hi everyone I've got another recommended product for you today and the product I'm looking at today is the type of item that everyone should 100% carry with them when they're out doing their bushcraft or any outdoor skills really so whether you're on a day hike or you're just nipping down the woods for a few hours have a look around or whether you're doing you know a full four week expedition and what I'm looking at today is my chosen style of first-aid kit so this is a personal medical kit and it is the trek first-aid kit by life systems and I recently lost my first-aid kit and I've come back to this one it's the same one that I've just lost and this is it in its brand-new form I've not used anything in this yet I've only had it a couple of days and all I've done is taking the tags off and I just want to go through why I think this is an ideal first aid it's kind of a base level for a personal medical kit to carry with you now as it is in a minute this is in its new form and there are a few things which I do add to this to kind of personalize it into a more bushcraft it's based kit and just to personalize it towards the things that I'm doing but I wanted to go through what is in this and why I think this is the ideal kit so let's have a closer look at this then first of all I'm gonna look at the that the kind of the pouch that this this kit comes in and realistically that the pouch is the main reason that I've picked this so you can see on the front it's got the life systems logo the kind of generic sort of first-aid sim but it probably has a name no idea what it is they says Trek first-aid kit and it's in this very very bright red pouch and fundamentally that is the reason I've chosen this particular pack it's small and lightweight it's just the right kind of size port I need but the fact that it's bright red and obviously a first-aid kit I feel is very very important in my pack I also carry a couple of these Maxpedition style green pouches just organized a pouches with bits and pieces in them and they're absolutely fantastic but the reason that I've gone for this red light systems first-aid kit is one I've used them for a very very long time and the packs and pouts is similar to the Maxpedition ones I found are always the same kind of green or desert sand or brown or beige kind of colors even though they've got this symbol on them they're not obviously a first aid kit at first glance so if anybody else comes to need my first aid kit in my in my pack wherever I'm in a bit of a hurry or it's dark I like to have something which is bright and obviously the first aid kit and on top of that it means that I can't misplace this this is one of the Keith's key features of your kit you know and things do occasion we go missing I can put this down in the forest it stands out there's nothing else in the forest that looks like this it's bright and obvious it's constructed from a PU coated ripstop polyester so it's pretty tough it's pretty water resistant it's not a hundred percent waterproof there's little gaps in the in the seams where water would get in but to be honest you know I'm happy with that the zip is water resistant as well you see that it's covered here and it's got a nice easy to open its it you know it's got that zipper is important it's easy to get hold off so if your hands are covered in blood or you shake and you call or whatever it's still easy to grip it's got a loop on the top so if it's packed tightly into your pack make sure it is accessible where you can just pull it out really really easily and then when I'm at camp on the back it's got a nice Allen press stud belt clip belt loop type thing so I can carry it around with me as well and you don't even notice that this thing is on your belt I tend not to carry it on my belt unless I'm going away from camp it does stay in my pack stays in one lump pouch to my pack but it's a nice little feature to have that so let's have a look at the second roost off here let's have a look at the stuff inside now before we do this you know it's important to note this is that you know this is a tracking first aid kit it's not a first aid kit designed specifically for bushcraft there are things that I will add and remove from this pack well as a base layer as a base starting point for a first aid kit this thing's excellent so let's have a look inside it

so in here we've got the things that this first steak is actually supplied with I haven't taken it out I've not open anything I've not added anything so in on the interior to this we've got an easy-access bit here which is just a little elasticated loop bit and then on this side there's a zip pop mesh bag which is good you can see through you can see what's in there so I'm just going to go through the items that you supplied with here so first of all we've got some some scissors they're pretty handy safety scissors just for cutting through clothing bits and pieces like that quick bandage odd little things and then we've also got kind of just in here kind of the more common stuff digit that you'll be using the stuff that's easily accessible so we've got a couple of sets of vinyl examination gloves they're not latex the vinyl that's a good thing which means no one's gonna be allergic to them there's a primary care guide in here and again that is really useful you know you should be first trade first day trained it at some basic level if you're going out into the woods but this thing is just an additional little guy and it's a nice thing to kind of familiarize yourself with keep you little ideas in there we've got a selection of alcohol-free cleansing wipes so they're good they look you're not going to resort to using them as fire lighters which is handy because they're alcohol-free and then we've got some like adhesive dressings and plasters here and a small pack of safety pins also very useful and as well a very very small pair of tweezers which I didn't actually realize we're here until just now they must have been caught up in something else so we've got tweezers scissors plasters alcohol wipes examination gloss you know standard standard first aid kit bobbins really you know stuff that's just in there and then in the other side we've got just the bandages that comment so we've got a cotton bandage hundred percent cotton it's sterile rats in here see it's got a little metal clips on it sort of decent quality bandages got a woven bandage again one thing that I do like about this lace system stuff is some of these bandages that I've seen in other first-aid kits yeah they're great because they're sterilized and they're in these great plastic sterilized packets but when you actually come to use them they could be really really difficult to open so these this one's got like a little pull tab on here which we can open up and this one's just wrapped in paper they do I believe some of the stuff in here does have sell-by dates but bandages shouldn't really just no on a stick or something that's painful

