The Survival Russia Channel is about "The Reality Of Survival". I live on a Homestead in far away Russian wild nature. Here is no room for "TV" Survival.
Only Reality counts here. Survival Russia promotes the philosophy of always carrying equipment and never to be parted from equipment which will affect chances of Survival.
So did the old timers and pioneers of both the East and the West.

hello that guys welcome to Samara Russia so a little while ago I said that I wanted to I said I wanted to make a playlist with the purely solely instructional videos because I don't - instructional videos we have very I do realize of course that that it's possible to - to learn something from some of my videos right but I do not do any really instructional videos and many people do so this is gonna be the introduction to this whole series of videos is gonna be a playlist by self I think it cannot be called the real Survival Guide for this very first video I want to do something about survival shelters and debris shelter and stuff like that but let's start with the very beginning because because I want to start this instructional series at the very beginning and the very beginning is YouTube how to learn stuff from YouTube because you can certainly learn a lot of stuff from YouTube right so YouTube is a almost bottomless pit of of knowledge of all sorts of things and also source of useful and useless things so my advice is when you want to if you want to learn something from YouTube then try it out in a safe environment if some guide tells you that a wool blanket on one or two kilograms is just as good as any sleeping system I would advise you to try that out so you know we can say in a safe environment in your garden or not too far from your car something like this because that is of course not true nonetheless this is something that have been said also talking about shelters today and and and learning about doing stuff from YouTube right you have to understand that there's a lot of stuff made on YouTube that is made simply for making videos with gives a lots of views right one example of that is when people they are making their small forest fortresses you know they have small you can say Oh palisades and then they have a smaller lean-to and then it's a long-term survival shelter which is of course is not but most of these videos not all of them but most of them they have a lot of use so that is something that catched unlike a year or two ago or something like this you saw these a small forest enclosures you know pop up here on there and of course this type of shelter this type of camp it doesn't really make any sense other than it's great for making a thumbnail and a video that most likely gains a lot of use use not see me make that kind of stuff and lots of missus actually fake in my opinion some of the videos you can see the forest around the camps right these Palisades I don't know what they're afraid of but but yeah all the Palisades there they are made of wood that in some of the videos I cannot see so what I think is that happened is that they most likely went to a lager or you know some kind of a store and pour a whole load of nice straight - proofs or whatever it is and simply made that came from that because in some of the forests they are like super young forests and they use huge amounts of food for making these camps so and Palisades and all this stuff so so if you see this if you see channels with this stuff on it that's not saying that you cannot learn anything from these channels but you certainly have to you know keep an eye out be aware that this might be a channel which is more concerned about making videos with a large amount of views than actually teaches something useful why I'm saying that these kind of camps are useless because makes no sense they are useless but they make no sense because our ancestors they didn't make them the pioneers in in Russia and United States didn't make camps like that they made villages like this but the scape was not single men long-term camps right no that's not how it is but enough of the the rambling chest out the things for yourself and you know be aware that there are some things that are made for ya gaining a lot of use and not so much to teach you something useful this little video here we are at winter camp site that we actually had a kind of an so I will test it out over here winter survival shelter it's not so much wind and I was actually very hot today and this why I have to I have to get these boots off because it is crazy hot but I cannot really make it into the forest here without rubber boots but anyway we're gonna make a shelter with my lap blanket a space blanket emergency blanket but not only an emergency blanket but why are we gonna use an emergency blanket that is because that for making a good survival shelter or what you can call it you need a membrane and I will put this camera down here and I will explain a little bit about shelters and bla bla bla bla survival shelters why do we need a survival chances why do we need a shelter
sometimes with exits don't need it and I think I have proven that many times in my videos shelters can't be good but they have to make sense what is what do we need a shelter for we need a shelter to for example get out of the rain right that is that is that that must be one of the most obvious reasons that we need to make a shelter not so be soaked soaking wet and know have a little bit of a space to to to sit maybe a cook a little bit on and so on the thing is that for survival if you are in a survival situation if we are in a emergency situation it is very very difficult to make shelter from natural materials fast that is waterproof or water-resistant you can say this takes a long
