there are the other seasons the hot buzzing whirlwind of summer the Solem tranquility of autumn falling leaves the long dark silence of winter there are the seasons that don't completely change your outlook on the world and then there spring

it was in the early evening when we left for West Virginia to go camping at New River Gorge

[Music]

we arrived in West Virginia and stay tonight at a hotel so that we could get started on our adventure bright and early the next day [Music]

the brisk morning air invigorated us as we packed our bags and headed out it was a beautiful spring day the flowers were just coming out and all the trees were speckled with leafy freshly emerged Lee [Applause]

[Music]

New River gorges best known for its thrilling whitewater rafting but there are also a variety of hiking trails throughout the area and today we were backpacking the Glade Creek Trail

[Music]

we arrived at the parking area and got all of our food and gear ready at the trailhead were signs of an old ghost town called Hamlet and there was also ground ivy an edible plant in the mint family and with that it was time to set off

we checked the map and reviewed our plan we would be hiking south on the Glade Creek Trail camping somewhere along the way tonight tomorrow we would continue hiking until we reach Kate's falls before camping nearby and heading back north

just down the trail with the beech tree whose leaves will soon be ready to eat and just next to it this is a American bachelor door a linden tree this is the perfect time to eat believe you can actually plug these off in eat them just like any sort of salad green and I've had them before they kind of taste like edamame but if you're ever in the wild and you want to make yourself like good night organic salads that doesn't cost like seven dollars for one ounce the spring in full force there were a plethora of wildflowers popping up from the ground there's just so much out here it's kind of overwhelming but down here we've got wild violet this is a white variety over here there's a wild flowers called squirrel corn we've got a really pretty looking flower and if you've ever seen like a bleeding-heart that's sort of a Japanese flower that's related to this that a lot of people grow on their yards but this is native and here we've got these leaves that sort of have like a Rorschach pattern on them in this water leaf and when it looks like that it's actually edible

now over here we've got really pretty sort of lavender colored flower a wild blue flock and back here we have the very precious Trillium it's like a perfect 3 pointed flower I love it oh and over here just growing all over the ground is chickweed which you can actually find in long sometimes but differs edible kind of like a nice addition to your salad so we're also wild roses lark Spurs and portfolio at Belle worth the colorful flower is added to the spring fever that we were all feeling finally in nature's playground again I'm excited about it I've been almost a year and that's entirely too long stay away it's like our first official spring trip of the year feels like a little weather and the greenery stuff

something to celebrate and further up there were even more plant that caught androids attention down here in the ground we've got some leaves with like a little purple pattern on them that I believe it's Virginia not we and then over here we've got a bunch of May apples growing everywhere in early fall late summer the girl fruit that's like a yellow sort of ball and when it's ripe it tastes delicious it's like a passion fruit then over here we have a spring beauty which is a really common flower that you see this time of year really pretty and edible besides stopping for wildflowers we also frequently stopped to check out Glade Creek which ran adjacent in Israel [Music]

with the warm Sun and clear skies he's the perfect time to play in the water we also had these granola snacks at Emma from frontier bites into us and on the back of the snack back to reality not tried these yet so this is a first time Angela's going to come over to our country

I do too yeah Texas knife the fuck across we claim a rice cake and a granola bar

after our snack we were back on the trail it was our first trip back out during the warm season with the buzz of spring filling our heads we were soon drawn back to the allure of the creek here there was a mighty cascade at a trail leading to a great swimming hole [Music]

so nerve-wracking every single time like I've done it multiple times not every time I look at that water mic I don't know about this [Music]

we return to the trail filled with a sense of awe at the river and the surrounding ecosystem the spring vibrancy of nature and its unfettered state comes to the fore point all of the paradoxical organized chaos of the ecosystem swirls about effortlessly this time of year insects get nourishment for flowers and in turn perpetuate species like this Dutchman's breeches wild geranium and wild ginger whose roots have been used as medicine and a spice but even on its surface it's not hard to see why spring is the most beloved season just when the dreariness of winter is getting to be too much the forest blooms into an array of brilliant colors

we kept walking and found some old metal cable that had been left behind for planning and you bring in metal cable for camping hello heavy doesn't need the weight requirement with our curiosity piqued we decided to head towards the stream once again on the way their boulders littered the ground some of which were losing whoa holy let's clean enough we got to the bank of the stream Wow right wow this reminds me of Rivendell from Lord of the Rings especially that like that whole scene right there great here a waterfall fed into the stream which weaved its way between smooth stones jutting out from beneath the water's surface [Music]

