so we'll setting up camp now and one little slag will come up against is I haven't gone up tent pegs on me which isn't a problem because I always know how to make them and I'm just going to very quickly show you how to make a really kick quick really simple it's not pretty but a nice working temp egg what I'm starting with is a piece of green wood that I've caught a pic green book because it's a little bit stronger and I can harden that in the fire as well whereas all the rest of the wood round here is fantastic firewood but it's very very soft or brittle so to make the tent peg is dead simple all I need is a knife and a saw to cut the piece of wood so this piece is probably a little bit short it's about the same length as my hand it could do with being a few inches longer probably I'd say the same length is your knife usually is but to start off what we do is just very simply put a point on the bottom nice round point will do all I tend to put a bit of a flap point on them so I tend to find it's a little bit more effective just like so then we need to put a little notch in exuma so this is no use that the Rope other chords you use it is just going to slide off so the way we do that life is really simple find a nice good working surface that's not wiggling anywhere I've actually dog it in a little bit and then using the part of your knife that is closest to the handle just about a couple of inches from the top wiggle that backwards and forwards until you get a line which unfortunately is quite narrow so you're not really able to see it on the camera here and then once you've got that line what you can do it's a nice control movement using your knife just push your knife to take thin slithers off and those thin slivers will stop at that little groove that you've cut okay just do a few of them and what start happen is you'll start getting this where they've just flaked up but don't worry about that cause to get those little flakes off just come back to your working surface wiggle at night with a little bit more pressure this time and I'll start to come on just like so doesn't need to be a really big notch in there just enough to hold your rope in place or your cord or whatever it is you use in meatloaf a little bit otherwise it'll probably just smooth that off and there you go you have a nice working tent peg what other little things you can do to improve this a little bit is if you just kind of sham for the edge at the top a little just ever so slightly this can stop it praying at the top of you intending to use it more than once it just makes it look a little bit nicer and there you go there's a nice simple turn pegmatite Greenwood just watching guys