and it's simply not you can say it doesn't make sense to to try and make such a shelter just for an overnight stay
and then hiking further on in next morning it takes it would take at least half a day or something at least half a day one person depending on the equipment speakable survival skills a membrane is needed in my opinion those from bark and all sorts of stuff and if I can find the down poplar at some point the fresh down poplar then I'll try and make one but we have to be prepared when we head out into the wilderness we have to analyze the situation when we leave from home and stuff like that and when we leave camp if that's the scenario we need to have have some stuff with us we need to be sensible enough to carry at least a knife in the bottle and something something maybe a small table maybe a space blanket my lap blanket as we're gonna use today because you can have a lot of them and they weigh nothing today we're gonna use only one mylar blankets so I prepare some materials let's get on with it then we'll get these boots off the cause my feet are boiling and it's not because I want to make a Cody Lundin or anything like that then I can of course also show you guys who do not know these things here awesome super fast we can hang it over that's sweet as a exiting go gotta do but yeah food webs they are ideal for for jackboots I've made lots of videos about it but they are deal for jackboots and rubber boots and so on because it's hard to wear rubber boots in they like to the events like plus 24 or something like this so the reason I chose this site here to make this video is that I already have some processed materials or some some shelter materials from from the window it means I do not have to dig in on new materials I don't have - Tootie forest the forest here right we have longest doing that but with two sticks like this there's a specific reason that are not just making a or lashing a typical a-frame so yeah let's see why I've chosen to make it like this here
of course gotta stand on something like that
so to tie down the corners I just use a little piece of charcoal over on the other side but here I found a little fountain in snail so I can put that in here yeah simply just use a what you can say some tightening knot goes like this a loop and a loop and put the loop into the loop this material here is of course not super easy to work with and keep in mind that the this is already used not that I don't have others but I wanted to show that it actually can be reused and repacked and so on but this year I've been sitting out for I know at least a month during winter during the end of winter so maybe it's not in the best condition who knows it's just a fast we made pointed stick we can call it centric so now we kind of have a shelter very flimsy shelter very fragile but nonetheless a shelter now we come to the tricky part and the reason why I'm using these stakes there and not just an a-frame because here we have another sampling from winter never gonna put on top here
something like this so now we can take all sorts of sticks and branches and debris you can say and then stick it on top of the spine here just stick it into the ground and there it just sticks here be supported on the spine up there I mean this is supposed to be a survival shields that have to be fast right I mean doesn't have to be pretty have to be fast and have to work and these are the bowels I used during winter so they are of course not ITU you put them on like tiles for depreciate tough to make its water resistance which you most likely gonna need about thickness of 50 100 centimeters or something but with this set up here doesn't matter well that's a Hanabi anyway you have a little shelter that can shelter us from the rain right it's not too bad the outer frame here that we made on top of the of the first frame is of course there to protect the very very flimsy my lap blanket here the face emergency blanket because it's not very strong all this would not be needed if we were using some other material if we were a little bit more prepared and brought with us a real top or poncho or something like this but this is just a demonstration of how you can make it but you can say minimal equipment come across with this also that most of the time you don't need a shelter actually then we don't need to to make shelter to it just for overnight just like on this it's gonna rain really bad or something like this then in my opinion I mean I said I didn't always since earlier but I think I've demonstrated a few times that they mean I've stayed out in all sorts of weather without shelter with sleeping bags sometimes without sleeping bag also in winter and so on see also it's not as important as many people want to make it yes the shelter here when certainly not hold off in any storm and it's gonna be pretty difficult to lose see also like this in Islamic conditions but of course very important because it puts the thick of the outer frame here is the thicker that debris shell is the more shields of the the membrane here is gonna be in a membranous of course very important to keep the wall out so wind and hard rain and so on so forth will of course be tempted by a nice thick layer of stuff I'm not gonna add all this stuff now because I could go down there and harvest all the Pope's bruises and just to make it look cooler this is not a video made for made things look cooler it's just too - yeah to show how to make a sensor like this it's basically a sphere debris shelter that works depreciation so that keeps Waterhouse so guys please check the links in the description please consider supporting the channel is this a big help and saffiano subscribe so barrels of like all that good stuff until next time get out and train get it done do something awesome and this unit next video guys