the sounds of the stream in the encroaching evening light put us into a meditative mood although we hadn't hiked too far you're hoping to find a spot to set up camp soon we've had a very slow pace to it looking for just finding it can't play somewhere think we can find one in the next hour so should be good seems like there are a lot of really good ones on the other side of the river which is really weird I'm sure we'll find anything I'm curious about like it's over the ridge here yeah did that yeah climb spot it's good seems like what kind of gearing away to from the river we might have a little bit more space to work with Robby decided to test his luck and check on top of the ridge for a campsite see let me see if I can camouflage way to Rocky okay and so the search continued

further up Nicole and I decided to check a flat raised area just off the trail where campsite Nicole - hunts percent over the trades and then I decided to join it he played we found a really good blood you guys are flying this say we can't use that's all you're going up a flick I might as well take a look good work great work oh my goodness yeah got feeling the campsite was a perfect flat area it was raised up off of the trail providing some nice privacy and the woods were just open enough to feel spacious get cozy it was looking to be a cool and comfortable night with plenty of space we each set up our own shelter for the night

and afterwards I looked around camp and saw even more beautiful wildflowers surround this campsite we've got a bunch of other wildflowers including this really pretty one called ruin M&E we've got some other so I'm going to go take a look so down here we've actually got a patch of goldenseal which is a medicinal herb that is pretty highly sought out actually some people will Forge for it so they can sell it it's not quite as valuable as something like ginseng but it's still something people like to look around for there were also common violets great spurred violets and yellow violet all edible I started cleaning out the fire pit which unfortunately had a bit of litter left in it while clearing away the leaves both inside and around the pit and saw more of the aforementioned wild flowers it's not one of these yellow violets in our fire pit and we're going to try them out the only reason we're trying this I should note is because they were in the middle of the fire pit and would inevitably have been burnt to a crisp spill might as well get some nutrition out of it some people use like some of the purple violets to make like purple honey my mom would actually candy them when I was a kid we would dry them and put sugar on them or like put them in ice cubes for like nice party or go mmm not a whole lot of flavor but hey it's like salad it's one of those artisanal salads the flowers were just the appetizer before dinner but before cooking up supper we decided to fill up on water

and Nicole tried a bit of fishing although the dense tree branches everywhere made it a bit difficult oh my god that was close Andrew you almost got bean right in the head with that me : all going a lot smoother than Yellowstone she ended up not catching anything but with fishing sitting around and relaxing it's half the fun meanwhile back at camp I was reading my sleeping gear I've got this brand-new sleeping bag and very excited to change I'm also very excited we used [Music]

we got in touch with Jason from outdoor vitals and his story was pretty interesting he was backpacking in college he had a choice between getting the really cheap stuff or getting the really expensive stuff so if you wanted to find a way to make products that are reasonable enough in price that people can actually afford them so they sent us this summit zero degree sleeping bag to try out this is a down sleeping bag it's about three pounds and that's actually half the weight of the sleeping bag I've been using so tonight is going to be a test it's not the coldest night but my body will know my body's already ready Wow I look like a nice and fluffy one well I will report back in the morning how this went but if we're convinced so far and then it was time to prepare the fire for the evening so we've got a bunch of this to a poplar bark and it's really stringy really fibrous it's perfect tinder once you actually like process it into a fluffier material okay the process tulip poplar bark was perfect for catching a spark Robbi noticed me smirking at how that is finally easy it was to get tonight's fire guys

and then it was time to prepare dinner on today's menus were Nicole's classic hobo dinners

in each decadent oil pouch with some butter sausage corn potatoes and green beans as she continued preparing the meals we all enjoyed relaxing as we watch the stars come out and the embers of the fire dance wildly in there it's in moments like these that we connect with our most fundamental state now remember to let go and relax a little bit to go about life effortlessly the campfire had cooked our meals perfectly and now it was time to dig in ready laughing hopeful there's something so satisfying about something so simple hmm I knew I was hungry but well done baby thank you you okay well we'll be leftovers good wrap yes yeah I'm sure you are definitely they want some history dude that we can't see it's really good

