okay so as you can see we have now offended above the tree line the way isn't as feet from here but it's still we've still got quite a way up to go what it's not quite as harsh and demanding so this is our current view and it's pretty stunning to be sure I was raining saleable so there's monkey lovely Brian so yeah I'm going this call me gobbling gobbling keeper lovely gobbling keeper yeah onwards and upwards cessation it's totally good as you can see you about free out of breath well I you can hear more more appropriately imagine it'd be pretty easy at the packs on like you saying though I think the issue is the pack so it's worth pointing out I know what's your pathway inning that with all your camera stopped right no mine without my camera equipment but all my food and water everything with 9.1 kilograms with my camera stuff 15 and a half so it's pretty heavy and i only got a little legs for climbing these steps with as we've got higher up it's got a little bit ICS and colder which brian is really happy by we love the cold aren't you yeah we're almost at our now and just see here that's a war for course our milk guilt which is face from the time were going to be comforted by michael many guys did you see that it fell off the cliff that would have been by willis I've got the car keys he took down the bottom so he finds no wasn't on Gran its Saruman going to bring down the mountain so as you can see we just hit the snow life it's January so snow was to be expected no I was not just not not all we saw in the mines in genuine oh alrights like this did we know right on the fun I'm waiting most additional things to plunder give us know so it's snowing we're so close there now which is class taking our time with it Brian's doing a bit of molding about the snow don't like the cold Brian can't generate his own body heat just noodle heat Weaver we both set up now we stopped and it is it's cold in it if Brian's gone back to the 1980s 90 style jacket here it's so bro just already camera it's really good you look like we've got that kind of slightly faded brightness to it like everything in the 90 HUD let all night is outdoor gear does and so I'm gonna take your on our set up a little bit I've trying something sort of kind of new it's a setup of you before but I'm doing it with a different type which is slightly different shape so it's the other two temple thing that I use so here it is it's work reasonably well and this is using the DD superlight tarp which means that the sleeping kick is way very little and inside I have got my stratosphere my snugpak stratosphere things a bit dark in there sorry with my bagon my sleeping bag of stuff in it the toes are sticking out slightly at the end because I've got some rocks at the back just which means i can go right to the back of it this time but i don't think it's going to be a problem at all the gore-tex bag and brian is over here in his mansion what's it called an a look
oh yeah it's a looks mini p2 and I have to say I'm absolutely probably going to get one of these because it's really it were not so quick it's really spacious got a huge porch i also want one of these thermarest sure things to go with my therm-a-rest at o'brien's gear so I'm actually testing a quite a few different things I've got my therm-a-rest what's it called thermarest x-lite with me say I've used it once out in really wet weather not laughs yeah whew we can go and I'm using it today the first time in the cold I'm confident it's gonna be all right it's just it's a three-course one and I just hope my feet don't get cold still sleeping out in the every sound bag so four years on and I've still never trade it I absolutely love that sleeping bag is it's just phenomenal how will it stay up I've never even had to have it cleaned yet because I using leaving bag liner she's good just for Charlie just as proof I have got admin bryan batt me up i have actually got admin and i'm here to how would you improve it what do you lose earlier I didn't I certain but she didn't you forgot the batteries advice and that was only could've de nominee otherwise have been my electrical was like I think so oh we did we we had a bit rate and a really cool idea actually of how tomorrow was going to go so the original plan was going to go but all the time we're going to go back to the car originally and then drive the next point but then on the way out we decided actually it'd be really cool if we headed over this this peak here which is a red pike it's just this one up here because that our next destination is actually on the other side of this on the other side the valley however that's not going to be possible for any more is it Brian why should I think I'm finally royal food what it is if I eat your food what am I gonna wait why we're not doing that plan bride with a left food in the car because I thought we were doing the original plan and also go up to change the class five min happy fucking bad memory so the plan that we had is going back to the I upside down oh no sister screen it's going back to the original plan we're going to go back to the car in the morning drive round 2n Adele which is more of a lowland camp isn't in the valley yeah cozy it will be in a forest we might be I have a Flymo that that be we can free because I wish we can find out because my hands laughs I know we will if you wanna have fun you're definitely delicous yeah so see what see how we go but I think the plan now is to get a hot drink or dressing yeah absolutely but really I McKendrick more Jackie's it's so bright it's like I'm ready aim we will never get lost in me coming camel press a camel getting sold yes please bring stoning lovely right I'm going to put the camera down my hands freezing
