up and is really large really large leaves so if stony if you want to try to get through it and I'll just keep talking about it give it down here on the trail

characteristic of this trout Lily when it comes up in the spring is this modeling of the leaf this darker mahogany if you will in the green the modeling which is said to resemble the pattern of a trout which is why its common name is the trout Lily but for scale purposes these are really large leaves for scale and like I said all the other colonies I've seen walking out here try to get a lighter down at least maybe use some sort of point of reference to how big these leaves really are least 60 how tall it is either way they're really large really large and they have these yellow flowers the steeples are covering them right now it's modified petals and they're not opened up yet so i will definitely will definitely be shooting some videos when all these flowers are in bloom but what's cool about these they form really old colonies and they're able to sell propagate through rhizomes and through pollinators coming with the pollen when the flowers open up inside this is sort of the series and we're going to be so Nina are going to be kind of chrono chrono pulling the plants as they come up as the weather warms up and stays warmer all these plants come up angiosperms we're going to be having videos so if you're interested in plants you know keep looking for our videos it's the trout Lily it's Kirk signing out with black outdoors later turtles
