Hennessy Hammock Ultralight Sleep System Review
Description
After trying several different hammocks in my time and to be honest not really finding any of them particularly more comfortable and effective than just sleeping on the ground, I was very pleasantly surprised when trying the Hennessy for the first time! It's clearly been designed by people who know what they want in a sleep system because it shows, the quality and usability are second to none!

hello people and welcome to another video today we're gonna be doing a full review of the hennessy hammock system that i've got a scent from cosy hammocks I'm gonna be looking out at the hammock the top and all the extra little bits they sent me to go without to make it a full system okay so starting off with the system there you get you get straps this is one strap here roughly about a meter long but I also got another strap here but I've literally used to touch them together loop them through each other and it just means for those trees are a little bit too big for that one you can go around and use the extra lengths and get three of these large trees for example this one here so I'm just gonna go around here I'm not going to give you a tutorial house at these open this mission gonna show you yeah well do we okay so here's the hammock itself it's make skins I've just got wrapped around itself from the end of each hammock you've got a wad of cordage where a hank of cordage sell us on the way I do it but everyone does it differently just thread it through here get rough it's where I want it I'll just put two half hitches in just for the time be so I can get these they're quite a length of the hammock correct
and now near the storage audio tool hole well I'll do a two line here on both sides but this is the first one it's quite cold today so it's gonna be a bit of it I get this doing one do our best
I do a three wrap taut line because you are lying in the having after all so you want to be British okay they want to go that one doing I just do little to a lot hitch another sorry just to get the tension okay so the cool thing having the snake skins is that when you set them off you just literally set up the habit so it is dead taught and then when I release the habit it just drops away from the ridgeline and it's pretty much perfectly set up already I'm going to Mesonet with it unlike all the havoc systems where you have to kind of get the see ok so here we are with the top the thing I love about this this tom is the quick deployment topic you have two little hooks on the guide line of the hammock all you need to do is find the ends of the hump make sure throw around do there anything here so instead of app users set for a Ridgeline you use the same ridge aligners the hub itself to all the combs one system pretty cool okay so one of the small features about this top which makes it so great in my opinion it's got this little pocket into the corner of each of the corners and we keep your guidelines originally it cleans with nylon cords that I've replaced it with some tiny nuts and go to the doc diner I've also put some Gold Line patients on there as well just as an extra bit of customization makes it easier as well I'm just going to pull these out now on the end of here I've got some big bow lines set already 10 pigs
you
okay so on both both sides of the hammock there are these piece of bungee cord with hook shot and they simply hook up to the corner of Utah if you do that both sides it's gonna pull the the hummock out itself even more ruins it's a long slow feature too happy it saves your getting all kind of there wrapped up in your own hammock it just keeps it nice and Wars you got to close the space that we okay so now we'll talk hammock the one slight downfall I can see to this hammock is the zip is only on warm soil compared to other habits with a visit from both sides well though I completely understand why the duty to save on weight I mean the zip is possibly probably the heaviest components to this kind of product so once you get used to knowing where your zip isn't here to work out which side is it's on before you set off it's not really a problem but to begin with it was a bit of a hindrance for myself it's got two zips on with troubles again two small things that matter having tolls is to make it so much easier when you got cold hands the mosquito net itself hangs on the originally which is quite nice rather than have it all in your face or a vertical poles or anything like that it's just all integrated in itself the hammock itself it's a particularly different design to most hammocks there is no tension in this part of the hammock all the tension is on this ridge line here so it just means this bellows and you means you can get a perfect diagonal line and I finally so very quickly any just exceptional in the quality compared to other hammocks is just second to none on the bridge one here you've got this little stowaway compartment which I swear by now it's so handy to put the phone in after putting their Kindle but I just live where I'm camping overnight this saw McStuffins here Romney it's unbelievable but yet it's just really handy and you've also got a couple of pegs here and I keep my talk and that's movable so you get that right at your way okay so as I was explaining because of the lack of attention in natural humming itself it means you can get a perfect bang Ally and