oh my god only goes good as we read book no but it look so solid I'm totally ready for this you melted cheesy kidding me yeah tell me what you think of the sausages this is vegetarian this is actually really good sausage if it's great to have a big hot meal I'm gonna be able to go to sleep right after uh yeah guys would like should always be like yeah I mean you know maybe there's a lesson to be learned here in the sense that like we should try more intensely to do that like just immediately yeah I'm with you man that was probably one of my favorite parts when I lived in France the shortest dinner I ever ate while I was there was 45 minutes long the longest was three and a half hours people make fun of the French for like relaxing too much but would you rather have a society that emphasizes human enjoyment of life or immoral for work yeah beneath the Stars in the tall poplar trees this mindset of relaxation comes easily

fresh air is a glowing fire strip you of society strapping returning you to at least temporarily a more primordial state it's a state where wealth and Vigo have no bearing and you remember all at once the ease with which humans can fulfill both their needs and the needs of others

anyway I started doing up just from the smell of it so I bought this little tea strainer because I really like loose leaf tea but I'm going to be really honest I bought it with the intention of bringing in backpacking but it's just like this really really small hold mesh cup and then you just set it on top of your villa can and the strainer worked really well now it's time to taste our cup of dirt well that's that's strong is this black as your shirt holy mama oh my goodness oh this again got it we pour it in the rest of that water Oh perfect Robbie you go to brains but the power of one now the watery but you know I don't care I'm in care probably should have read the mission run away with you now we can make this perfect now we put it back in off there oh well we're back you know it's going to be the perfect client paper there is okay I can already tell my eyes are open the writer good call perfect cup of coffee we enjoyed the morning atmosphere and soon enough Andrew was also awake and the coffee was apparently so good it inspired us to speak in different languages

ha ha ha ha huh I don't know letting the derchi look the one ha I love it and it's just like leave me alone I drink Michigan

all perked up from the coffee Nicole decided to start a fire and prepare an extravagant breakfast for the morning and it wouldn't be a proper extravagant breakfast just that an extravagant log cabin campfire [Music]

with the fire going we warmed up on the coal prepared some cotton scraps to make char cloth

then it was time for breakfast and miraculously not a single one of our eggs was cracked oh my god on the menu was a hollowed-out potato filled with breakfast food surely the creation of a mad culinary scientist this is working way better than I anticipated it would which is good because now we're going to be able to do the initial idea plus it looks like we're going to have some good hash brown material with a spuds hollowed out it was time to fill them with an egg some cheddar cheese salt and pepper to taste and ground sausage while those cooked it was my turn to brew up some coffee using my solo stick this is a feel cube provided by John Truitt I thought it might be interesting to try and use it as a source of fuel for my solo stuff and see if I can get a pot of water boiling no can catch Oh

supposed to burn really hot according to the packaging from a granted I only use enough water for one cup of coffee maybe a little bit more but great boiling and it's still burning so pretty good a bit of sweet cinnamon thrown in and you've got yourself a nice morning group it's really hot it's really good and then breakfast time how often is that it's like cooked perfectly time to feast on those delicious monstrosity do you guys want extra cheese on it much was that good so that was a good idea the person this is gonna meet a name Oh God Oh bug bug preliminary findings on this sleeping bag and our stomachs were full but we fought the post food sluggishness and now packed up but tearing down our cabin was a good opportunity to digest our food and get ready for the day's hype the heavy meal had left us thirsty so before we left to grab some water from the stream finished packing then set out on our way

all around us the woods teem with life cup fungi and Trillium sprouted from the ground and beyond the trail the creeks bubbled in churned bring life devoid [Music]

explode uninhibited effortlessly carving a path from the earth [Music]

further we hiked the more we felt as though we had become part of the wilderness It was as though we were part of the fauna flora that surrounded this I believe is a Hartley phloem flower or at least some sort of foam flower this over here is the leaf of a flower called cuddly tooth work and this isn't the mustard family if you eat it it actually has sort of like a light wasabi paste and there's the sort of waxy looking modelled leaves down here that belong to trout lilies the whole thing is edible you meet the bulb or the leaf and it grows a really pretty flower a result of fall Solomon seal and garden [Music]

up ahead on the trail pink and blue flocks created a colorful display it's like nature's tie-dye party or something that's what I wish like our yard could look like at home wildflowers instead of just grass people just let them grow it's always been kind of odd to us how much effort goes into maintaining lawns barren fields of a single plant that has seemingly no utilitarian or ecological benefit if we were to just let go once in a while we could effortlessly grow gardens of edible and medicinal wildflowers you might not get wood Bettany flowers like this growing but the bees would still come to pollinate wild violets ground ivy dandelion and more speaking of which further up the trail we saw more wild flowers like this gallium a Perrine an edible puttered over here this like black steel looking leaf with a really cool shape is called to Pataca and then this beautiful beautiful leaf belonged to a bloodroot actually you can see there was a flower here but it looks like it's ready to turn to a seedpod but it's called bloodroot because if you dig up the root and you cut it it kind of bleeds this really dark red color it has medicinal uses one of which actually I've heard is like removing wart but that might just be an old folk remedy [Music]

