Hello my name is Lilly and I am making videos about primitive living skills, survival, bushcraft, camping gear and prepping. I consider myself being a modern hunter-gatherer who wants to live as close as possible with mother nature and right now I am in the process of learning how to live off the land and thrive in the wilderness. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

today I was just counting around with my bike and I just found this spot here which is full with burdock and burdock is a wild edible you can eat the entire plant you can eat the leaves but the old ones they taste very bitter and you can eat the young leaves if you want to but they are still very very bitter the thing that you want to go for is the roots really because they contain a lot of starch and they have a lot of nutritional value Barnard leaves are very easy to identify they are very very big and they have this hairy fluffy underside which is a little bit whitish so it's very easy to identify them so now let's try and dig down to the roots and see what we've got here okay I'm gonna sharpen myself a digging stick here

okay I have chest dug up three roots and they are pretty big I have to say and now I'm going to clean them up and wrap them in burdock leaves and take them with me to rout them today it's pretty warm and I want to jump into the water to cool off a little bit because I'm a little dizzy already it's awesome in here tax leave him alone okay F roasted the burdock roots for 15 minutes now so now let's see how the root tastes

the outer bark off the root tastes a little bit bitter but the inner part which you can peel off like that and it's quite fine I have to say it doesn't taste too bad but cattail is much much better it tastes a little bit sweet because of the starch so this has been my video about burdock root thanks for watching don't forget to subscribe like and share and stay tuned till next time bye