got small role of micropore tape again easy to access easy to open very very handy thing to have got a box of paracetamol in this we've got 16 capsules and this stuff you know I'm not gonna leave it in the box it says on the packet that's paracetamol and everyone should know how to use Parsi it more I'm not going to need the little slip in there you know be aware of your own medical conditions never administer or you know give out you tell people to take any kind of medication we have now these are good at fax you find these quite difficult to get hold of a lot the time these are ballistic plasters again you know this is a track in first aid kit so it's kind of more geared towards hiking and such but blister plasters in first in bushcraft also excellent things I've actually used these more on my hands in the past then I have on my feet but they're very very useful very very useful indeed

we have sticky dressings again they can be they can be stuck onto the wound and then balance over useful and we've got some swabs in there so quite a lot of useful stuff compacted into quite a small pack and just on the inside as well we've got a tag here giving some information about the first ache and it's what it's made from stuff like that so it's wiped clean keep away from fire usual stuff so whenever I head and pack all this stuff back away try remember which order it went in keeping your first-aid kit organized just like the rescue gear pretty important there's no point having it disorganized because if you're you know injured bleeding it's obviously very frustrating you don't want to be messing around trying to find stuff when you should just know where it is

that's all that cuts away that's the interior of it so we go that is the lace systems Trek first aid kit not a great deal to say about it or you fact that it's a rape kit the red pouch is absolutely fantastic I can't stress this enough I've said it before I'm going to say it again you know having that something that's easily recognizable as a first-aid kit is absolutely fantastic and no a lot of first aid kits come in a kind of a green or a bright green color but for the whole bushcraft survival wilderness skills thing tend to find most of our quick equipment is green brown beige or some variant thereof this stands out from the rest of your gear you've got and that is really important it might not be you that needs to access this first aid kit it might need to be somebody else

it's important that this your first aid kit is easy recognizable easy to spot you can put this down on the forest floor it's bright red it's not gonna vanish like a lot of the other stuff which is kind of camouflaged you can carry it on your person you can carry it in your pack it's quick and easy to access with this but on the top it's a great little first-aid kit as I've said is designed for walking and hiking so I am gonna do a video on kind of customizing this and turn it more into a bushcraft style first-aid kit but first a kit is an absolutely fundamental thing to pack into your into your bag it should be if you're packing for a trip whether it be like I said before a day trip a weekend away and overnight or for for a week expedition first aid kit should be number one on your list of priority things to pack before anything else is more important even in your life in your pack carry a first-aid kit with you you can't do your bushcraft if you're injured the price this is also pretty good I picked this one up for a thing is about 13 pounds in a local chest for shop we can get them on Amazon get them on eBay get them various online retailers the this available in most outdoor shop whether they be specialized outdoor shops right through to Camp family camping shops they're really really fantastic shop around you get a good price on them can't recommend it enough the pack size is perfect not too big not too bulky weighs very little I don't know off the top of my head exactly how much it weighs I haven't bothered to weigh because I'm gonna add things into it so yeah life systems Trek first aid kit well made well priced and an excellent piece of kit as always thank you all for watching I hope you've enjoyed the video please like share subscribe comment all that kind of stuff and keep watching for the video on how to customize this into a more specialized bushcraft first-aid kit thanks for watching guys airplanes are really annoying got even sick
