hello people so it's autumn winter is fast approaching and I don't remember if you remember last winter I did an overview of the ridge line grizzly jacket so I figured means as I used it all of last winter it's probably about time that I did a full review at this jacket and told you tell you what I think about it and I think it's any good or not basically and so yeah basically what I'm going to do is explain all the features of it and when I've been wearing it to where I've been wearing it and how its performed so yeah let's start from the bottom up basically these jackets is okay it's a smoke it's a smoke length Jackie - bunny this one has got a full length does it it's made of a microfiber fleece I think it's three then I called it three 340 °f something it's a very warm fleece and you don't want to be wearing these jackets in my old conditions I mean this is this is a proper winter top coat and over jacket yeah it's very warm it's very nice and it's got it is partially waterproof they don't they don't say it's waterproof but the site - water-resistant all the reviews that I had read before get in this jacket we're saying that the it can it can kind of withstand a pretty good pretty pretty nice shower and a half tested and it does actually keep you dry it doesn't actually soak up the water very well either it does Qantas the water just kind of sit on it and but the reviews I read said it's the seams of the jacket where they're sewed together is when it goes lit when it does let the water in
that's where you let the water in first which makes Center Stiles because those are the weak points of the fabric and what else to say I've been wearing these as an over jacket well I've been walking as you can see it's quite a mild day to day and it's just winters winter's approaching winters kind of get in here and we've had our first couple of cold nights and so I'm just kind of wearing this with a normal coat
and following just walking around but we're just get a look the cold up you can add an extra fleece under here as well or you can wear this as a mid layer and put a waterproof over the top and the ridgeline raw jacket or the rigid loin monsoon jacket are particularly good for that we just wanted to want a good waterproof to go over the top and then this can be your main kind of insulation fleece so yeah it's a small clothes jacket comes down just above my knees down the back thanks me that scooter a nice place to sit your bum pretty much it's great flux is just keeping your lower back warm which is nice and doesn't do that we've got jacket on it's normally trying to put on as well so that kind of works quite nicely and above those are normal pockets yeah when I first bought my first ever jacket which had hand warmer pockets in them absolutely fell in love if you haven't had a jacket with hand warmer pockets get one you will not be disappointed just it's a nice place to put your hands when you're walking around keep your hands close to your core so you're keeping them warm it's just a great place it's just a great idea the new this new edition of the Grizzly Ridgeline the Vigilant grizzly has got em all turns on the hand warmer pockets which is quite nice because they're the old edition didn't have that if you do want to store things in there you have got the option of putting the buttons and just to keep those things in there and as for the zip one thing I really like about the zip it's a nice big it's like a YKK zip it's not actually YKK zip book it's all use it does not snag hey tips at Snuggie so yeah it's a nice heavy-duty Z with a nice toggle on as well so when it's a cold day you're gonna have to grab that with these and it's not gonna be a problem Nick's busy put them if you see here there's a pocket just inside the baffle and that's basically a noise pocket it's a big pocket as well I'll just give you the comparison I've got a Samsung s3 which is quite a big Android phone and that goes in there absolutely no problem I can probably get another one in there as well on top of that it's a nice deep pocket and that's what I'll use that for I use that to keep my phone in there and my camera and from the cold days you know everything's a camera batteries die pretty rapidly so keeping everything close to your core is a great idea and really really steep there are two baffles which is great some swing jacket don't have one buckle and the wind can still kind of leak in there a little bit this has got one buckle that goes over the zip you know the secondary baffle that goes over that one and that really helps to keep the warm air and warm air in and the cold air out as you crumple oh yeah this is C comes right up the neck who's robbed up all your chip which is great it's actually like quadruple baffles at the top here because there's a nice little bit of fabric lip just Quivers over the zips it just stops here especially for me because if said tend to catching off that's your my beard here so it just stops that it just stops it from Reuben it's just nice bit of a bit of fabric there a mask for the zip we've got to probably keep them hot and actually for this it's only a small half the zip and the hood sorry what is it the zip is a zip the Hat the hood is a full a full size hood or straight over your head and cleans it further I've got a big head so as you can see the majority of my face quite nicely yeah and then if I zip that up you can see that that really keeps the elements out and there are two paul calls here but pull those in what that actually does is it and she's cinches the poor cord actually inside the hood so it's actually got like a storm flat which is nice because it's not that toggle then is keeping in the warm air it's also keeping the rain from actually getting into your face if you wear a cap as well and that means this bit of a foot here just it's quite nicely in there and doesn't flop there onto your face inside the jacket there are two toggles you can see these two toggles and what that basically does is it cinches and the jacket around your waist keeps again keeping the warm air in your top off in your core it's also great for making some skinny so it just keeps it a little bit tighter baggy on it and the fabric itself it's actually quite a quite a fabric which is particularly good for me for my photography when I'm out doing a little bit of wildlife photography it doesn't make much noise and what it is it's quite a mellow kind of a very rough noise which what a subtle noise it makes it's not very noticeable at all it's not like some of these fabrics and these nylon fabrics of the cuffs they as thin wrists and there's enough velcro here to really be able to wrap that right tight rein more recent I've got tiny wrists and but it's also big an office if you want to get some nice because it goes in there and then close up around there to keep warm airy you can do that as well and it's pretty much it really it comes in several colors it comes in black it comes in dark green and I do believe they're bringing a kind of teak color I think that's in the works and 100% yes see umm yeah so if you do want to add a fleece underneath there you can either add kind of an igloo an igloo fleas no igreja liner got a noise igloo and standard fleece I would work nice or a vest type Feliz or if you do want to wear this like when it really gets cold I'll wear like a nice thick jumper and I wear this and I'll throw over the waterproof as well so yeah there is also an anorak version of this of this jacket so if you do like this jacket but you don't want the zip you can get the anorak the smock pullover type of style that's just been released so yeah I hope you enjoyed this review I hope it's helped you help it's going to answered a couple of questions any more questions be sure to let me know in the comments and I'll get back to you so yeah thanks for watching and I'll see you again very very soon