you can like burn for your stripe rather than having to sleep like this so it's yeah you see the difference so I mean I'll bring you in in a minute but you can see where there the hammock is pleated in a special way go into the top and that makes a definite difference because it could feel the tension underneath you keeping your nice and flat okay so here's the hennessy hammock sweet mat full the hammock call him so it's like a one to two season mat reflective with air bubbles inside it it's designed to be slim so it kind of fits the size of your body and it's also got a bungee cord clip so it actually Clips inside the hammock and my experience of comments is when you put a sleep button there and see that moves all around then you end up with it and either falling out of your hammock or your feet or off it in your feet coal or vice versa but this actually troops into actually works really well I'll just show you how this works it's really quick deployment
yeah nothing straightforward you just got some loops inside the hammock which keep - so they get over this back end and obviously because it's bungee cord it's going to adjust to when you're mine in it it's going to stretch so you just reach the stage exactly where you are there you go pretty simple nothing really special about it I am sold on it because worked really nicely but again I wouldn't want to use it in winter or when it's off it's to be really just really squats thin wire so he doesn't work supporting work and for the weight of it I think the match itself comes into a 200 run so if you're looking to kind of keep of weight David and the soy's as well it's actually put a comma so yeah that's kind of the map that I've been using with it where it's really nicely and I'm gonna know bring the top down and show you what it's like as a fully enclosed system okay so there you have it that's a fully enclosed system really impressed with it I mean there's any negatives I had to say he said this this top hasn't got any doors on it in Norway there was a bit of wind coming through at times but that's up to me to kind of look at the grade and to get some doors on my top but it's design is such a way that it's gonna reduce weight because you've got these corners for so and you're not gonna get wet either Sir Walter forgets this tarp to pretty much come in horizontally which isn't going to happen
so yeah overall I'm really really impressed Lee I'm really really happy with this system I mean I've got no qualms to say baby okay so along the whole system I've got to scent these rain caches they used I got sent for by Larry took one to Sweden and actually really cool they've got a thread in the bottom or you can attach like a standard plastic bottle to yeah they want a mesh section in the middle to stop debris from getting in and they've also got a little tight tire point in the middle obviously this is a bit long to the ground so you want to get a bottle in here but the demonstration purposes is going to work fine I'm gonna use the remaining bit of cordage I've got here just pass through there
they're not the colander there I mean worked tremendously well here in Norway it just hangs there like that and the water just flows straight into me touches more which is more avoid avoid make the pain of the bottle patties a lot of water and I think I caught about five hundred million maybe ten fifty meets when I was in the middle of that store on dye day six so that's pretty cool
yeah that's just a little addition you know you ever got to carry these you can kind of do that if you need to but for what they are if he is for Katherine you're gonna save yourself water collecting all the time yeah okay so just pop in the snake skins back on there really is to pull over and the cool thing about these particularly system as well is I can actually get the top in these snake skins as well so I kind of the whole system already connected and which is cool don't always do that because I don't always you know I do like to be Mohammed get it just by itself
they just lounge around in it without having the tarp on so don't always do that well I did try it when I first got into the East possible so that's something that you'd like to do they there you go you know you can do it although it does look quite toys its top and look around think you can get it off in there but you definitely can make sure you
there you go okay so that's it for this review overall I am extremely extremely impressed with this system Thank You tennis hammocks for sending it mate I'm eternally grateful
in terms of everything I'm very pleased with it
hammock itself works fantastically and the tour I went for the slightly large top and you have the choice of the smaller all upgrading foot they let you grade to the seventh day which is why I've got for nothing which is fantastic and the whole system itself weighs in just over a kilogram so for a whole sleep system that's fantastic well that's excluding the nuts if you include the 200 gram mass he probably get into money on a kilo and a half but it's really light to say and without the entire system so that is the ultralight backpacking of Soylent hammock with zip and the 70d top with the sleep mat few extra bits see all the snake skins and such and such but yeah that's it for this review any questions be sure to let me know till then thanks for watching I'll see you again very very soon you