as we hiked we saw a bluff running along the creek and decided to take a closer look

and nearby or these lumpy bracket polyfill decomposing Deadwood and returning it to the soil from which plants like the Sullivan field can emerge eventually we continued on crossing a bridge that took us to the other side of Creek [Music]

the stream continued running adjacent to the trail and we could hear it flowing as we hiked the wild left and right is the few yards from the trail like a watchful Guardian looking over it [Music]

from the soil jack and the pulp is emerged and on the rocks crew a native succulent of woodland stump and nearby a garter snake relaxed atop a soft bed of moss we continued on getting closer to Kate's Falls before looking for a campsite we decided to stop and have a sentence so this right here is from our buddy Tim Lawson this is actually a smoothie that you can make right in this pouch and it's very very jump start fruit smoothie flavor all you have to do is just put the water in fact then advocating it shake vigorously somehow it turns into a smoothie [Applause]

well that seems very good [Applause]

ten out of ten yeah I would drink that it would be really good cold but it's fine warm

you know it kind of tastes like have you ever had those uh like strawberry milk when you were in grade school yeah I do the safe like that or like a leftover cereal milk

it tastes like um the first thing I thought of was somebody took rounded up Smarties and dumped it in the water yeah [Applause]

hmm yeah I'm actually I'm more on the brine side it's got the kind of artificial flavor and what the strong pink flavor that's not bad after downing our pink flavored smoothie we continued on the trail pretty soon we came upon a great open meadow with plenty of space and a nice fire ring and a set of strange wooden totem perhaps the hiding place of a forest spirit that was kind of like two eyes

for spirits or not we set up our tents and packed away most of our bags for a hike to the falls we would only be taking a few essentials in our day packs first-aid emergency GPS headlamps some water

before heading out we quickly scouted out the bank of the stream near our campsite this is like the perfect water filling spot and then we made our way to the falls with the load off our backs our leisurely hike became even more leisurely on the hillside were some rocky outcrops that resembled faces and Andrew Fontes and other things on the hills as well so I spotted some nice flowers on the hillside over here we've got some hepaticus which are flowering and up here this really brilliant yellow flower this is called golden grounds though and actually earlier in the season when it's like late fall or winter you'll see the basal rosette of the leaves and on the other side they're purple instead of green right now the leaves are all green and the flowers are coming out and then over here we've got this really beautiful looking a scarlet Columbine flower it's just got such a unique shape and it's so brilliant and there are actually some varieties that are like purplish blue but those are cultivated varieties that people use in the gardens but this one is wild and native and on the other side of the trail I found a very underrated mushroom pumping out of the lock so we spotted some of these dry at saddle mushrooms this is really common mushroom to see in spring although it actually grows year round these ones are just sort of buttoning but usually they can grow really big like even this size another name for them it's pheasant back which once you see the pattern on the cap you'll understand why and these are in fact edible so I'm just going to collect a few and usually these have a smell and yeah you can smell it right now and I'll have the others test out and see if they can guess what it smells like now I should mention that a foraging for mushrooms is allowed in most parks and forests and when you're cutting the mushroom you're not actually killing any part of the organism the mushrooms are kind of akin to a fruit that grows on a tree or a bush and all of the organism is growing throughout this log so and these will come right back I guess will cook these up tonight now it's time to show the others see what they thought okay away you guys the smell listen tell me what you think it's a nobly don't look up fruit oh my got a snow big watermelon right yeah water yeah oh my god yep yep well I want to heat it yeah yeah yeah no just like the white part of water yeah yeah it's got that like sort of bitterness but still discreet yeah very fragrant