how you feelin Brian did you wanna see something the water stars how your feet oh hi hands more actually how do you know much will be like crazy I've discovered that buying the cheaper gas canisters it isn't great whoop because that is for possible fucking rocket via the proper MSR ones like doesn't seem to be a problem in the cold I've never struggle with it before but this was like 50 please cheap support this was instead I'll have warm food by like tomorrow I think maybe the season it cook they won't get warm mate it's written start working so after much waiting around for like an hour worked out that my gas canister there is nothing wrong with it there was a blockage somewhere along the way so now just getting ready we've got some adventure food minced beef hot pot so I was pretty good actually there it is in there the things in the way the light how you doing Brian yeah so much doing it right I'm gonna put the camera down get my gloves on because it is actually freezing cold right a so called brian has like a snot dribble on the end of his nose right now even I like dribbling like crazy all right I'm gonna get some food okay folks it's pretty dark in here so I'm struggling with the light a little bit we both just got a bed I've made a hot water bottle using my klean kanteen and the socks that I've been wearing today so what that will do is it will keep my feet warm tonight and it will also dry a little bit of dampness out of the season bugs and sort of warm my my feet too so I haven't got a door tonight I'd show you I just try to show you this too dark because I'm just using like an open tarps that's often I've got this huge baby with should be absolutely fine i'm using whatever is down sleeping bags still going strong the thermarest so far is keeping me warm while set up so I'm loving that how are you doing Brian my back like a beetle trying to get my fucking serve over Brian's thermals were like frozen when you pull the one everything in my tent is like like literally freezing there's no frost on anything but soon as I move anything like ice disappears on it it's really bizarre are you getting that what when you move your stuff this freezing up now I got the signal hitting on a more motrin right so going to call it a night tonight for now it is about half-past eight so it's pretty early book will get an early start tomorrow and we just been trying to chat and keep ourselves entertained all night what we've sort of got sick of talking to each other really Brian's boring oh nothing mate so the ballroom right now Yeah Yeah right a wall ago up so we'll leave it there for the day so good night see you all in the morning
good morning folks pretty good night sleep long night sleep and it was quite cold fact it was very told even brain complain about some cold spots but we have just been woken up to this spectacular view from sunrise over the pasta near valley so brian has done off to try and find a photograph he's way off in the distance over there so I think she likes just called on I'm going to go up there and join him if you have got this amazing someone this really like this amazing hate pink but all the cells are basing turn pink still half-asleep and it's very very cold out here and so I think we're gonna head over there

instead when you're saying that dick is why we ensure that order for the way if you stopping to get this you have to take your pls more like you know you take a bit three o'clock in the morning film and it's totally work totally worthwhile don't absolutely soaked the welcome I have my car is a down there somewhere this little town that's bottom here and we're all the way up here far far away the rest of the world among Gimli we're getting on 30 campaign [Music]
come on stop making so we're just kind of fell down for a bit of a brood I'll we discuss didn't like some of the issues at hand last night I mean well the main issues last night was we were both really for you I didn't bowl of Norman kind of like you know I'm going to bed clip kind of thing one of the things that did me in last night was our SAT stop talking around camp obviously sad my boots on both of our feet were absolutely freezing cold like to the point worm before just forgetting to bed my toes it actually started to hurt because it was so cold we've been discussing way to keep the keep our feet warm when we're just around camp like up in the hills in the winter and about the only solution we can come up to is some of those like down slippers you can get like Rab do them observe house to them only on whether anybody's got any any alternative suggestion she's running anymore yeah cheaper alternative just tactics for keeping you for your feet warm where you're not obviously just take my boots off all the time I even now like you're sitting here like my feet are getting cold so it's tricky what you're going for your breakfast I am gone Sarah parish will complain breweries and some coffee what about you Peter I'm not having any breakfast yet on the southern should coffee and doing a little time lapse on the GoPro I feel good though we read like a good kind of solid night 8 for 24 hours sleep 24 24 hours sleep where you going Brian it's a Casey nicer inspire to travel it much as you'd like to jacket we're now just about to begin at the process of packing down which is I think my least favorite part of any outdoor trip I hate packing down but what you can see behind me I've got my sleeping bag oh now I was in a baby bag last night a hoot bivi bag Stiles breathing into it so they get a little bit damp and we'll try and combat that I think I've got a solution to problems like but it's really a sensitive user down by about this one you've got to try and get it out if you can because even if you've not been breathe into it it's going to get damp and if it's damp when I get in it tonight it's going to be much harder to warm it up so essential tips [Music]
