Using your pants to start a fire =) (charcloth trick)

Description

This special charcloth trick can help catch a spark when you don't have standard charcloth available. Here I use the tie on my pants to start a fire using this method.

tell my friends I'll just start the evening fire to cook with I thought I'd show you kind of a cool little trick so this is gonna be assisted because I have Thai fishing pants on they have these long straps but you might be able to pull this off with you know the bottom of some pants or the edge of a shirt it just has to be cotton I mean in some kind of a natural material I'm gonna use this little invention made by a friend of mine it's basically a lighter a little bit stronger but you can pull this off with a lighter with a firesteel here's the thing look up close you're gonna see that when I try to spark some cotton there's not a lot that happens even if I can get a little bit of a spark to take it doesn't go anywhere well there's some magic if I take some gray ash and I'm gonna really mix that in to my cloth to my cotton okay now watch what happens stay camera what happened this is this turns into char cloth see that it's taking a coal and it's continuing to go and that really won't happen when I didn't add that Ash I'm gonna set this in here

get my tinder bundle go and pull this out at this point and extinguish it ouch it's really gun okay so it didn't lose too much that I've got my tinder bundle going

and so here's how much of the end of that this is where it was and I damaged to start that fire and again I could have done that without some of that that ash that gray ash but that made all the difference

turned it from regular cloth that wasn't going to do much of anything into a viable char cloth just by adding that ash pretty magical pretty cool and might come in useful at some point alright tell me if you try it out and talk with you suit
