hello people and welcome to another video so in this video I want to talk to you about something very important and that is socks now in my mind socks are really underrated in the outdoor community and a lot of people that I know don't really take socks very seriously and I for one take socks very seriously so I want to take you through a range of socks I've been in using for some time now and there by a company called sport socks and the range of socks are called Sherpa socks now the thing about these socks are fine so fantastic is the range comes in such a variety there is a sock for pretty much every single type of sport now I've got a collection here or a selection out of the range the range is much bigger than just these four pairs but I want to run through these with you and because I think I've got and four of the main pairs here and I have a specific purpose for each pair of sock so before going through that I'm just gonna explain why I find songs so important it's easy to em just go out and wear a pair of socks but if you're out for any long period of time socks become more and more important one haiji your feet sweat a lot especially if you're hiking you your feet of crunch constantly producing sweat so if you're wearing just an average Joe Bloggs pair of socks you're going to need several pairs of socks because every day or every two days you have to change them out because they're going to get to a point where they just can be like run see they're going to stink and it's going bad fifi because it gonna be that much moisture buildup in the sock so that's why I wear merino wool socks merino wool socks are really good because marina was obviously everyone knows one marina Walter right but if you don't it's basically at the wall is very good at pulling the moisture away from your feet and wicks that's the word I'm saying wixom walk-in wicks moisture away from your feet especially was doing huge it's drawing your socks out consistently so it's keeping your socks lasting a lot longer you'll be able to go on the trail for a day or two with it actually having to change your socks and it doesn't actually smell half as bad as your normal cotton socks and I've also a pair of socks for five days ones and at the end they did smell obviously but nowhere near as much as you would think they would smell so yeah merino wool socks they're great for hygiene they're great for longevity so you don't have to carry to me too many pairs of socks with you when you're out and about and also all phone they seem to last longer something about a bullet just long lasting that they're better wearing and then your average cotton sock or synthetic stock so see ya without further ado I'm going to start putting these socks on now and talking to you about each individual sock and why they're particularly good for different purposes I hope you're interested okay then so I've set myself down here in this long grass which is really irritating me because there's nowhere else to sit however put my shorts on and put my Solomon's on top and put the socks on for you easily and kind of show you the sock I swear people are gonna think I'm to go mad first it was a couplet know it sucks right so the first sock we're going to go down from called the thickest heaviest wool sock to the lightest so these are the bonnets these are a 60-percent merino wool sock and there are all year round stock there a winter stock radio I'll use e to winter I'm going to put them on explain to you what it is about them that I like you know the other sock saw a little bit more fancy this is more of a basic sock but what I like about these socks is a quite tight fitting when they first come in like there when you buy a cheap soft and then the baggy and shit comedy with that I need a nice hot stock they have quite narrow thief anyway and what I really like about these socks is that they shot your sticker underneath so where you need the padding and we need that in waiting to get the most wear and tear it's a little bit it's a little bit thicker and then at the side of the socks
they have like elastic so it keeps it nice and tight around your foot and the worst thing you want is out with it if you want your socks are last you don't want to be going by the alpha Tony so this squadron Erik's opera is a thick socks you won't wear this I am in some app we definitely winter an awesome stock when you do some heavy hiking you've got your big thick and put your big thick walking boots on so that's the bonnet sock so now the next sock is the donor diary or the donor Giri now this is actually my favorite sock it's a very good all round of sock and still kind of advertisers an all year round soft but it's not as thick as the bonnet so this is more of a this amorous spring to autumn saw but suppose you could wear in the winter as well it's not as hot as the bonnet it's kind of a medium height sock but what I like about this sock is on the several features about this sock that I really like em first of all it's got elastic all around the side like the bonnet it's also got this it's gone l and that are on each left and right its foot another thing that annoys about socks is obviously when you don't know left and right you just put any old sock on and then I'll say they get em like distorted so you'll have like a big where your little stories you'll have a big kind of like a bit where you when you're big tail was if you've been wearing on the other foot any at any point so that's really nice you've got Ellen are mine each sock so you know which foot to put it on and and that just keeps the stop and get installed at any point yeah it's also got its again it's slightly thicker on the underneath and thinner on top so it lets do sweat purse right away from you we've also at the thickness and the comfort underneath for Cushing here what else we've got we've got added support on the back section of the ankle which is really good and but the thing I'm like most about these socks is they've got silver ions built into them and which if you don't know what that is my basic understanding of it and i've had for a while is that silver oils basically help for antibacterial purposes so the only if you got merino wool socks I think he's a 50-percent marina war and which is obviously good for wicking away sweating good hygiene but the walls are got silver ions in as well which again is very good for cleaning bacteria which means the socks going to last longer when I'm wearing a sock I want the sock the muscle if possible if i can get away with you in a week high with two pairs of socks that's good news i don't want to carry several several pairs of socks leave a key changing it constantly that's what i like about these and what should also explain is with all these socks the way they're built is they have the merino wool is on the inside all the socks amount of two layers the ink the inner layer is in the marina wall which again is we can wear this wet and the outer layers like a synthetic thermal way which is helping insulate your feet and that's with all the socks so yeah they're my and then my favorites because they're just a good generic sock and they then long lasting not too thick not too thin just noise the next awkward got is the dinner Lee this again is very similar very similar to the doing a gallery in terms of size and actually thickness as well but however there's a little bit of a difference Heather dinner guri was thick on the bottom but filling the top these are actually thin on the bottom and click on the top these are quite nice because they've got a lot of padding and in the areas you want the rocks or around the ankles and on the top around the toes they've got very thick padding in very specific areas again you've got right and left so you're not going to get that Distortion these don't have silver ions that's why they're not they don't favor over the dinner is for me and but they all just a general merino wool sock which is good for hiking so I would genuinely carry these two socks with me I'd where the dagger if as long as possible and then eventually what I'm doing to swap out i'll swap up to the dinner Lee's and which aren't as good as my opinion not for my purposes anyway but still very nice very comfortable and I do actually lots of thickness on top but I don't think it's as practical as a vinegary anyway it's all best stocks were and last but not least we have the minus lose these are a very low cut sock and the sixty percent merino wool but the courts thin they're not very thick sock these are great for summer hiking so if I'm going for a day hike or something in my Solomon's I wear them with that if I'm going for a run I'll wear these I actually went for a mountain bought Royd I think it was the last vehicle to wait before and of all these and they're really great Cleon sweat too much in them cuz the very thing you get some good a good air passing through there then I'll isn't quite a nice thing sock see you've got a great you can actually you can see what i mean by great range you really lightweight hiking sock there and or any kind of other outdoor activity you got your slightly thicker sock if you are going for a bit more of a day hike again slightly thicker stop what you get still ryans for longevity they're gonna last long time and your winter sock for when it really is piss-poor it so and you've got your big thick leather boots on and and you've got the meds are going to go hope you like to get your leg warm as well so there you go there's the size comparison of all for socks so there you have it that is my collection of merino wool socks and from the company sport socks a racket I really do recommend you go over there and check out the range of Sherpa socks this isn't the whole range they've got a probably about double the amount that I'm showing you here these ones I've got and I think they fit all my tech dual purposes currently and as and when needed so go and check them out i'll leave the link in the description and just go and have a little bro's of the range because i just think it's a fantastic and company and the that they're not a massive company so and give them some support and then showed about them a little bit because they're producing a great product here so yeah I hope you enjoyed the video i hope you know i'll go to go and buy some socks and until next time thanks for watching and I'll see you again very very soon
