Hello my name is Lilly and I am making videos about primitive living skills, survival, bushcraft, camping gear and prepping. I consider myself being a modern hunter-gatherer who wants to live as close as possible with mother nature and right now I am in the process of learning how to live off the land and thrive in the wilderness. hey guys today I want to show you a new pack that I have here got the wildlands Kaltag by the company why not and actually it was designed by the famous youtuber Joe Robinette and he was so kind to send me one of his packs that rucksack has 30 litres which is a good size for a day pack but you can also use it let's say for an overnighter in the summertime then you don't have so much stuff with you and today I have packed it as a overnight uh pack and I want to show you what I have packed and I want to show you the features that come with the pack so this is the front pocket it is secured with Velcro and you have you know space for all kinds of things this is my packing pouch that I have and in here actually I have a small my team kit for the wilderness in this hygiene kit I have a toothbrush toothpaste toilet paper cotton pots some soap so nothing special but that's the essential hygiene kit that you need okay now let's move on to the side here and the first thing you see is a compression strap which holds the side pocket very tied to the pack and in the side pocket have a few things I have my titanium canteen my canteen cup and my titanium spoon fork so that's what I have in here plus I have my lid for the cup so I'm very happy with the side how to see it because actually they are quite big and that's usually the problem with rucksacks that your container or your water bottles don't fit at the side but these side pockets here they are awesome to have a great size if you don't want to put anything into the side pockets you can just close it and this folds down very very small so that's what I like so it doesn't come into your way when you're walking through the crops and actually you can take them off because underneath here there's a laser cutter motor system and even if you take the side pockets off you still have another side pocket which is more flat and yeah here I have my survival knife and you have this egg slides here at the side and inside it comes with a Velcro surface where I have put my survival attach and so if you have an X you can stick it in there and put it into the side pocket so you don't lose it and at the outside actually I have put in my saw my folding tool which is my swing saw that I use at the other side here I have some stuff with me as well first off I have my flashlight my headlamp
then I have my fishing kit which is containing few hooks and fishing reel and then I have this empty water bottle which I need to warm my water filter next let's take a look at the bottom of the pack and here you can see that they have attached some straps where you can put on you know your sleeping bag or a tab
or in my case I have this cool plant cat sleeping bag that I have attached to the rucksack and this is how the bottom looks like you can actually take the straps away if you don't like that but I think that this is a very valuable feature
now let's take a look at the back of the track back here and at first sight I thought that the straps the shoulder straps are a little bit uncomfortable but actually they are not I have carried this backpack to this place for 30 minutes and they were very comfortable especially the padding and you also got some test straps and you have this removable waist strap which is pretty comfortable as well now let's move on to the top here and the next part that I want to show you is any water bladder pouch I think it's great that you have this nice and square pouch because you can put some maps into it you know or out of documents that you need for your traveling and I know if you can see this but actually this zipper is waterproofed with rubber so that's what I really like because if there's a downpour this is not waterproof but it's quite watertight ok now let's open up the pack and the first thing you see is this security strap which has flaps water flaps for protection against the weather and that sense out of the pack and you might notice this out of pouch here which is just a small pouch for small little things and here I have my Leatherman boys my fire steel the neat thing about this pouch here is that you can take it out as well if you don't like it now let's see what I have in the main compartment so first off here I have my food which is you know not too much but as I said I only packed this backpack for one overnighter then I have my first-aid kit
on top of the rucksacks so if there's an emergency you don't have to search a long time for it next in here I have extra clothing which is containing wool socks it's containing extra underwear it's containing long chance for the night Shane Mack and ahead next in here I have paracord different lengths I have my poncho my military poncho for shelter or when it's raining and you have to walk I have my inflatable air mat which I really love and to comment I have a small emergency top by the company snack pack and last but not least I have this very lightweight down sleeping bag which would be you know not a lot of warmth in the night but in combination with the rule blanket at the bottom of the backpack it's definitely okay for hot summer nights okay I have to take everything together again and I have to say that I really have fallen in love with this backpack here at first I really didn't really know what to do what to think about it but then when you take a closer look at the details you really laugh and take this backpack because it's so adjustable you know you can take off the side pockets the straps the pouch in there so if you want to get a rucksack like this just check out the links in the description there you find the Kickstarter project and you will find the man who has designed this backpack so robinette on youtube and he's doing some awesome camping and bushcrafting trips into the canadian villainess
I want to thank you for watching if you want to see more subscribe to my channel and don't forget to follow me on Facebook Twitter and Instagram stay tuned to the next time
