Hi, my name is Lilly and I like spending time in nature to practice my survival and bushcraft skills. This channel documents my learning process of all wilderness and urban survival skills. This is not a purely primitive survival channel. Sometimes I use modern tools which people might have at hand in a real survival situation. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

hey guys my name is Lily and today I want to show you my new survival knife which is the gerber bear grylls ultimate pro stay tuned [Music]

the grip of the handle is pretty comfortable the blade length is about 12 centimeters and the cutting edge is only 11 centimeters so for my taste that's a little bit short so we will see how does my little perform when I use it for survival tasks okay the first thing that I don't like is actually that they have attached that this will sit not that having a vessel in your survival kit is a bad thing but actually I don't like linear which are attached to knife because when you are walking mr.smile sometimes it happens that you have to walk through brush or some other kind of you know shrubs and sometimes it happens that the lane yard gets entangled at browsers and then it can happen that it pulls out the knife out of your hands while you're walking and then you can slip over the handle and cut your fingers I have seen two people doing that so the first thing that I'm taking off is this lanyard okay the ship looks very special to me I've never seen something like this before I like that the nylon here is pretty sturdy and thick so I don't think this is possible to rip off the knife also comes with a knife sharpening tool unfortunately and it must say that it's just a small knife sharpener and I like the old version better when they have just inserted a diamond Schaffner in the sheath

okay actually it's pretty hard to get the night off with one hand maybe this loosens up over time but yes it's really hard so that's not good if it's too too strong you know if the ship is too tight at least I have made a drainage hole here on the tip of the ship so that the water can run out this nylon is super sturdy I like it the colors are great too of mouth so it's not too easy to lose the knife in the forest for example the knife comes very sharp out of the box it's not razor sharp but it's quite sharp it also has a finger groove here so you can do find carving tasks if you want to Brad to be honest I rather would have a blade that goes back to the handle of the knife because I never use these finger grooves the first thing that I recognized right away is that the back side of the knife is sled to the tip which is a great thing when it comes to patterning so all of the energy gets transferred into the wood to my taste knife is a little bit too short and I rather have a knife which is 2 centimeters longer because when it comes to Petaling it's just so much easier to handle work with a larger blade knife handle is pretty pretty comfortable pretty sturdy it has some harder plastic here so when you put on it doesn't free up the handle so much and it also comes with some bling at home so you can attach this knife to a long stick and make a spear out of it here you can see the logo of bear grylls and what I like about the handle is that it comes with this nice neck straight so that's quite a nice hammer nice feature at the end another thing that I have noticed is this light jimping here which is not a deep and it's not too fine so he has a very good grip with your thumb [Applause]

[Applause]

yeah to me it makes a very good first impression when it comes to carving and cutting let's see how to perform when it comes to put Tommy okay that's it handle is not damaged at all that's pretty good the tip of the knife seems to be very sturdy so let's see if I will break it off on off and what I like about the bottle actually is when you take the knife in reverse grip you can place your thumb on the bundle and you have a very good grip there and you can smash the knife really good into the wood like this so this has just the right angle for the thumb pretty cool yeah first impression is that this Bear Grylls ultimate pro is a pretty good and sturdy survival knife I think also that the price is okay it's not too expensive not too cheap they have put a lot of thought into this knife and I'm going to try it out over the next couple of weeks and see how it performs and the extreme conditions also as you guys know I'm not babysitting my knives I'm really using them and mistreating them to see if there are any wolf in a survival situation so if you are interested in that I'm going to release another video in a couple of weeks about the performance of this knife also I want to thank you for watching please don't forget to subscribe to my channel if you want to see more also don't forget to click on the notification belt so that you get emails because sometimes it happens that my subscribers are not getting notified anymore when I'm reducing a new video so don't forget to click on the notification bell and I'm also on Facebook - then Instagram stay tuned till next time
