The Sugar Challenge

Description

Numerous studies are suggesting that sugar is as addictive (or more addictive) than cocaine. Will you take the sugar challenge, living for one or three days with no sugar, and let us know what you experience? Please let us know if you experienced cravings, if it felt like an addiction, and if you noted withdrawal symptoms. It would be especially interesting to hear from people who have been addicted to drugs or alcohol. Does going off of sugar feel similar?

hi everyone I've been checking out some research lately about sugar and a lot of this research is claiming that sugar is asthma as addictive or more addictive than heroin and cocaine and some really interesting studies where rats have chosen sugar over hits of heroin looking at where what regions of the brain are activated when we intake sugar and of course the concept is that so many of us are battling with with obesity with diabetes with other inflammatory diseases and that in a way it's not it's not our fault it's not because you have weak willpower it's because this sugar is so so addictive now I love to pan through through scientific studies but I thought it would be interesting if we did our own anecdotal study to see whether we feel the trigger is really as addictive as they're saying it is and my concept is that that we take a challenge and there's two choices here if you want to participate one is a one-day challenge yeah there's a three day challenge whichever one you choose the key is during that full day or during that full three days do not eat any sugar so make sure you read the labels because if you're eating bread that probably is full of sugar and and realize that you don't just look for sugar you have to look for fructose high fructose corn syrup oh I'm going brain dead but if you google it you'll find that there's there's tons of different actually why don't I just give us a list here

you

okay so as you saw a lot of names for sugar that can be hidden in the ingredient list so for the sake of this exercise let's also not have honey or maple syrup or any natural sweeteners and even try to stay away from dried fruits like raisins dried mango these things that also have a really high sugar content and so then in the comments let us know what you experienced was it easy no problem at all did you feel cravings could you do it could you make it through the day or through the three days I would especially love to hear from people who have a history of alcoholism or drug addiction or currently our alcoholic or drug addicted does it feel the same as as the experience of of craving that alcohol or that drug and when you refrain from it does it feel the same as the times when you have backed off and abstain from alcohol or drugs for a period of time so do you notice withdrawal symptoms just really report your experience and what happens so I think this would be a great way to set those scientific studies aside for a little lot for just a moment and see from all of us everyday people is sugar as addictive as they're saying what does it feel like to go off of it thanks for participating I cannot wait to hear about some of your experiences