I like that smell good also growing in the area where lots of horse's hoof fungi and further in the distance we saw the Phil G McDonald bridge spanning across the gorge created by Glade Creek we filled up on water at a stream crossing before continuing on to Kate's Falls got something up here is it I thought we were not further away than that how much further from here to do like this worth point a mile yeah it's supposed to be bigger as though yep it's supposed to be really far uphill we climb mossy stone steps and passed by huge trees almost feeling as though we are climbing up to an ancient monastery it was actually fairly short and simple lightly but the plate of the falls at the end was no less rewarding [Music]

everywhere opting for the full experience Nicole wanted to actually get underneath the waterfall I'm certain

we didn't give it a go you having a my after are you nope the slick rocks were tough to walk up the freezing cold water pulled no punches as it pelted you from above ah

mic off water ride that they don't want people to go back as I have you ever been door waterfall no one that big I was under a couple in Italy but nothing like that at night it was great to see the Falls even just sitting near it Dobis with renewed energy [Music]

no gold I'm certain parks are very cold but I'm ready for a nice cozy fire some dry clothes and some great food okay I can't be 100% certain but I think this is a more el Andrews coming down right now hopefully he'll be all that identified he is going to flip his lid stand right there you stand right there Andrew you come here what is that Oh [Laughter]

worlds are one of the most sought-after edible mushrooms they come up usually in like early April and people just hunt these and they fill her life seemed like a Kadhim for 16 bucks I've seen some that get like this big no joke yeah and we found them I want but never like that big there's all sorts of different yeah there's like black morels the yellow one man I should mention that Morell's usually grow up in the same area so um there's a bunch of mycelium down here and most likely we need to see one you'll see others or there'll be more sprouting up later in the season I think we're going to [Music]

we also saw that Scarlett cut mushroom nearby then it was back to the campsite to start the fire and sear the fungi while I prepared the tinder the coal ready the fire pit with a nice platform of love and with all the Huns i we found it was only appropriate to start the fire with the fungus horse's hoof fungus with theme as many times but we've never actually tried to use this for tinder all the stuff inside that you want to brown stuff that Center that's hard layer and the brown stuff is called Amadou and that's like really good for catching a spark well and way easier than I anticipated you see all this grass stuff between these tubes and the hard layer the brown stuff is like the stuff that we really want anything you might be able to use the tubes to them we both wanted it on the part which is why would you cut it attack really hard how do later yeah I didn't I'd break I'm trying to fluff some of the stuff to look deep in any of the caches so oh shoot nope

get that I'm very good at them we just kept getting pieces of the vomit views glowing and finally got a good one transferred to the bundle but unfortunately it went out before the bundle ignited so we were back at eventually Nicole got our whole piece glowing hot with an ember so we moved it to the tinder bundle you can like break that up into this one day just like scrapes on that part something that I've got oh

every time you scrape it away it just blows away when I blow it off if I'm not doing that

I'm thinking like we got to pick the whole bundle up and wrap it in it's like we got the large chunk into the bundle and each took turns blowing on [Applause]

watching seniors holy crap whoa Brian put this battery once we had the flame going we quickly added our Kingdra and then it was time to celebrate

oh yeah that is so satisfying ha ha ha ha oh man Oh baby Wow God high five yeah it was but honestly we were both probably getting way too light and we're just doing single blows there's no choice cuz I'm so lightheaded still man that is awesome that is way off it was a sweet sweet victory and that evening became dusk and dust became night we were all the more thankful to have gotten the fire started

it's been a fantastically fungal day I'm going to cook the driest a delay sound with a little bit of butter just so we can taste the actual mushroom itself after that we'll cook that Maurel and give that a try too if you find a bigger drive saddle a lot of times the most tender part of it will be around the edge of the mushroom and some of the stuff that's like closer to the stem is going to be a bit tougher and people also suggest that that you cut the poor surface off before you cook it but I actually think it's kind of fine with it in fact I kind of prefer the texture of the poor surface we've really only got enough for like a sampler so this will act as our appetizer for tonight's main course butter nice and dizzily got to coat it in some butter too so I'm thinking the pretty close to finish very fragrant smelling seems to be working up a nice crisp so now it's time to taste stuff but just before that it started raining and we scrambled to set up our shelters and put away our things and just as we finished setting up the rain died down and we back to the fire so the dried petals have been cooked in butter Bon Appetit so me and Andrew have actually how do you before and I feel like sometimes you cook the watermelon takes out which is actually I prefer it that way but if there are sort of very tiny bit there okay so the Triads metal has been more traditional mushroom texture yeah but you play bell and they just kind of come apart what it takes for mushroom me than I anticipated I figured it would have more of that watermelon cucumber he pays you but it very much tastes like a mushroom that would be really good on kebab that's really all I'm thinking about is like some green pepper red pepper steak now the classic question would you buy it x2 per market yeah would ya actually definitely if are getting mushrooms my favorite and it's like it's pretty bountiful actually yeah the next question we're going to try not it sounds cool

