Description

Tim River, Algonquin Provincial Park

http://myselfreliance.com/tim-river-algonquin-provincial-park/

The Tim River is one of my favourite places in Algonquin Provincial Park, for a variety of reasons. It's scenic, secluded with less traffic than other locations in the park, full of Brook Trout, harbours plentiful wildlife and is surrounded by beautiful forests.

The Tim River is located just east of Kearney Ontario at Algonquin Park Access #2 - Tim River, about 270 kms north of Toronto, Canada. Because it is not located on the much busier Highway 60 corridor, it sees much less traffic and is therefore offers more solitude. Located in the western highlands, the topography is high and rolling with a wetter climate than the east side, providing ideal habitat for a number of hardwood tree species, particularly maple. As a result, the fall colours are usually spectacular.
