this is the first real significant snowfall of the year it is November the 8th 2013 this is our first year at this farm last year didn't hold out as long as we thought it was going to be we have to start feeding hay just about a month ago not a lot 1/2 bales so maybe half their feed and the rest of what they needed they got from the trees and then what was left of the pasture so here they are up to a full small bale of hay a day which is still relatively low because of the size of the animals even the bowl looks like he's only maybe six or seven hundred pounds at most probably 600 pounds that little calf was just born in September and she's been eating solid food almost from you know the second or third week is there Dexter cattle that's two year old cow that's the mother of that heifer calf back there we have six year old cow and that does her calf in the back and we have Diego the two year old Dexter be full he's naturally pulled and red-coated gene so you know a nice bowl for breeding stuff
