Kingfisher Lake, Algonquin Park - solo canoe trip

Description

Kingfisher Lake, Algonquin Park. Day 1 of a 3 day solo canoe trip on September 26, 2015.

I have to admit there’s something about Kingfisher Lake that makes me want to stay longer – even overnight if there was a campsite on the lake, which there is not. Maybe it has something to do with the weather and the time of day – warm, sunny and close to noon with the sun high in the sky, yet with a coolness in the air and a lack of biting insects that only September can provide. Yet the lake itself offers something else, something that I can’t quite put my finger on.
