The Survival Russia Channel is about "The Reality Of Survival". I live on a Homestead in far away Russian wild nature. Here is no room for "TV" Survival.
Only Reality counts here. Survival Russia promotes the philosophy of always carrying equipment and never to be parted from equipment which will affect chances of Survival.
So did the old timers and pioneers of both the East and the West.

hello there guys we're gonna say Russia just out checking some traps sitting some trips and yeah today's video is gonna be yesterday's video so by the end of the video here I have a few questions for you guys that would really awesome if you would take just a few moments to answer
[Music]
this video is gonna be about a snow shelter of course or snow survival shelter what we can call it I have many times
thought about and wondered what would I do if I was outside - 25 - 30 seas whatever something of this in this temperature range and I have to make it in the woods I mean a fire is of course Alpha and Omega is really important but I was thinking about what kind of what kind of equipment what I need and it should be some kind of equipment that would be okay say reasonable - so carry something that I would normally carry that means my snow shovel and my ground pad here and then they came up yeah maybe the poncho that Nate sent me and a space blankets I am not the big fan of snow shelters and the snow shelters can be life-saving and all that good stuff but they're just not really warm and one of the things that according to my own criteria I could not bring with me that was a sleeping bag because it's not feasible that on a hunting trip you will head out and you will also bring a sleeping bag a poncho with a whoopee it's feasible but you can say space blankets mylar blankets that is also possible
it's no sham like this little guy here it's also plausible because this snow shovel the ground pads here the German army ground pad I always have with me and of course also have at least one silk you saw was me so yeah that's what's my criteria but you can say cause of course if I didn't have any other option I would have cost make it snow shell that you could sit in but it's not really awesome I mean it takes a long time to make spaces limits it it's cold I mean it will be maximum 4 degrees Celsius maybe even minus 5 you can be between minus 3 n plus 4 that's a general temperature range on the snow sure
they can be nice if you have your sleeping bag and oh that's good stuff but still they're not awesome so I would go for something warmer I mean I shall only have in earlier videos that I've done minus ten with our sleeping bag you know with my canvas tarp and so on so forth did that last window but that was minus ten at the moment the nights here they're about - 19 - 25 yeah one of the criterias were also of course that it should be able to fit in a backpack of this size or the Russian army vest mashach you know the canvas small canvas bag today I have of course my Punk sled with me but it's not really full or anything like that so here we have the poncho that Nate sent me sergeant Nate here we have a space playing good you have some extra gloves and so on I have talked all everything out with this shovel there these shovels are awesome because you can take them apart just unscrew this guy here and remove the handle it would principally be possible to use any of these saplings here as a handle very often I actually bring this shovel with me you know I do that you can also see hopefully that you can strap the shovel head easily to a backpack in Russia we actually actually have a backpack versions of these guys here there with the fancy aluminum handles and with the plastic handle and so on so on but the little thing they are it's much more reliable just a plastic head than a stick here so down there we have the shelter end this twine measure from up here down to the shelter in to see it's about three meters long that's because I want a smaller sabir and lock fire here in my opinion making these shelters with a lot of pine and spruce boughs a big pyramid and piling snow upon it and so on so on it's it's it's pointless I mean I seen Lonni from so from far north bushcraft and survival make one that made sense but they also have to pee like 1 meter stick or something right it's not so awesome because some of the the heat that you hopefully will be able to to make will get into the shelters the snow on the underside of the pine boughs or spruce boughs or whatever it will start to melt and will start to drip and it's not awesome at all in my opinion the did you get the best winter shelters having some stuff with you having some kind of membrane and bla bla bla bla bla with you
[Applause]
and say so much is gonna be sort of like a super shelter maybe I'm shouting a little bit because the microphone on that canvas does super awesome there goes to space playing it to my lab language and put that on the inside as a reflecting rear wall and as a top cover I don't want any snow anything hundreds off and see how it goes mylar blankets flimsy this should be two hundred and ten centimeters times 160 or something the most work is of course to take out the snow but with the big snow shovel took like 30 35 minutes with a small show snow shovel it was like [Music]
