Kill Your Television
Description
Full article at http://rewildu.com/kill-your-television/. I hope that this video can inspire you, if you're a TV viewer, to consider, at least for a moment, what life might be like without TV. I know there are some educational programs that are probably worth viewing, but I've found that when people kick the TV habit, they suddenly find that they have TONS of things they want to learn, and to do with their family and friends. I truly believe that this is one of the most powerful decisions we can make in our lives, if we want to maximize our potential and really start enjoying life on a new level. If you have the courage to try it, I applaud you! If not, I understand. It's tough, because it's such an integral part of our culture. But I hope that this video can give you enough courage and curiosity to give it a try. Even just unplugging it for a month can be eye-opening . . .

okay I realize that my chances of getting you to actually kill your television are not very great but before you turn me off let me ask one question why am i making this video because I believe in you I believe in your ability to fulfill your potential as a human being I believe in your ability to live a life of joy and adventure that inspires everybody around you I believe you have the right to wake up every morning excited about the day to come with a clear mind with a strong body and I believe the television in media in general can profoundly impact our ability to maximize our physical emotional and mental potential as human beings I'm not actually trying to say that TV is evil there are probably some worthwhile programs but the way many of us use TV or more precisely are used by TV it becomes an addiction flooding us with stimuli that affect how our brain works under the influence the world around us can begin to look dull our lives can begin to look dull here's the thing we've been led to believe that our lives will be better if we earn more money or collect more toys but the truth is it is our state of mind that has the highest impact on the quality of our lives
our state of mind is the best investment we can make in every moment we're training ourselves into a new state of mind everything we hear everything we say everything we see in how we interpret those things these all shape our state of mind your birthright is to a state of mind that is joyful adventurous free of fear stress and frustration but when we watch TV we're letting other people train on lines and they are training our minds to lust after drama which is why our relationships suffer their training our minds to seek out the negative which is why many of us feel a darkness of mood for training our minds to equate ourself work with our physical appearance with how much money we have with what car we drive which is why so many of us suffer from low self-esteem finally TV trains our minds to be unfastening state of stress and anxiety it's useful for us to have this stress insecurity troubled relationships in ill health
because then advertisers can sell us more cars more prescription drugs more iPads more self-help and diet books can you see the trap our minds are conditioned by TV in our negative mind state fills our lives with troubles advertisers sell us things to fix our troubles convincing us that they're making our lives better so we continue to watch TV create that negative mind state and then look to the advertisers to fix us in this way we all become willing servants working at jobs almost every day to earn enough money to keep buying these things that will keep the trap functioning but we're smarter than this
we don't have to give ourselves away we can break free just turn off the TV become conscious of how we train our minds in every moment and realize that you can reclaim your birthright to a mind state that wakes up every morning excited about the day to come confident and stress-free spreading compassion love and inspiration with your every action the real world is incredible every expression on a friend's child or loved ones face is like a snowflake never to be experienced again and every one of us is an active creative force in making our culture our every action every word every choice becomes part of this story that we're all writing together let's make this story epic a story of inspiration adventure and compassion in this story you are the hero if someone could sit down and read your story today but they read about you sitting on the couch staring at a screen for hours what would they read about an amazing adventure or if someone who can find the wonder every moment of life or someone who reached out and touched the lives of others you have the ability to inspire all of us and I for one I'm excited to see what you're capable of when we give up our TV addiction our lives change suddenly we have more time a lot more time
to start doing things like spending time with our family and our friends exercising strengthening our body practicing meditation or awareness strengthening our minds getting out for adventures learning new skills discovering your passions making them a strong part of your life because if you are unleashed the world better watch out you are amazing you have the ability to change the world first by fulfilling your full potential and then by inspiring everybody around you when they see you living your life so fully so completely write me leave comments and if you do reduce your television consumption or if you actually kill your TV let us know in the comments your actions will inspire all of us thanks for watching
you
