How To Deal With Mosquitoes (Without Repellent)
Description
This isn't about DEET or protective clothing or how to run so fast that the bugs can't catch you =) It's about a mindstate that makes mosquitoes less annoying (and all other "annoyances" of life as well), and many say actually reduces the number of bugs that attack you.

all right hello everybody greetings this one is for Canadian prepper and he asked me well in one of his videos the reference like what would captain do about these mosquitoes in these horse flies and I've been wanting actually for a couple years to do a good video on mosquitoes but it's I haven't had enough mosquitoes I've got some bugs here who are in the process of finding their way through mosquitoes and how it feels for them and so I just thought this would be a great time to to talk about it the the key for me and you know you've heard me talk about this and a lot of my videos is non-resistance and i need to create a really good word for this that's gonna do this the other night and haven't come up with it yet it's you know in the English language we're missing a lot of words for some some important concepts and this concept is the one that shows us that there is in the world whatever it is whether it's cold or our pain or the mosquitoes there is an actual sensation that's happening and then there is a mental projection that I put on to it so what happens is the mosquitoes attack and start to bite and okay I'm just gonna come around and see some of these guys yeah - even mosquitoes are just so you can see out here looking them off so here there is there's this this physical sensation and if we just experience that physical sensation it is usually not what we think it is the cold is probably the first place I experience this laying back in the snow and realizing oh my gosh get me out of here oh and and then at some point stopping and in just feeling the sensation and it was intense
but it's not as intense as my mind is making it out to be because again the physical sensation and then the mental overlay not resistance says get me out of here just uh this is horrible and that is actually the pain that I experienced and so with the mosquitoes I can I can feel the sensation and if I really feel it there's not that much going on there's little pricks it's kind of an itching sensation but it's not that intense now I put my are you doing you feel like you just feel this automatically my leg you like tingle up like this yeah without even being consciously
it's so so there we go we've got it but now see if you can turn it on he'll help much of interest like like tune into yeah tune in resist it feel like I just ah and then try not to scratch and for me or like I can make this super intense like I almost cannot stop myself and scratching it or my mind can just go away from it and now granted horse flies and deer flies are more difficult because they have a higher degree of pain but no matter what it is in our life we have the ability to do this and you are noticing we're doing some super physical stuff just a little while ago yeah no mosquito perception they're still having the tree or playing tag even those yeah engaged in the game right and so that you know that's proof positive there that our mind can do this it it just needs to learn to not resist and it seems strange that there's strength and non resistance but but there it is and so I think the first step if you want to try to harness this for yourself he's trying to find something that's that's right on your edge you know a thing I've used with a lot of forest monks in the winter is walking barefoot in the snow and it's not bad if it's fluffy snow and you know kind of gets up on your toes and then you step inside into a warm place then all of a sudden it melts on you and you start to feel this very intense sensation and I've had a lot of people that are throwing out a lot of cuss words and just like ah but if they can stop and just suddenly sense it and feel it there's just this sensation
you guys have no I mean you were wearing a little repellent saucing but it hasn't really done anything obviously and so you guys have been going completely free of it
right so they don't have anything none of us have any repellant on right now remembering a couple other things about some of these animals the mosquitoes are they're attracted to this right and they're attracted to the panic that I put out so I'm releasing that co2 and I'm attracting them in from calm and meditative I'm accepting that sensation then it's it's just not as bad this is that non-resistance and this is not just mosquitoes this is everything in life it's in the mental emotional realm again with pain next time you feel frustration or you want to snap at somebody all of these things are like a mosquito bite there's a sensation and it wants to drive you wants to give your mind attention and then that tension is gonna create ah
an anger frustration pushing away that is the pain I think the Buddhists talk about two arrows have you guys ever heard this I think I read that yeah so it's kind of like there's the first arrow and then it's painful so you know this stuff does hurt but then our mind puts a second arrow of pain into that and that's when it doubles up and it's twice as bad as it was so so try this out with something in your life it doesn't have to be mosquitoes it can be again like frustration is a great place to do it
if you feel tomorrow like you want to kind of snap at somebody stop feel that and just see if you can feel what is the actual sensation of wanting to snap at somebody what do you actually feel in your body and in your mind you may be surprised to find that that sensation is quite small the mental construct that we're putting on over it yeah that is what wants to drive us to do things often that that we don't want to do thank you for watching everybody these are probably fun comments as you talk about how to get rid of mosquitoes you've transformed just in this because five minutes I feel like before we do this video you were in a different place because I sucked all the blood and flew away yeah maybe we fed them all so yeah so share in the comments what what you do about mosquitoes if any of this makes sense if you've explored non-resistance and can't wait to read and hear your wisdom for that's just uh that one just eats my dead skin so it's not a biter it just tickles all right take care there's a couple little perspective tricks to that you can try out especially if you are compassionate or ecologically minded person so the first one I use is to think of these mosquitoes as like little Buddhas they I mean okay through malaria which isn't really their fault they kill a lot of people but in their in their basic way of living they are just taking the tiniest little teeny drop of blood for their sustenance every time I have to eat I you know every day I kill plants every day I kill animals killing all the time in order to eat with mosquitoes they take the tiniest little drop of blood that is too small for me even to notice and that's all they ask the second thing that I use sometimes is to imagine that in a way when this little girl here is gonna take my drop of blood she's gonna she's gonna fly off with it and probably she's gonna be predated so what's gonna happen is she's gonna go over to a swamp she's gonna land and a fraud is gonna get her and so then in a very real way my physical substance has become mosquito and then it becomes frog if you can imagine that frog then is eaten by a fish then my physical substance becomes fish and then if that fish is taken by an eagle or an osprey my physical substance becomes eagle or Osprey so in a strange way in a very real way every time mosquito leaves with a little drop of your blood it is taking you out into the ecosystem and you are becoming part of that whole food chain not sure if that really reduces the pain or discomfort but if you have that that mindset maybe a will [Music]
