Winter Warmers - Pine Cone Candle

Description

In this Video I demonstrate how to make a candle using only natural materials found in the forest. to make this candle we simply melt some pine resin then soak some dry pine cones in it. Once they have solidified they can be ignited and used to provide both warmth and light.

you

hi everyone what we're going to do today is we're going to have a lot of look at making a natural candle to help keep those dark lights away so what we're going to be using for this video a couple of pinecones and some pre collected pine resin so let's have a look at how we do this so the first thing i'm doing here is i'm just warming some of the pine cones that I've collected as you can see in here in ad right in and the reason for this is that's cold and they're slightly damp and because it's called it hasn't been warm and these pine cones are still closed but as they warm up they will open up and that makes for a better candle so I'm going to give these a couple of minutes and then just wait for them to open so now as I've drive my pine cones out my next job is on this very low heat that I've got here I'm going to melt down my pre collected pine resin which really slowly and keep the lid open it'll melt down really quickly so come back when that's melted down because I amer it out of a little bit battery power there so now my job is to very quickly take my pine cones I bought two for these smaller ones because they fit in the Tim better and just dip them in this pine resin and try and get them absolutely soaked to it it's quite difficult task because they dry the pine resin sorry dries really quickly so I'm literally just smearing it on getting it in all that liquidy stuff then once I'm done max already started to dry take my pinecones and leave them to solidify