so I forgot to press the record button but that's how it goes here's the poncho from Sergeant late we have the woobie here of course pegs there will be inside the poncho I mean that's most logic thing to do but let's put it on top of the base blanket
yeah so this is the basic shelter configuration actually this is how I would make cold weather shelter combined with a fire of course if I really had to end of course we're gonna test out this Hilda let's take a look here what's going on you can see is hanging a little bit but that's because the poncho is laying right up here the co2 ISM is sort of like the width of myself is a little bit higher so all our what we can say that I wanted it to be we have a reflecting wall in here we have a reflecting roof up there I have not fixed this blanket to the to the saplings I guess but I will and can do that pretty easily on this side here where we're sitting there's a space as a cap over there here also a gap is not as big I staked out this corner I've not staked out the middle yet and I've staked out that corner this hole there is relatively easy to close with some snow and some small tweaks and branches and whatnot just put some branches on here and put some snow on my general thought about this is the superior log fire will be out here like from the from the shelter here maybe a little bit further and as we all know this'll be or not fly higher reflects a lot of heat in this direction and hopefully this heat heat will be trapped on the other side of the poncho here and kept in as good as possible by the mylar blankets so this is how I will who can say how I would make a cold-weather shelter from my own materials not from nature of materials because I mean the truth of this whole thing is that if we're caught out here in - 25 - 30 - 35 what not and we don't have the tools and the things with us that we need then we have a problem then it's a serious problem so all there's a yeah magic tricks with the box of paper clips and some toilet paper and yeah you should be able to get by no you will not get by maybe you can get by through the night you know with a smaller fire on top of the snow but it's not really awesome to make fires on top of snow because it would normally will melt down and it would not really give much heat one of the things I kept in mind is that if I was stuck ever most likely because it could not find my way out and if I have to sit out and shake of coals the whole night and the barely make it to the morning my brain will not really work well I would not think straight my mother bore and process up here would not be top-notch and functional so so it is important to carry the right stuff with you or with me or with us when we are out right yeah how many would carry a carry a shovel inexperienced people will not carry a shawl but I know that definitely Lonnie from know far knows bushcraft since a while to make an example he definitely carries the shop with him on his snowmobile and out here we normally when we if we are going on snowmobile we would have skis with us nobody uses snowshoes here we all use keys that means we also have a shovel it'll take a little longer to show on this know all the skis but as possible so why are we not testing the shelter here today we should test it today right Monday on Monday my wife's sister and her husband we will come so hopefully next week will be outdoors adventure and over neither week I think we have to start the big superior log fire way out there and I think maybe we will have to or to the hunting cabin and stuff like that and we also have to test this shelter here at some point today I I try to make the shelter I made the space ready here not to waste a valuable time later on this is after all training also I wanted to see if this concept here held up I mean it's not 100% ready for an overnighter but if if I had to I'm sure it would work so when we go here we'll set it up the last we will tweak it a little bit let me say like that and hopefully we will do a successful overnight here interesting alright guys so that's my take on making a deep snow survival shelter woodland conditions made from materials that is essential in my opinion to carry when away from camp or out hunting alone and stuff like that questions I just bought a new knife and it should be here Monday just for fun but but kind of knife would I buy what life would I buy please let me know in the in the conference section also if I was to buy yet another life what should I buy and a third question especially for the guys of you who support the channel financially please let me know also in the comment section if there's any kind of gear butt or something like this kits gear blah blah blah that you would like me to buy and test out that'll be interesting for me to know guys so yeah please check the links in the description please consider supporting the channel it's a big help and subsea subscribes powers of like and all that good stuff until next time get out and train get it done do something awesome we'll see you in the next video guys now I will head over in the tree line and see what's going on in there