Robby spotted this beautiful tiny little more L a delicacy in the park there's actually multiple types of morels there's black yellow gray it looks like a yellow one yeah actually this might be a gray one I'm not sure yeah kind of tan like Thomas's pants but we'll give it a try so this is going to be like a tiny tiny tiny morsel you can see how it's one single hollow chamber and a stem connects to the rest of the mushroom here and it doesn't like hang over anything and when you have one single hollow chamber like that that's how you know it the more L for sure very butter either it's not appreciably different I disagree it tastes less like a mushroom this is going to sound so stupid but it kind of tastes like chicken it was good though I would eat them yeah I still I want to know if it actually is up to the hype or if it's just hyped up I mean either way I've always considered mushroom something where it's like more fun to look for them to vision oh yeah after Nicole and Robby sampled the morale for the first time we broke into some ramen noodles which our friend Scott Conant provided us

that's three trips in a row we've had ramen but it's delicious and with the vacuum sealed packaging these were even more convenient than traditional cup noodles so this ramen I have is seafood ramen at being pieces of something that resembles seafood really good not going to be ladylike that's awesome this one change your life this is life-changing ramen right here we got my makeshift chopsticks here are not to get a smile on your face when you're eating

we finished our food and the rest of the night was spent relaxing at the fire cracking jokes and enjoying the stars there's something about spring that the folks are feeling a rope maybe it's stayin all the colorful flowers I found great winter or maybe it's old an animal that starts buzzing about whatever the reason springtime always seems to change your outlook on life suddenly everything seems brighter and you realize that the world isn't out to get you with Springs the universe feels like a benevolent force once again [Music]

nice - nice little meg fantastic only problem is I'm so warm and comfortable I'm having a hard time getting up there's no better remedy to wake oneself up then of course coffee [Music]

we sipped on the cup and felt energy returning to our body [Music]

before long everybody was up we filled up on water then got ready for breakfast [Music]

with the fire going it was time to have a nice morning picnic first up were some eggs cooked in butter lightly seasoned with pepper and scrambled after tossing in some cheese we toasted bread over the fire using a stick which gave the toast some seductive tanlines now time for our pleasant spring picnic okay poppy or something coffee boom got one we're gonna have a narrative in there man I forgot my spatula

a lovely picnic after the wonderful toast an egg we cleaned up and put away our food desert or campfire with water and got ready to hike out and a little bit up the trail I found an edible plant that we could actually pick and eat

we found some garlic mustard which is the highly invasive plant it's actually really destructive for the environment so whenever you see these was actually preferable that you pull them up and make sure they don't repeat or grow and the plus side is that these are actually completely edible when these do have seed pods growing already though you don't want to just pull them up and drop them because then the feed lot you come out but it's so early right now we can just like pull them up and talking it's probably got a garlic in mustard taste but yeah really bitter application yeah super bitter options it's almost like eating hot dogs mustard yeah this would be really good flavoring in a soup though yeah or with like some salad dressing on top always bitter yeah Oh spring whether you're eating tender plants that have just emerged listening to the songs of birds high above or enjoying the sight of wild flowers swaying in the breeze there's no doubting that spring the myths a palpable feeling of hope and benevolent

it puts to ease any existential fears we might hold when the spring season comes it comes bearing a reminder that yes the universe is a benevolent force and that includes up without the baggage of modern civilization we can see that in the world around us and within our own self there is benevolent maybe that's why so many hunter-gathering society from the Inuit to the Sun view the environment the spirit world the universe and the generous and giving provider maybe that's why philosophers like benches for so insisted that human nature was fundamentally good spring embodies what now is called awake the state of effortless action what would happen if we let human be as free as a flowing river or as unrestricted at the wind [Music]

some might say that humans without any legal structures or rigid social mores would exploit each other in the land they might point to the ecological destruction wrought by unregulated company for the violence waged by people all across the world but these aren't the result of people left free to do as they please they're the result of people still bound by the shackles profit and pride spring planting a seed of hope hope that benevolence is the force driving area the hope that the moral arc of the universe does indeed then towards justice I hope that deep within humans flow towards compassion and love as effortlessly at the winding river [Music]

there's the side of the world that leaves us feeling apathetic hopeless and lonely and then there's spring

pizza and beer after a hike come on son that's heaven right there oh man that's good that's really good I don't normally like beers my color oh my god you just so smooth right at together try it oh wow it's like a creamer so I'm just yeah Wow I don't like most butadiene that does say smoothing cream [Music]
