hello people and welcome to another video and this one's a little bit different it's kind of not so much outdoor based but we are indoors but I just wanted to introduce you to my workshop and recently I've started myself a leather business and it's been going for about three months now and taken off quite nicely and I started the start of the year and I've always done a little bit of leather work it's kind of a lot of a hobby of mine just bits and pieces you know it's quite handy to be able to create things for yourself and it's a lot of cheaper but people start wanting things so I started doing it and and taken off so I've created myself a business I've called it clever leather name a friend of mine come up with that and I really like the name I think a little bit quirky it's quite cool and so I've been running it on their Facebook page or the mini area through Facebook and it's been it's been nice nice and popular actually
and I was surprised at how quickly it took off and so yeah I thought it was about time I introduced it to YouTube and I thought it was a bit silly of me really to not use this audience that I've developed for myself and to kind of advertise and what I'm doing here and I'm not planning on making any leatherworking videos really and and I'm not going to bombard you with product product videos either I just thought I'd use it as a platform to just try and get a little bit more attention to what I'm doing and I might as well do it if you've got that capability there and see I thought I'd just take you through today and some of the rains I've created and what's been popular and just show some prices and so if anyone is interested you know you can find their contact me on the clever leather page or on my normal photo page and yes so if you did want something basically so I've been working with canvas canvas and leather I will be doing in canvas items as well which is proved a nice balance between the two they kind of complement each other quite well and as you know I'm big into more traditional natural material so I've come to leather is where where I like yeah so yeah I thought I'd take you through a few things before I start rambling on then what have we got here and it will start off these these are canvas and leather done pages I created one for myself a while back and I'm remaking it and they're quite nice little items and perfect for put on your belt and fold it out and if you need a page to collect tinder and stuff I generally use it for tinder well I'm walking to camp on a weekend camp I'll grab some dry grass or some fern or some rose by willow herb or something and stuff it all in here pretty handy so this is a tall one for the press stood roll it down I'll say canvas bag nice size folds up nice and small and also got a nice birch wood and toggle on there I've caught myself here these are going for 35 pounds for a tall one and there's also a standard one which I do just hasn't got any tooling it hasn't got hasn't got a toggle either and there are 30 times the collabora and everything comes in the right colors obviously you can do the leather whatever color I want and the canvas comes in a solid green beige beige chestnut and dark coffee brown he Concord a mix and match from the corner looking tones you're going for she's pretty cool this is again something I needed for myself and it kinda took off is a cuttlebug pouches go on your belt it's got a heavy-duty pressed it on there and then a suede page with drawstring you keep down your belt and keep with your catapult ammunition in there row next year and waist
really to going to get to to poor and next door we've got a smaller version iconic out of all pouch these are probably one more bestsellers actually they've been M been quite good sellers that coin pouches and saves you kind of keep them your change in the bottom of your pocket I'm not a fan of that I've been using other coin pouch for or well over a year now and I find it really handy so I started to make them and these go for fifteen pounds and the corner another array of different colors and we've got some bear in here with a base raid got tan with dark brown suede we've got a light brown we've got dark brown with a light brown suede sorry and got on mahogany leather with a lock on the olive green suede and I just I really like these they're just not very big but they're just enough to go that's kind of the amount of change you generally have on you and so I kind of refill my if I've got more change of how am I going to refill it take it take a bit a group okay with me she keeps we change together so you can just get it all out and it's all in one place at the same time next up we've got belts a lot of orders for belts actually it's been a popular one and and I was actually the sideral at one point just becoming the belt maker because they're really enjoyable to make and every one has a belt actually everyone has pretty much everybody uses a belt and you just can't beat a good quality leather handmade belt in my opinion I mean I've had I've had one or two I think I've got one from another leather maker leather worker and but now I've made four for myself so I've got a lot of belts and this is the tall one it's got rolling all along and a hot hard brush and buckle she's got toiling away across it and at all--not the belt goes for 35 pounds and standard and plainly the belt goes for 30 pins and playing one here no touring on and there's also the option of the carving and getting quite good at my carbon as wellness you con about whatever you can con about whatever your design you're after and you carve belts cut go for kind of forty plucks pens I mean all depends on what you gotta work doing really and they've been fun to make and I'm also kind of trying to keep costings as pricings as low as possible I don't really want to be one of those high high-end makers and I realized that everybody wants a good quality keep as low lower price as possible obviously handmade stuff costs more than your factory produced products and but I am trying to keep it in at a healthy kind of price I don't really want to be sky-high and but I don't also want to be too low that I'm working for nothing and so I've been trying to keep it kind of a nice average and it seems to working you know I'm not really getting or get everybody complaints about things being to privacy so seems to be going quite nicely and next up is a canvas summer a coffee patch I'm Sammy I don't actually pronounce that and these have been pretty popular and Richard Blake the urban Dodger on YouTube he had one he was the first one to want one and they've been popular since you can obviously keep your in fresh ground coffee in there or you can keep it for quite a baking ingredients for flour and because they come in several different colors I've had a few people have like a whole range of different colors a couple of different solids as well and so they've kind of color coordinated a ingredients the bad flowering one sugar in milk powder in another and so they can kind of know what team what's in the green one what's in the brain one what's in the beige one that's pretty cool and yeah they're going for ten phone each which i think is quite reasonable and generally somebody wants like 446 i do kind of a a group a group price and discount for quite a few and then last but not less I've been crying wax canvas haversacks similar to the design of the Pathfinder one and I've made a lot of these books they're the kind of thing they're going on so I think they're quite useful and I think everyone should have a have a sack in their pack it's something I tend to just fold up trim in the back of the pack and if you do go for a scale take away from cam throw that on we water bottle in a few other things but if you've made the other no it meant for a couple hours obviously come you different colors so it's quite nice if you're going to get what you're after too much matching kit next twenty page my bike okay then and that's pretty much it really got a couple of other things we've got mcq bushcraft kinder pouch I enjoy the fact that it's actually called MC q hg qpush craft him to fetch now it's kind of a thing mmm last we got I met some bookmarks on the roads and card holders and there's an array of different games overs this is possibly my most purchased item not the most expensive autumn book kettle and Billy can pouches and just to keep all your kind of pots and pans and you know the sort of leave item in the fire said uh gimme all your the wrath you get dirty bottom in one of these it's also got a waterproof as well it's what canvas and you can kind of cinch that up and get it all kind of cinched together mostly and so I've never got one of these eleven Singh one of my pots I kind of really enjoy them that's pretty much it really and I just want kind of wanted to introduce this to you like I say I'm not planning on making too many actual leatherworking videos because it's kind of difficult because I work for all time so when I get home from when I get home about six o'clock or not I work till God knows what time some nights that I get stuff done for customers and so making videos isn't really something to think about some layers at the front to my mindset book so if there is something you want to say do let me know I wouldn't mind doing a couple because I do enjoy it you know it is a hobby of mine not just rajesh the business I'm not planning on trying to take this full-time is just a bit of extra pocket money for me really and something I enjoyed doing anything it's kind of it's a good way funding the tools that I need to use for my own stuff so I'm just enjoying what I'm doing really
that's the main thing so yeah if you would like anything I want to know anything do let me know and if you've got to purchase something and contact me on clever leather Facebook page I also do do custom stuff as well pretty much anything you can think of up and kind of make it now got pretty pretty good I'm confident I'm confident what I'm doing now so yeah that's it tall for this one I think so a thanks for watching and I'll see you again very very soon
